  1. Friday night: Washed it, but had the water freeze before I could dry it. Then took pics. Saturday: Relayed my headlights, then put a new ECU chip in it. My MFA died. Sunday: Fixed my MFA, then drove back to school.
  2. I think our rados might be brothers! Nice pictures man. I actually took some garage shots myself on Friday night.
  3. Sorry to hear about that man. I've got a spare bonnet, but shipping from the USA might be a bitch.
  4. If anyone really cares, a brief update on my project. I'm going home tomorrow night so I can finally relay my headlights so I can see more than ten feet in front of my car. I'm also hoping to swap the performance chip in it with a Neuspeed chip. Also I might start prepping the block for paint. Also I finally have the $$$ saved up for a Stage4 g-lader rebuild from Kompressorkanada :D

    ECU swap

So I got another ECU that has a different chip in it. Would it work if I just plugged that one straight in and pulled the old one out, or should I actually go and swap the chips? I've already checked it and the second ECU works and is from a G60 Corrado.
  6. Welcome. Please post some pics- the un-cultured US kids like myself don't have much of an idea what a Skodia is until we google it
  7. I'm glad I could be an example? I bought the car myself I can afford the insurance because I work my arse off, and my father is in the military so we get it ridiculously cheap. Or else I would probably still be riding my bicycle everywhere  As far as the "affluent" high school/college thing goes, it's all about the area. My high school has kids with Porsche's, Mercedes, a few Chrysler Crossfire's, Solstice's, Sky's (Opel GT)... My rado is basically the low low low end of my school's cars. And you would be surprised at how few kids out here actually buy their own cars/pay their own insurance. I can count the number of my friends that actually buy their own car, gas, and pay their insurance on one hand.
  8. Yeah. E-codes are euro's. The standard US headlights sucked, so everyone just put the E-codes on theirs. I have some on mine but they aren't relayed (doing it this weekend) so they're very dim, and I'd probably have better visibility if someone sat out front with a torch.
  9. What's under the bonnet of these? I saw one in front of me yesterday and it ripped away like it's owner was on fire. Badge just said 16v, but i'm thinking 2.2 flat-4 maybe? p.s. sorry for the O/T, here's a 944 engine shot to compensate: *wanders off to get on with AutoCAD homework* Actually, that's a 951  Here's an N/A (mine)
  10. You should be thankful for that, because I can vouch from first hand experience that Corrado's aren't good at picking up chicks regardless  Sorry, I had to lighten up this thread a bit. I'm going to back up what everyone else has said about a young kid taking out a 500hp car. The most I've ever driven was a Saab 9-5 with like 220hp. That's not even half of what his BMW had, but I'm even reserved about taking that out because I know it's at least 70hp more than my rado, which is what I'm used to driving, and frankly I think that 220hp is a bit too much for a kid at my age. And in the off chances that I do take it out, I'm not driving like a moron. I'm much more reserved in that than I am when I'm driving my rado.
  11. I was home a few weeks ago and cleaned up the cars. I've also got about $800 that I'm about to put into my C, and even more after I finish with the Porsche and get it sold. I also have a new fender to put on in place of that bruised one, just painted in Tornado Red :D
  12. I have to agree. I also think that the Father of said AmericanM5 is mental for letting his son of 18 drive a car like that. I would imagine that he feels pretty bad now :( I would hope so. My dad was hesitant to let me take his 220hp Saab out when I got my license. I hope that this teaches parents a lesson. I'm not one yet, and honestly I'm still only 18 years old (I feel so young!). I'm not saying that I'm an expert driver or anything, but I know not to push things. I rolled a Saab 900 three times last January, so I had to learn my lesson the hard way, although I know now. It just takes one big scare to teach you, but unfortunately his family had to learn it this way. It really is creepy reading that thread.
  13. I saw this on my local boards when it happened. Definitely sad, but at the same time I don't feel sorry for the kid, just those that have had to suffer because of him.
  14. I must've gotten a HELL of a good 944 then. I've owned my 944 since August of '05, and the amount that Ive put into it is only in the three digit numbers, and most of the maintenance I have had to do to it is just simple oil changes and whatnot. The only time its ever left me stranded was when I got a flat tire. And it's the higher mileage of the two with almost 125k. The only downfall to the car is that I can't drive it in the winter. Of course the rado has a bit more acceleration than the 944 because the 944 doesn't have any kind of forced induction, but it definitely out-handles my rado. I've owned my rado since July '07. It has just under 101k miles. I've dumped almost $1300 into it, and Im lucky if I'm not left stranded with it.
  15. Wow, I LOVE those wheels and the tint. Theres just something sexy about a red rado on black wheels. Very nice :)
  16. I'm glad the damage isn't too bad, and that nobody was hurt during it. But In my American mind: What is a TWOC? I'm guessing it's kind of the same thing as a DUI (driving under the influence)?
  17. I've owned my 944NA for about 2 and a half years and have hardly had to put any money into it. Granted it's not an S2, but the NA's have a history as well. Great car to look at, great car to drive.
  18. I let a woman drive my 944 once and nothing bad happened. Dunno, just throwing that out there...
  19. Wow, I wish mine looked that excellent! Now all it has is one brand new painted fender and the rest is an off shade of red
  20. I almost always leave the keys in the ignition on the Porsche, but that's locked in the garage at my house, so the only people that would go in there would be family, and none of them have the physical prowess to drive it. But when I was coming back to school we had an open house (not sure if you guys do those over there, where potential buyers can come and walk through your house) because we're selling it, and I almost left the keys in it, but I remembered right as we were walking out the door. I'm glad you found your keys.
  21. A guitar A summer Probably a semester of schooling Lunch for a week Countless dates (I'd pick my VW over a woman in a heartbeat... It doesn't cheat on me ) Several parties A desktop computer worth about $1200 that I only got $700 for Soon I'll be selling my Porsche 944 to help fund it :( Wow, I think I'm in over my head here.
  22. I had this issue with my Porsche. One of the connecting wires behind the horn itself had come off and was hitting on everything, making it go off every time I would hit a bump.

    Eaton M-90

Someone is telling me they can get me an Eaton M-90 supercharger for $200-250... Does anyone have any experience with these? it definitely seems like it would be a ton cheaper than maintaining a g-lader in the long run.
