  1. Im in the north-east, near york. Reason i havent used mild steel is im not going to get the shape very easily at all. Im away with work until the end of april so there is no imiediate rush to get it, so long as i know someone can help me out we can sort something out. Mimjed, is the sill off the car? if so are you able to see inside and check the condition as the problem is the corrode from inside out. Robrado if you think you can help let me know, i just need to get something sorted before the end of the month. If people give me their email address ill forward pictures of the areas i need, thanks.
  2. Hi there, I posted up a while ago looking for some repair pieces for my sick corrado. The repair work has ground to a halt until I can locate the last few body pieces I need to repair my corrado. Is anybody breaking or know of someone breaking a shell?. I need a small piece on the n/s sill where the front wing bolts to it. I need a section of inner sill off same side and a piece off the rear valance. I'm really hopeing someone can help get my corrado back on the road, its too good to break and I just need these last few parts if anyone can help please.
  3. OK thanks. Any idea when you might know for sure?
  4. Hi there would you be willing to cut out a couple of small sections from the shell for me please?. I have pictures of the areas i need if your willing.
  5. Still in need of these pieces if Anyone knows of anything?.
  6. Thanks would really appreciate that, just to confirm, it is the n/s sill isn't it?. Do you still have any of the floor section from that side of the car?.
  7. Still looking, anyone breaking a shell or know of anyone?
  8. Hi there, i have started to repair some corrosion on my corrado. Originally i was going to get it done by a bodyshop but after some expensive quotes and people turning the job down as they prefer accident repairs to restoration i decided to have a go myself. Ive had to source panels from doner shells as there are no aftermarket panels available as im sure your all aware and the cost of tohe panels i need are prohibitively expensive from VW (id have to buy a rear quarter and part sill at over £700). After spending many hours whittling down the second hand panels to what i need i now have a full n/s sill and n/s inner and outer arches to repair the car with. Having never tackled such a big job before im looking for a bodywork forum where i can post up my progress and hopefully revieve some good advice along the way. Maybe someone on this forum has restored their corrado and can offer some advice on the best way to proceed with it. I have plenty of pictures so far and have a fair idea of how to go about things but im just looking for a bit of help and advice along the way. I have posted a thread on the mig welding forum in the projects section if anyone here has seen it?. Ive not got much of a response from it really so im thinking there may be somewhere else to try or maybe there are people on here who can offer advice.
  9. Im based in north-east england, north of york, would really appreciate that thanks.
  10. Still looking :( cant get much further forward with getting the car repaired without these pieces if anyone can help at all?.
  11. Well thats fair enough. Would you mind cleaning around the wing mounting hole? thats were the problems start as it lets moisture in. If you could clean this area up and it isnt pitted or rusty and everywhere else on the front piece is ok then ill take it.
  12. Hi mate, im in need of someone who will cut that piece out for me. I dont have any means of collecting the full sill but the main reason is that it needs to be cut out to asses the condition of the inside. It might look ok from the outside but will more than likely have started corroding on the inside like the one i already have. I que hope you find what your looking for and no problems, do you have any contact details for the owner of the corrado?.
  13. Im well chilled thanks, just dont want my thread hijacking.
  14. Sorry but would you mind starting your own post requesting parts please.
  15. Ok cheers, if you could leave your email addresses ill show you what i need cheers.
  16. Hi there, im in need of a few repair pieces cutting out of a corrado shell. One on the sill and one on the rear valance. If your breaking a shell and are willing to cut a few small pieces out for me ill send you a couple of pictures showing exactly what i need, cheers.

    Arches

So the inner and outer arches are just pressed together? i find this hard to believe considering they are spot welded together behind the bumper?.

    Arches

Hi there, im in the process of repairing the rear arch on my corrado and ive got an inner and outer rear arch off tanother car but am not quite sure where to look for the spot welds if anyone can help? Ive removed paint and underseal from the inner arch lip, the lip that faces the floor and the outside face but cant see them anywhere?.
  19. Is there any chance that somebody with a corrado with a 9a engine fitted could have a look and see what i should be looking for please?
  20. I dont know thats why im asking??
  21. I actually started that thread and i still havent found out a definitive way of telling if a block is a 9a block. Icant physically inspect the one i have been offered as im away with work so was hopeing someone might be able to tell me what numbers stamps to look for, cheers.
  22. Thanks for that, just to make sure its the original engine and not a different 2.0l swapped in at some point how can i confirm its a 9a block?
