  1. Thought someone one notice that  its just lets heat out, every little helps :) fair enough buddy - every little helps as you say! loving the whole car - ridiculously clean! surprised you haven't changed to lupo wipers... then again, i doubt it gets used much in the rain!
  2. cheers for the comments gents - believe me i'm looking forward to showing it to you! - just want it back. i won't be getting it now until saturday - got another pedal and "hopefully" resolved the issue with the alarm as the vag-doctor found some dodgy bits in the wiring when re-checking it and it now seems to be behaving itself... (time will tell!) the snag that has been hit now is that the ecu is apparently a very late one. he's completed plenty of immobiliser defeats and rev counter codes etc before, but this one has him a bit temporarily stumped. he's going to find out the codes he needs etc and then hopefully it will be a runner asap after that. he has said saturday morning now, just so i can collect it in the daylight in case of any more faults etc and to give him time to make sure all is well (no further running issues etc) before i drive it away. hopefully there's not much left to go wrong now and i should be able to hear it running over the phone in the next day or two... god, it's soooooooooooooooooooo frustrating having to wait longer though!
  3. i wasn't aware of any "pretensioning"??! simply put the point at which the bushes attach the rear beam to the car acts as a pivot for the rear beam (obviously!). once bolted on you should be good to go - i have no idea what people are going on about with pretensioning... i can't even see the need for it (whatever it consists of...) with standard bushes - all the beam does there is pivot i put mine on in the "conventional" way and haven't had any probs at all
  4. think i know what you mean - and yeah (if it's what i think) they should seal up without any dramas..... get some pics up if you want clarification... :)
  5. haha - i knew that you would go 1.8T after speaking to mark - happy days! :D i do hope it's not outside for the sake of my car - my apologies if that's the case.... i'm getting seriously excited about coming to get it now - want it sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad! (hopefully might see you later if you are there......:D)
  6. yeah, once you've undone the little circlips that hold the injectors into the rail, the rail should pull off follwed by the injectors. expect them to be a tight fit in both the rail and the inlet though...
  7. my old vr was dyno'd at 203 bhp with an induction kit, cat-back exhaust and a remapped chip took the induction kit off when i bought it as i hated the noise and didn't notice any difference in performance... (replaced induction kit with standard airbox and k&n panel filter)
  8. i will be trying godspeed when i come to renew my discs, as i want the two piece disc and bell. godspeed do a 325mm rotor and i'm running brembo 323's so hopefully there will be room for the 1mm more clearance i need between the edge of the disc/caliper (should have thought so...) i originally heard about them through an impreza owners club (used to have a scooby) - have only heard good things. i actually spoke to the guy (ian godney) on the phone before now and he seemed very helpful :)
  9. if you're not quite so fussy with the finishing - just get rid of all the rust with a grinder/belt sander - make sure you leave none on there. give the beam a good wipe over with a clean rag to remove any swarf/crap etc that's left on there, then go over it with hammerite - easy stuff to apply/use. a couple of coats and it will be shiny like new again! doesn't take all that long and will (should!) protect it for ages :)
  10. i've recently fitted my v3's - it's all very obvious once you fit them! and you can get a surprising amount of adjustment once you get going - it's honestly very straight forward - suck it and see! :)
  11. i can't remember off the top of my head i'm afraid, sorry - however; mr boost monkey, if you check out the bit that's currently in my flaring tool, it has the measurements etc printed on it... :) (SAE is ringing a bell - but in all honesty i'm not sure...)
  12. should have said - thanks very much again for sorting me with that pump by the way - really appreciated :D :D :D (hopefully it shall be put to good use! :norty:)
  13. hey there buddy - i never thought i would be as much of a fan of these as i am - but check out my recaros - they are black on the outside with white centre panels - they look bloody lovely in the flesh! :) (apologies for the crap pics - i'll try and get some decent ones up as soon as i get the car back) one of the first things everyone has said so far though is nice seats - so i'm happy i made the right choice :D viewtopic.php?f=11&t=62901&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=30 just a thought for you...
