  1. The Jetex pollen filter is #413 and is excellent. Granted these things do work better on recirculatory systems but having had it for a week i can already see what would have been either in the car or on my lungs.....just one thing tho (and dont laugh!) it was a two man job to fit the thing!!! It clips onto the top of the grille no problem but then you have to lever it onto the studs....dont say i didnt warn you....
  2. 2 weeks on......this is beginning to bug me now especially as the rest of the car is tops! Is there any kind of remedy before i head to VW in (ahem) Benidorm, open my wallet & say help yourself amigos................copper grease any help on back of the pads...?? :( :(
  3. Join the club!! I ordered through jetex, i think its part number 413, they could not have been more helpful.....
  4. As per the above..... when you slide away the plastic grille from underneath the black plastic shroud you basically look down a tube to the fan motor but oppo this is a strange black flap angled at about 45 degrees. It has a V.A.G. part number on it but i cant read mine since its 14 years old....what the hell is it for?? Help
  5. Good question!! Its a 94 Corrado LHD with rotary controls. I took the dial off and saw the sliding contact and managed to move it so that the fan now works on 2 & 3. If its possible to buy solely the brass slider then i may well go for this but if it costs and i have to start hacking away at the dashboard i may just leave it.....
  6. Hi there, my fan works fine on 2,3 & 4 but oddly not on number one so its asphxiation or gale force....can anyone shed any light on this? :?
  7. Hi there, sorry to hear about your misfortune, keep thinking of the end result mate it will be worth it. Inlet manifold looks tops, i started mine yesterday using wire wheel and WD 40, what do you recommend? Also the cam cover is a horrid yellowish colour, how did you get yours in such top condition? Best of luck, the Diesel Junior
  8. Thanks Cheesewire thats much appreciated. Happy motoring!
  9. Hi there! Well my VR6 has safely arrived here in sunny Spain. L reg but only 80k km, its just bliss. Maybe an automatic but its just superb. OK, something we all love, the dreaded intermittent fault. Since yesterday about 60% of the time (although its getting worse...) when i stop the car and put it into reverse i get a noise from (i think) the passenger side (LHD) back wheel which i can only describe as the sort of noise that Chewbacca used to make in Star Wars (!!). If i accelerate through the noise disappears, but its really is quite loud and is puzzling me! Any advice much appreciated, maybe wheel bearing, maybe grabbing caliper....off for a drive in the hills in the best car VW have ever made. Regards, The Diesel junior
  10. Thanks for that Fla - you speak sense! How do you find it as an auto? My preference would have been a manual but a low mileage one with LHD screames 'buy me' and the rest is history! :D Any advice on HT leads and spark plugs?
