Seventeen hundred sheets is not a bad place to start at all. Personally I wouldn't take a penny less than two grand. There's a phrase that I use. Coined from my old boss "I don't compromise on price, because then there would be two of us unhappy".

If it's any help, there's one almost identical for sale on Autotrader: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201203443412608/sort/priceasc/usedcars/model/corrado/make/volkswagen/radius/1501/page/1/postcode/wn80lw/quicksearch/true?logcode=p Factor in the slightly higher mileage, small amount of body corrosion and the fact that this one is an auto, you'll not be unreasonable to ask 2k.
  3. You still driving that beige Maestro ?
  4. Looking for two (unbroken and as quick as possible) of these please (posted to lancashire):

Sweet lord. I hope everyone is okay. You can soon replace a piece of metal. Damn shame about the car, but it could have been a lot worse. Hope everything goes your way. All the very best, James.
  7. Thanks Andy. I've already done mine with aluma blast, along with a raft of other parts. But I'm still not convinced it's spot on. Think I'll try a can and see which I prefer. Chris L - The two parts are slightly different colours from new. Sad but all the Corrado nerds will spot this.
  8. Everything's available at a price ! Seriously, it's a little belter. Very happy with the car. How's life with the 16 valve ? ---------- Post added at 9:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 9:30 PM ---------- Thank you David. I keep checking in on yours, seeing as it's almost identical. They are very easy to work on aren't they. All that space around the engine is somewhat of a luxury compared to the VR6. I've been stock piling service items since late last summer 2011 for it's Easter 2012 service. Apart from that, It's cost me a new coil (£35 from ECP) and £20 for bearings on the alternator. Okay I've been swapping bits about. But it would have still been operational without them. Even thinking about selling the new wheels I bought for it. To maintain the OE style. A toughie...
  9. I noticed the two colours when I was doing mine. What did you use on the manifold as the colour looks right on the money from over here ?

Can't be many sub 100k 8 valves left now. Quick, disconnect the speedo before it gets any worse. If we're not careful, we may kick start an 8 valve craze that'll sweep the nation and see our cars values rocket expedentially. I'm not banking on it though...
  11. High standard as ever Andy. Good work.
  12. Kudos for having a go and not letting it get the better of you.
  13. Crikey. That'll wake you up in a morning. What are you using, Serato or just CDs/wax ? Seemed to flow well. It's hard to judge anyones mix craft over an hour. But if it works well in a club, then keep it going. Reading a crowd is another ball game all together though. Keep the mixes coming.

Always great to hear personal emotions and stories regarding the much mis-aligned eight valve variant. Keep the updates coming as I love reading about "every day" eight valves. What suspension do you currently run ? I'm toying with the idea of back to stock, as I have to traverse fifteen big speed bumps on the way to/from work and it's just becoming a pain, scraping the spoiler on the high incline streets near where I live. I really love the aesthetic upgrade, but can live without the bumping and grinding (!). What kind of mileage are you at ? And is it an ADY engine ? Car looks great as well by the way. 8v for president !
  15. Had to wax lyrical after the weekend I've had. Crept off for a peaceful overnight break. Staying within the counties boundary, we travelled over to this wonderful place: http://www.parkersarms.co.uk Spent a few hours in Clitheroe, picking up quality sausages and the odd charity shop Jazz seven inch. Then made the short drive over to Newton in Bowland. First class ales, food and accommodation. A truly belting set up that we couldn't have been happier with. Ate there last year and promised we would return (Ideally earlier, but hey it's all good). The real icing on the cake came when we went to set off for home and I decided to take an extended "drivers detour" home. drove through some of the best scenery that Lancashire has to offer. Briefly stopped at Stocks reservoir and then pushed on through Gisburn forest, up over the Fells, Cross country through some of the boroughs unspoilt villages then back down the M6 to home in time for tea. The 8v performed faultlessly and truly bolstered my thoughts of what an accomplished sports tourer / drivers car it is. Much better than either the VR6 and 16v on this outing. Couple of images for the folder.
  16. It's got to go. Taking up space in the garage. Seventy pounds buys it all. (I'll even chuck in a free brew and biscuit)
  17. Ironic you mention an Ibiza, as that's what the mrs drives at the moment. It's brisk (1.4), easy to work on, outrageously reliable and parts are easy on the pocket. I keep telling her she's mad to chop in for an A2, but some people don't think logically sometimes. Mum's got a Lupo. (1.4). Reliable and solid, but always seems lethargic. The boot is tiny. Ibiza all day for me. Very easy to drive.
  18. I had a brief look into these a while ago. We like them a lot. The mrs was adamant she wanted one, but the more I looked into it, the more I found out it was never built to be maintained by the "home enthusiast". From what I read, they're to be worked on from underneath, and as such, Oil and water is about as much as Audi would like you to maintain. I believe parts can also be an issue. A lot of model specific parts and mostly OE only from what I read. She'd really like one, but seeing as I'd have to maintain it, I'm not too keen. That doesn't mean we won't get one in the future. Just weighing it up for the moment.
  19. That certainly ties in well with what I've been reading Mike. Internet radio is the way forward, no question. It's all but a question of how you take it to the masses and in what time frame. Home wise I'm hooked up. Just feel a bit musically short changed when I'm in the car. What since Manchester Rock radio changed hands, I don't get that Slayer "pick me up" first thing in a morning that I used to. For some reason the Foo Fighters doesn't have the same effect.
  20. Some good points there Tony. Especially about the rear bumper/ariel solution, so a big thank you. I too felt that DAB has been abandoned as a technology. Especially (as it seems to appear) in respects to in car entertainment. You're correct with what I'd want it for, mainly BBC 6 music (which I listen to 90% of the time), followed by Planet Rock (5%), five live and talk sport (5%). I read that the take up on digital hasn't been against plan for the proposed 2015 switch over. And as such has been extended. It doesn't bode too well. The first brand that sprang to mind was Blaupunkt. Think I'll look at a good second hand unit then. Thanks once again, James
  21. I've had a DAB radio in the kitchen for about five years now and want to install DAB in the car (Don't understand why I haven't looked at this sooner !). Does anyone out there run Dab in their car ? Anything I should look out for and/or avoid ? I've done a bit of research about the need/no need for some aerials etc but wouldn't mind advice from a person, rather than a magazine who's had the unit fitted for them. Looking for an all in one unit as the plug in and locate elsewhere units (Pure for example) seem clumsy and I can imagine will be superseded within a couple of years. Seen Philips, Kenwood units but wouldn't mind a few pointers. Thanks in advance, James
  22. For two pounds it's worth the risk. Does the new led panel rattle at all in the housing ? I may factor this in when doing the lights on buzzer in a few weeks. Also, what sound deadening did you use on the 8v ?
  23. Get the classic car insurance and disconnect the speedo. Could well be to do with your postcode: http://www.motorcarinsuranceuk.co.uk/post-code-ratings.php I had this conversation recently. My friend lives in a penthouse in Manchester, just off Deansgate. Security shuttered underground car park. But because the postcode is M3, he gets absolutely shafted on insurance. Drives a middle of the road Peugeot (even though he could afford something grander) because he refuses to be victimised by insurance companies ignorance for the paltry mileage he covers annually.