  14. looking good buddy - loving the dubpower manifold - they are lush aren't they :D don't forget to keep us updated :)
  15. cracking stuff coxy - need some more pics as its coming together now... :D
  16. question - where's the seal that goes across the front of the scuttle tray? have you stopped using it for some reason?
  17. mate - what did you do in your previous life?! you don't get any luck do you - that's crap matey; at least the starter isn't a big/difficult job... that's also properly crap about the trailer too - i'm sure there will be somewhere around yours that you can sort a trailer or low-loader from.... if you get really stuck give me a shout and i'll give you the number for the people i borrowed the low-loader off for my car. they might be out of your way, but they'll give it to you on short notice and they are good blokes (if that's any use to you...) really hope it all comes together for you matey. chin up - remember it WILL be worth it once it's all finally sorted out :)
  18. unbelievably nice 8) (turns green with envy!)
  19. really not a fan of that sort of thing persoanlly - but then i'm a little to attached to the OEM look sometimes methinks.....
  20. also - was going to post up a list of everything that's been done to the car since i've owned it - the list below (typed while bored at work!) is somewhere near. i'm sure there will be things i've missed out, but hopefully i've covered most things... Mk V R32 Engine with 12k miles on at time of purchase Gearbox rebuild with brand new Quaife LSD New
  21. well i spoke to the vag-doctor again today.... i'd like to say what a thoroughly nice guy he really is - hasn't been able to help me enough and he is unbelievably switched on with his subject - would recommend him to anyone without a seconds hesitation - top man :D anyway - as my thread title suggests, i'm still not quite there yet :( there was a chance of me being able to pick it up today - typically it being a corrado, that didn't happen! the pedal for the drive-by-wire that the breaker bloke sent me finally arrived... turns out that it was working intermittently - when the vag-doctor took it apart it looked like it had been stored in a very muddy puddle while it was waiting to be delivered to me - great! needless to say i'm going to have to get sorted with another pedal now before the car can move on... also, randomly - my alarm has started playing silly buggers. i changed my heater matrix and one of the first things i did after that was to test the alarm to make sure that i hadn't accidentally destroyed any of the wiring in the process - worked fine. the alarm has never missed a beat the whole time i've had the car; but randomly one day a few weeks afetr it just started misbehaving and working very very intermittently and not doing it's normal thing. the vag-doctor has gone all through the wiring and can't find a fault, so the alarm has got to come out and go off to the manufacturer to get repaired - more good news! also, he still hasn't been able to trace the coolant leak - he hasn't donated loads of time to that yet though, so hopefully with a pressure test it will instantly become obvious - we shall see! he has managed to finish the majority of the wiring now, so all i'm waiting on now really is the pedal and the alarm. the earliest i will probably get it back now is tuesday night once i've finished work - so i've got my fingers unbelievably crossed until then!... i was a little disappointed not to get it back today - but then i wasn't holding my breath either as there's invariably something that always goes wrong with these sorts of things. :| i spoke to him about the take off for the oil temp on the MFA - he's going to leave the wiring all setup and ready for me - i'll have to get myself sorted with an in-line sensor in the lines to the oil cooler. but once that's sorted i'll have the reading as normal on the MFA, so no extra unsightly gauges needed in the car - happy days :) i'm just itching to write that post after the first drive - can't wait to experience what the result of all my hard work will feel like! :onfire: (and breathe after typing all that!)
  22. i recognise that corrado! i think you might recognise mine too! i was looking at your photos, saw the first couple just of the corner of the unit and i was like - wait a second............. then saw the next one with the caddy in and all became clear! this has come on leaps and bounds from when i first saw it - you really have transformed it from what it looked like when i saw it then! - looking forward to seeing what it looks like when i next pop down there! (you don't fancy giving mine a quick clean while you're there do you?!) top effort - great to see another corrado being rescued from the scrap-yard in the sky :) will be watching your thread with interest :D
  23. ahhh - fair enough - your ad in your signature block confused me - it thought you had a corrado storm (obviously you're referring to your keyrings) :ignore: should be a nice, straight-forward swap then :)
