VR6 | Pearl Effect Green | Cardiff Price: £800 Description: 1993 K plate VR6 in Pearl Effect Green. Car has been pretty much unused for the past year, MOT ran out in October just gone I think. Starts first time every time and engine pulls well (Approx 165k miles on the clock). The chains have never been replaced to my knowledge. Paint work is quite poor, with laquer peeling on the roof and the front passenger side wing started life Blue. Also the heater controls aren't working and the fixings are broken. There is a brand new chin spoiler to be fitted and a 6 branch manifold will come with it also. Engine has a BMC CDA fitted. Only a year ago it was serviced and MOT'd at VW specialists N&G motors in Cardiff at a cost of over £800. I also have a set of brand new Team Dynamics PR1's in silver that are boxed up and never fitted, they have the necessary sprockets and hub adaptors to fit to the Car but they will stick out slightly. If they were wanted I would let them go with the car for £1100. I will try and get some pics up on the weekend but please feel free to ask me any questions.

I have just tried to open the bonnet on my vr6 for the first time in a few months (to put the battery back on and move it), when I pull the release cable the passenger side releases but the drivers side doesnt budge. I found the article below but wondered if there was any other ways 1. remove the grill - not the easiest operation in itself with the bonnet shut and i think i snapped a couple of the top clips. 2. cut the plastic shroud on the radiator nearside to allow access toward the bonnet pin. 3. using newly created access route having cut the shroud, use a tie wrap or similar to loop around the spring metal retaining bar that retains the bonnet pin and pull, thus simulating the pull the cable would normally perform. Hi, I am looking to raise some funds for a trip to Vegas and am contemplating selling my new wheels. They are Team Dynamics Pro Race 1's in Hi-ball Silver,17", 5 x 112 and will also come with the 5 x112 - 5 x100 hub adaptors and spigot rings so they fit a vr6. These wheels have never been used and are still in their original boxes in the attic. What do people think would be a fair price to ask for them? Realistic answers appreciated. Here is a stock picture of the wheel http://www.teamdynamicsracing.com/pro-race/Pro-race1hpsilver.htm Cheers Rich

Spotted a Red VR (I think) driving towards Pontypool around 4.20 yesterday. Didn't see him quick enough to wave.

It is amazing how people can afford to do it, especially when times are tight like they are now. Just looked on ebay and there are new clutches around the £100 mark. One of the sellers even describes how Toyota are aware of the problem and the replacement clutch is 190mm rather than the original 180mm.
-
I know it is shocking isn't it! I phoned Toyota about the warranty, it runs until 30k miles or 3 years which ever come sooner. Although it has only done 20k since new it was registered in 2006 so thats where the warranty has run out. I got a quote from Toyota for the work and they wanted £558! It is amazing really, people always moan about the cost of corrado parts but a lot of that is down to limited supply. I am sure the motoring world is awash with parts for these crappy little city cars and they still charge astronomical prices! :censored:

Yeah and the pug 107, seems like the clutch is a weakness on all of them but struggling to get info on how to change it. Everyone seems to have just paid out for theirs to be sorted by the dealer.
-
Thats brilliant, cheers guys. I will register for that site now and see what I can find. Rich

After 20k miles the clutch on my missus Aygo has decided to give up the ghost  . I booked it into a local garage this morning and they have quoted £410 for a replacement and fitting. We are getting married next month so money is a bit tight and I have decided to have a crack myself. Does anyone know if it is a difficult job or have any tips/pointers for me? Cheers Rich

Haven't checked for fault codes. I don't have VAGCom, think I am going to invest in it though. That is a very good point :D

The ABS cages are almost brand new so it shouldn't be them, could be wheel bearings though. Could excessive play in the wishbones cause it? I had Poly bushes fitted a couple of years ago and the car has never handled well since.
-
Not really sure if this is a problem but when I go over say 100mph (on private roads) in my VR the ABS light will come on and stay on until I switch the engine off. It works fine again then. I am getting a lot of movement/tram lining at the moment even though the tracking was done recently, could this be linked? Rich

Yeah I it does but I have tried and failed! It just doesn't want to happen for me
-
How do you fit a front chin spoiler? I have everything to put on but can't remember how I took the rotten stuff off. A step by step guide would be quality. Thanks Rich
-
Went through MOT ok then mate?
-
Cheers Mark 8) Big thanks to Mark and Chris (VAG-Hag), both were great to deal with and made selling to them completely painless. Quality fella's. Rich

There are well maintained Corrado's still going strong at 200k +. So I don't think it should be a concern. Rich

White C leaving the M4 at J34 yesterday at 14.40, I was too far back to get any details. First white one I have seen around Cardiff.

Not sure about the Cerbera but my uncle just got rid of his Tuscan Speed Six and as great as it was to drive IN THE DRY ONLY, it constantly had something wrong with it. Essentially it is a road legal race car and needed to be maintained like one.
