  1. Kompressor Kanada cost a bomb, and so does the shipping. You can buy refurb kits of ebay. Don't like what they do to the fins with staged builds. They seem to grind the life out of them - not nice imo.
  2. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-CORRADO-MANIFOLD-1-8-2-0-8V-INCL-G60-STAINLESS-STEEL_W0QQitemZ400101498505QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item5d27e85e89 I don't know if this has been discussed before, but are these good quality? They seem dirt cheap. Thanks
  3. Hi, Do you need a piston rewind tool for G60 rear brakes? If so, what one ? Thanks,
  4. Hi, You can buy a refurb kit from VW. Those long thin bolts are a bit nasty to get off.
  5. Thanks for the comments. Coolrado - I wonder if the system you have is not set up correctly. Perhaps you have the preload wrong causing belt annihilation. To get the sizing and possible belt strength correct, I'd need to sit down and work everything out. Might have a go over the weekend. Cheers.
  6. I am thinking about manufacturing a batch of tooth belt drive systems for the G60. Would people be interested in buying these if I made a batch? Similar to this http://www.bar-tek-tuning.com/lshop,showdetail,10392,en,1264080972-10772,,2160162,18,,.htm Cheers
  7. let's not forget it's a parasitc loss.
  8. Hi buddy, Could be any number of things. Firstly ensure air is getting in - throttle body check etc. Ensure fuel is getting in - Injector check, fuel pressure check, Good spark? Ignition timing and static timing. If all ok - move on to other things like sensors etc.
  9. Hi, You can weld it up and block the lines, however you will over boost the engine, creating a pressure spike and then doing some damage. The bypass butterfly valve is to bypass boost at low loads, full boost only comes on a few degrees before fully open throttle. Also, No ISV will create an overboost condition again.
  10. Happy New Year mate. Static and ignition timing ok? Go round all sensors that supply the ecu with information and do the checks outlined in the Bentley Manual.
  11. You can modify the map to increase the cut off, but not the best idea unless the engine is heavily modified, and requires it.
  12. Cool. I have been buying a few destructed G60 chargers of ebay.de and stripping them down to use components to build a few back up chargers. At the moment I have 1 back up and two exploded ones awaiting investigation. Also bought a supposedly shitty PG G60 engine complete with charger, gearbox and loom for 300bones, and everything is in rather good nic. The engine has been opened up to 1805cc and running Mahle pistons and geometry is within tolerance - what a steal. Rebuilding at the moment. I digress - for me the Orbital Scroll G Charger is the only one I will use, regardless of reliability. it's just cooler.
  13. Don't really get why people buy G60s then take the G60 charger out and put something else in. It's called a G60 because of the charger in it - and that is what makes it special. It's fragility just adds to the uniqueness.
  14. Hi, Have you checked the plate that controls the air intake on the fuel metering side of the air box. And the butterfly valve on the throttle body? Perhaps one of these is sticking, restricting the air into the cylinder chambers, in turn sending your combustion into a rich state and blacking up those sparkers.
  15. One of the pics looks like some sort of Corrado death camp.
  16. You can use the sensor that measures the outside temp - just re-locate that - check the range first mind.
  17. Hi, I would think it's bearing related after sitting that long. Keep your fingers crossed the displacer is not damaged. Apex strips would be in need of refreshment after that long. The small eccentric is surprisingly loaded and subject to a rather short bearing life. I'd ask GW to change that while their in there. Cheers.
  18. Hi, You can fit a 1 bar check valve on the isv outlet. The sensor is 200kpa. So run more than 1 bar boost and it sends a duff signal and your AFR goes lean. German ebay sell the 250kpa sensors. I'd try helping the top end breathe easier rather than running mad boost. Going from 0.8 to 1bar over that piston area gives more than 100N extra push force on those rods. They'll take it, but may not last as long. Having said that, it's a great engine torque riser - adding more boostage. :|

    G60death???

Hi. What was wrong with the charger?
  20. I am looking to install a fmic. Any sugestions on the best set up for a Corrado g60 would be appreciated. Cheers
  21. Wouldn't the optimum place for the sensor be in the inlet manifold?
  22. Hi. I have a model and manufacturing drawing. You can make your own if you can machine?
  23. Can you set the display rate on the LC-1? What chip are you running at the moment?
