Me and the missus are going to Wolfsburg VW muesum sometime next week, and I was just wondering if anyone here has been? If so what was it like etc?
-
I've just orderd a Pipercross VR6 induction kit. I'll let you chaps know how it goes :D
-
Hi chaps, I've got a standard VR6 and I was toying with the idea of adding some sort of performance air filter, I realise that this won't give me crazy 'MaxPower' style bhp...however, being the kid I am, I'm sure I'd like the noise  Anyone had any experience of adding such a filter?

I'm using 5/30 fully synthetic at the moment, or thats the oil they've just put in my car at the 70,000mile service number anyway. Is that bad then? :?

A few peeps have mentioned to lower my Corrado...well, I don't need any kind of adjustible suspension, so what kind of suspension 'kit' do I need to buy/how much will it cost etc etc Cheers. :D

I checked with my mates who work at VW in the UK, before I left and they cost megabucks for RHD, it didn't appear you could get LHD ones in the UK easily. The cost of living in Germany is far cheaper than that of the UK...with the total exception of anything to do with cars.* My car insurance, for example, jumped from £550 fully comp (my wifes crash 2 years+ ago and my 5 points - declared) to €1800 (about £1300) and the Germans don't give a shit about my points or my wifes crash, despite me telling them. Insurance was so much that I'm forced currently - with new flat! - to be insured 3rd party!!! So, to cut a long story short...I didn't even bother asking VW in Germany about headlights - plus, as you're HM Forces I'm sure you are partly aware of just how f***ing bent the BFG process is when it comes to my car...so time was of the essence - hence finding the only company in Germany that seems to make headlights for the Corrado and buying them. If you were getting posted overseas and had a decent amount of notice beforehand, then get some 2nd hand ones of eBay!! People make a mint selling headlights over here, as it seems to be standard Army issue to get a tax free car over here (namely Focus/Fiesta ST's or Astra VXR's) and you have to buy LHD headlights by German law. *not including my 20% discount as I'm not subject to German taxes

I discovered I was moving to Germany, so I decided to get rid of my current toy - namely a Renault 5 GT Turbo (PhaseII) with 53k miles, grab another couple of grand and together with the R5 sale set about finding me a mint example of a Corrado VR6. :D I found one in September (ya, I've been that lazy with the photos!) with 63k miles in Derby with full VW service history and have imported it here to Germany. I must be one of the few Corrado owners, who uses the full power (i.e speed) of the 2.9 V6 engine, most days and legally. Its all about driving on the authobahn chaps 8) Since owning it I've added a JVC mp3/CD/digital radio, BFG numberplates and LHD headlights. Anyway, here is the car...

Cheers for the headsup mate, I've just bought one. Looks as though I'll have to pop to the bank tomorrow and wire some Euros to them - thankfully I've got a German bank account.

Hey guys, I need a VR6 badge on my grille to finish off my Corrado...does anyone know if the grille badge from a Golf VR6 will fit?
-
The standard wattage being? :?
-
What do you reckon chaps? De-badged grill or leave it standard? I was kinda tempted as it seems to neaten up the front of the car a bit, can peeps with de-badged grill's post some pics to entice me further? ...I guess now all I need to know is to use my poor German language skills to find a supplier near me! :D
-
So I take it as my Corrado is Dusty Mauve (V5 says blue?!) that its quite rare?
-
My electric windows are playing up - again! - so I'd be grateful of any help too. :(
-
Woah? Whats with the massive sig dude? I don't know if I'll be able to help out with the German language much on eBay.de, my German (currently) isn't amazing. So there are no other members in Germany then?! :?
-
Ya, I think they are the 'Angel Eye' kinda style headlights. I guess I'll have to check out some Phillips H7 bulbs then, so the main headlight bulb is a H7, what about the sidelights? I think they'll pretty small?! :iamwithstupid: The car is a late-model Corrado if that makes any difference.
-
Just curious to know if there are any other Corrado members in Germany? I've spotted another green VR6 with UK/BFG plates over here, but thats out it! :(
-
Hi guys, I've just had to change my RHD standard headlights for some LHD Audi/BMW style headlights to comply with BFG rules over here in Germany and I was thinking it was a good time to change my headlight bulbs. So, are the headlights H4, or H7? What about the sidelights? Can anyone recommend a particular good headlight and sidelight bulbs?

So whats the deal with getting a plug n' play loom? How much do they cost? Can I get it shipped to Germany? (British Forces Post Office Address, so its the same as UK costs) How do they work/are they any good? Cheers.

The chains? I thought the chains lasted the length of the engine? Rather than replacing a cambelt every 60,000miles?! So, is it going to cost me bucks, or indeed
-
The tappet like noise is more noticeable starting from cold, but is also present when the car is warmed up. The performance of the car seems unaffected, however, I obviously want to sort it out! Now you mention it, I think it could be coming from the right-hand side of the car...hmmm, guess I'll have to let my local VW dealership deal with it. I wonder how I'm going to explain that with my basic German! Das chains kaput? As for the petrol, I can also use Optimax/V-Power...and a full tank costs me about 15-20 Euros. Did I mention I get fuel coupons? Ha! :D I remember when I last filled up in the UK and it was almost £60!

Hi chaps, Not really had a chance as yet to introduce myself, but let me cut-to-the-chase... I've recently bought a mint VR6 with full VW service history and being HM Forces have exported the car with me to Germany :-) Its all about driving on the autobahn lads with 'special' 100RON German petrol. 8) Anyway, I want/need my car serviced (70,000miles coming up soonish) at my local VW garage, but have no idea what kind of cost I'm looking at (despite getting 20% discount as I'm not subject to German tax) or what they'll do as part of the service itself. Can anyone give me an idea? I reckon with the German winter coming it would be a good time to change the dizzy cap, HT leads etc etc Also, I'm getting a quiet tappet-like noise from the engine recently...bit of a dumb question I realise, but could this in fact be the tappets needing replacing? :( Or am I just using the wrong oil or something...hang-on, what is the right oil?

Hey guys, I've just got back from a long drive on a hot day, so the windows were down...however when I got back home the windows wouldn't work and nor would the mirrors when I tried them, but when I locked the car, the windows went up fine with the closure alarm?! Any ideas?!
