  1. I'm test driving it next month. Photos and my opinion to follow...
  2. Wow! I picked the car up late Friday afternoon and I'm amazed! I need not have worried as the quality of the work is very good, as yet I've not managed to tell its been sprayed. From what I could gather with my shitty German, the dude sprayed the wing and the side of bumper, then 'feathered' (sp?!) it round to the front of the bumper, then he touched in some stone chips on the very front edge of the bonnet. All in was 220 Euros. I'll upload photos tomorrow. So either August or September he's going to refurb all 4 of my original Speedlines too :luvlove:
  3. In a car? Wow, now thats P.I.M.P, cheers the the advice, will give them a try this weekend.
  4. So, there are a few stains on the back of the drivers seat on the black cloth. I've tried the usual AutoGylm/Megs spray stuff, but alas they are still there :( Anyone got any ideas how to get them out? Is there a proper interior shampoo stuff I can use? Cheers, D.
  5. Hi chaps, The time has come for me to get the standard 15" Speedlines refurb'd on my Corrado VR6. I'm having some bodywork done this Thursday (wife+garage wall) and it just so happens that the bodyshop in question does alloy wheel refurbishment for 40 Euros per wheel :afro: Now, I know that things over here in Germany are FAR cheaper than sunny England, but surely 40 Euro's is a bit too cheap, however upon asking peeps about their opinions on his work (just like his reputation for bodywork) the replies I get are outstanding. I doubt I'll get some spare alloys to baz about in while 4 x wheels are being done, but for 40 bucks I can't really argue. Whats the general script for refurbing an alloy wheel then? Do they take the tyres off? Put the alloy weights on the inside of the alloy and how on earth do they fix wife/stevie wonder stylee kerbs and the odd stone chip? Some kind of putty I presume?! Cheers, D.
  6. Hello chaps, Was checking out my brakes today and someone I know has a spare set of 'Audi S2' front calipers and I'm led to believe they are an easy direct-replacement for my Corrado? I've got a 1995 Corrado VR6. I'm never going to up the power from standard and I'm never going to change from the standard 15" Speedline alloys. I'm told the Audi S2 front calipers have more 'bite' than the standard Corrado items, but what sort of price should I be looking at paying for them, also and probably more importantly, can I use standard Volkswagen VR6 brake pads with them? By the way, I went to Volkswagen today and bought some front brake pads for the car - they were 89 Euros! :shocked!:
  7. http://www.vagcat.com/ Thought peeps might find this interesting, I only found this out myself today - it lists every part for a large number of VAG cars and also if that part is shared with any other VAG car. Not had much of a scan through it yet, but it seems pretty damn good. Maybe make this a sticky thingie-ma-jiggy?
  8. See what I mean the bloody interior light bulb isn't working now!!
  9. If thats the case...then whats this about?! :norty: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/558375.htm
  10. Holy Shit! Wow, I've never have a fluid in need of topping up before on any car. I thought brake fluid is changed every 2 years during a service or something?! Everything in Germany is closed tomorrow, so I'll have to wait till Monday. Its just above the minimum. Do I just top it up? Or do I empty the entire thing and put new stuff in?! What a loser...can't believe I missed this :camp:
  11. Ah-ha! As always Mr. BoostMonkey you are a feast of knowledge! How does a dumbass like myself stop this happening then? I take it, it means removing the big plastic thing that the handbrake lever 'sits' in?
  12. Hi chaps, Bit of an odd one this, I was behind a slow moving vehicle the other day and decided mashed the go-faster pedal to overtake them and I noticed that the handbrake light on the dashboard was flashing at me?! :? Anyone got any ideas?! Cheers!
  13. I believe we get them here in Germany in August - I'm going to see if I can blag a test drive, they love us Brits test driving their cars as we can buy them TAX FREE. Niiiice.
  14. Ha! I live in Germany and agree 100%. Cost of living and quality of life is also better overhere.
  15. I believe they glued it. Cost me €40 (£31.85).
  16. :) Picked the car up this afternoon and all is well - might even have a new member on here as I was asked for the web address where I got the information on how to fix the problem! CHEERS CHAPS!
  17. Well, have been reading up about this hammering-the-pin-then-glueing-it-back-in-with-badasstickforever-glue stuff and have explained it to the wife (speakers better German than me!) and she's going to call the dealership. Phew! The dude working on the car has a Corrado with a Turbo taken from some Porsche! So I think its in good hands, however...my ass is on the bus today by the looks of it :(
  18. Shiiiit! Any idea on the previous threads on this topic dude? I'll read them and then call the dealership! :(
  19. Did a search and couldn't find much on it :( The car is at the Volkswagen dealership now, so hopefully they'll sort it!
  20. I don't know what it is with my Corrado lately, but I seem to have a Gremlin in it?! Recently, I've had to replace the... - Headlight switch - Electric window fuse(s) - Sunroof switch and this morning driving to work my steering wheel column adjust has gone and the whole damn thing moves up and down freely as you're driving along!!!!! What the hell is it with my car at the moment? Its mechanically sound and apart from the occasional electric fault its never, ever let me down at all.
  21. As I was driving to work today, the steering wheel column adjust came completely loose, so now the steering wheel moves up and down freely whilst driving!! Is there any easy fix to this? Or more importantly, is it expensive? :help:
  22. ...because I want to do something like this Is it just as simple as using a flat-head screwdriver to kinda wedge it off? :confused4:
  23. Got a quote today from 'Car Color GmbH, Fahrzeuglackierung' who are located directly next to my local Volkswagen dealership and they quoted me 550 Euros (£437.57) and that includes re-spraying the entire front bumper. However, thats cash and with no paperwork :pale: Cos' I'm not on the German net, its much easier for them to have it as a cash job. Thing is, I've got shit loads of paperwork for everything since it was build and sold at the dealership, so I'm not sure I'd want to take this route.
  24. I've calmed down a bit now. I'm glad peeps think the wing is repairable, will they be able to mold/hammer it to the exact shape it was before then? Guess I'll have to go to the local bodyshops and see what the score is. No way am I claiming off the insurance, my excess over here is way too high, plus I'd loose 3.5yrs NCB. So I'll have to get the whole wing resprayed and whole bumper?
