What a pain in the @rse! :(

I went to get a 1/4 litre of paint code LC6V made up this afternoon and the guy said there is 3 different shades for this code so I have to take my car in for matching. Is this correct? Thanks Rich

GPC had a delivery of these this week. They quoted me just over £33 not including P&P&VAT. Spoke to the guy there and he said it would work out slightly cheaper from VW. So I gave them a ring and they had none in stock local but there were 7 in the VW garage, they have ordered one up for me for £42 give or take a few pennies. Rich

Before I get b*llocked for not doing a search I have and I may have found the answer but wanted to double check. I have no problem selecting the gears in my 93 VR6 but since I had the black plastic bit at the end of the selecter cable replaced 2nd gear seems quite a long way back as you change into it. The gear stick hits the plastic surround and lies really flat. How would I go about adjusting this myself? Thanks Rich

Yeah I will try that first then if I can. Cheers all Rich

Oh thats not so bad! Is it a common problem then?

I got under the car for a look about on the weekend and the metal behind the front bumper is rusted through (it has a huge hole in it) :( . Is it easy to get a replacement for this? I will try and get a pic up to show what I mean. Thanks Rich

I agree with you 100%, trust is a big factor as well. I don't suppose you can recommend somewhere for me to get my suspension and tracking setback up as well?

Yeah I booked it a couple of days in advance. I think it was Monday morning I rang and it went in this morning. As for what was wrong, I had polybushes fitted and the car was way off handling wise. When I looked I noticed the front inside bolt on the drivers side wishbone was only being held in place by the sump. I took it back and they couldn't get it in properly so they just welded it in place. Suffice to say the weld lasted about a day before it broke (it was a bad idea anyway because it was never going hold the wishbone firm). So I took it into NG and they lifted the engine, removed the bolt and said the thread had been stripped. They put a new longer bolt in that caught the thread further in and it has tightened up lovely. They also went around and tightened the rest of the bolts while they were at it.

Just got my C back from NG Motors. I have to see I am very happy. Service was superb, they fixed a problem caused by my previous garage in less than 2 hours when the aforementioned couldn't fix it in 5 days. Reasonable pricing as well I thought, may be slightly more expensive but I am more than happy to pay a small premium for quality service and work. Really good recommend Walesy thanks. Rich

Dubusiness is who I have been using up until but I want somewhere closer to my work and house. Bons is flat out all the time (probably a sign of his reputation) as well so you end up having to leave your car with him for longer than would be expected which can be awkward, especially if your C is your daily drive like mine.

Oh thats just by where I work, nice one. I will try them next time then. Thanks Rich

Just wondered what garages in the Cardiff area people on here use to get work done on their rados? Rich

What is the difference between a vr6 front wing and a valver/g60 wing? My search hasn't turned anything up yet so I am trying to broaden it.
-
No it isn't too late, thankfully I don't work in the rain so the weekend was a no go. I have ordered a tap to rethread the bolt hole but it hasn't arrived yet.
-
Right I am going to attempt to change the hub blind. If anyone has any tips then please feel free to share! I will jot it all down as I go along and all being well I will post the guide up. If you don't see anything up on here in the next few days then it has all gone wrong and my vr6 will be lying in bits
-
Oh I wonder if I have ordered the right hub then if it should be more like £75!! I got it from GSF. I have only got that and a new hub nut, I didn't realise I would need so many more bits.
-
It is the wheel bolt thread. I was thinking of re-tapping it but then for the sake of £25 I thought I would get a brand new one.
-
It is definitely the hub I am replacing. The thread is nackered on the one fitted to the car at the moment so I bought a new one to swap it out.
-
Has anybody got a quick guide on how to replace a front hub on a VR6 (with ABS) they can email me? I know it is probably straight forward but I would rather be safe than sorry as it is the first time I have ever worked on my Corrado. Thanks Rich.

I have put a post in the wanted section on here for a second hand wing but there doesn't seem to be anything out there at the moment. Where is the best place to try and find a second hand wing? Should I just be patient and wait until one comes up on this site?
-
Yeah thats what I was thinking about the paint. They are on Volkswagenspares.co.uk for £200 so I think I will go down that route. Cheers for the reply.

Can anyone tell me the best place to get a front passenger wing for a 1993 VR6 and how much I should be looking to pay? I have got a quote from one of those online companies that supply the wing to you resprayed to match your car and that has come out at £329. Is that about the right price? Are these companies any good? Thanks Rich.

What do you want me to take a photo of exactly?

Hi all, I recently bought my first Corrado and it cam fitted with a set of 16 x 9 Borbet A's. They suit the car and I am happy with them but at the moment they stick out a fair old way from the arches and so aren't exactly legal. It has got hub adaptors on it at the moment about 30mm each. I am not sure what size to replace them with, whether there is a particular make I should be looking for and where to get them?!? Any help/advise would be appreciated. Thanks Rich.
