Hi. Didnt manage the photo of the fuel pump etc but its clear Im needing to replace all the pipework around it to and from the pump,filter etc etc. Can you look at yours to see what youve got and what condition its in and if you are looking to sell with a price etc. Maybe a pm would be better for you ? Hi,do you have the underbody fuel assembly? Not really needing the pump but could do with spare pipework etc around it.Cheers

Can I jump in here.Does the heater have its own connection to the battery. Mine stopped working and i suspect my battery connectors.Thanks

Maybe i damaged a wire when refitting the battery ? Batery tray looked ok but some of the wiring looked every bit of its 20 years of age,scary! Thanks again for your help.

So more info pointing towards a fried temp sensor? Thanks DW.

Hello Si Thankyou very much for taking the time to respond to my query in a such in depth and helpful manner.You really are a credit to this forum for taking the time to help out a stranger. Ive had to leave the car and will try to fix it between the turkey sandwiches over Christmas. I replaced the battery removing the cables in the right order but they do look rather old and may have caused a short with me wiggling them about maybe? The sensors are all original never been replaced so may well have failed,been fried by me.I will remove the battery again and refit,leave on ignition for 5 mins then try starting it and if it fires take it for a good run.This was recommended on the vwvortex site. I must say i dont think it will work so will work my way through your recommendations starting with the temp sensor. My problem is im useless with auto electrics so no doubt fixing this fault will be "fun" Im going to reread your advice right now and hopefully this will sort me out. Hi.Well Ive broken the 2.093 16valver again. My battery was old and starting from cold was slowing but fine if it was warm so I disconnected it and fitted a new one in about 5 mins. The car turns over nice and strong but struggles to fire up.It stutters for a few seconds then dies and after 8-10 attempts with pumping the gas pedal it will start up. Its fine when warm. So I must have thrown something by changing the battery but what ? Am i meant to do a ecu reset when fitting a new battery maybe and if so what is it ? Thanks for any help that anyone can offer.

Hi would you take 20 for the ht leads? Its just that i only really need the leads and nothing else.Cheers if u can no worries if u cant.

Hi,im looking for a single ht lead. My dizzy-coil lead is arcing like a wild one. Dont fancy a new set because im trying to track down a missfire and its not gonna turn into a new parts one after the other ball ache like normal hopefuuly. Cheers

Sorted . Vw useless surprise surpise.Got one from TPS for £17. Different part no. from the one that came off mine but worked fine.May help someone else sometime?

Hi.Ive just lost reverse at the mot station F***! The plastic gear shift actuator(?) that holds the top cable has snapped and im having troublke finding a replacement. Can anyone point me in the right direction ? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply guys.Will give it a few days for the air to dissipate and get the long awaited new belt on.Hopefully that will sort it just leaving the windscrean replacement that needs doing, cheers.

Has anyone got an idea why my pump is making so much noise after i changed the pas pipes and refilled with the vw pas fluid? The pump didnt run when dry and it was slowly refilled and the cap was left off so it could release any trapped air. Maybe it will get better with time or should i remove the cap and continue to release any trapped air maybe. Thanks for any ideas. BTW how do i tighten the pas belt or am i best to renew it. Ta.
