very nice matey! what you got planned for it? or is that top secret? I suggest you change your forum alias to 'jedi-smurf' in honor of the colour

Its the first car I've owned where the far left digit has been anything other than '0'! You're right kev, if its been looked after its not a massive deal, which is testiment to what a fine car it is  I know what you mean jim, as the counter ticked over i did actually brace myself for the wheels to fall off and the to engine set on fire, bit of an anticlimax when nothing happened, albeit a happy one!

Corrado Forum Car of the Year - Nominations
chrishill replied to Shilakadaddy's topic in General Car Chat
My vote goes to a20lee with g60dan coming a close second, based purely on looks though. Thats not to say i dont apreciate the others, its a tough choice! -
well, I finally joined the 100k club tonight!
-
heh, yeah i found my fronts catch on the arch liner when...er...being enthusiastic! The improvemnt in handling is really nice, extra stability on corners rules, so long as i keep it just under the point it feels like its at the limit and is about to break away, otherwise scrubbage and (as i found out) tyre smoke results!
-
unfortunatly i got them from euro car parts and their policy is something like you have to check the parts before you leave the store, if theres anything wrong after that..tough. (more words than that on a big poster behind the sales desk...nice!)
-
they might be nasty but i still spent my hard earned on them! knowing me i'll f**k them with the hacksaw! I'll probably just live with it for a while and invest in better springs later if i keep the car for another year or so, just wanted to know if something like the H&R's would give a simular stance or if the arse in the air look is pretty standard for uprated springs
-
bilstein dampers (not uprated i dont think) and 'ventura' springs which i've since learned are renound for being nasty :( not much i can do about that now, my pennies are all gone... hacksaw? !

after dropping my C 40mm front and rear, the front looks great, nice and low, but the back's still pretty high in comparison. In an amazinly technical way i've measured the gaps between the arch and the top of the tyre, the fronts '1 finger' and the back is '2 and a half fingers' :) I'd like the back to be as low as the front so the car sits more like Kev's and g60dan's, is it just because I was cheap with the springs and to get that stance i need coilovers?

got mine in august 2003 with 79k on it, and I'm just shy of the 100k mark now..eek!

A quick google seems to point to this shape... http://www.bilgalleri.dk/html/gal_visbil.asp?ID=22113 http://www.marktnet.nl/VW-Polo-1-4-N6-44KW-159818.htm HTH!

theres an old white s4 (?? like the black one from dav's link) I've seen around up here a few times, looks amazing on the road - such a beast! rack's right, 80's rally cars just have 'something' about them, all shaped like bricks but go like the proverbial of a shovel!

VR6 - 18th coolest car in the world ever! (officially!)
chrishill replied to chrishill's topic in General Car Chat
its got quite big windows, i guess if you wind them all down it'd be pretty cool, especially in the winter....or have I missed the point? -
How about setting up a sub-forum where people post photo's they'd like to see included in the calendar, one photo per thread and a yes/no vote. At the end of the year the top 12 photos get used (and maybe the next 10 runners up are used somehow too). Obviously there'd have to be some guidelines for the photos to make sure they're going to look good in print and not break any copywrite rules.

http://www.topgear.com/content/features/stories/cool_cars/10/ they recon the r5 turbo is cooler though... -
I looked at it on the site too, the coupe's quite interesting but as you say...18k?!? not a chance! C4? is the performance *snigger* explosive?    :(
-
no worries mate, if the answers 'no' then its 'no'! its just on the GSF site they just have 'strut top mount' listed, not 'front' or 'rear' :|
-
ok, ta, guess i'll give them a bell in that case.
-
ah nice one, 45709A it is then! Are they the same front and rear?
-
I'm trying to get hold of some new top mounts, and I've just had a look on the GSF website, but its not obvious which i need. There's 2 listed with different part numbers 45709A. and 45737. 45737 has ''Ch.50-S-000052' after it in the description, whats that about? are the top mounts the same front and rear because there doesnt seem to a definition between the two on the site. Cheers!

and here he is! oh dear!

A mate of mine sent it to me thinking it was a C (pfft - uneducated pleb!) from looking at the URL the car won something in/at 'Golden River' in Belgium. The paints unreal on it, looks like its been laminated!

Took it to a local garage and got them to have a butchers, turns out i'd lost a nut off one exhaust mount/hanger and the other side was loose! The guy 'nipped my nuts tight' as he put it and its all sorted now. What is it about the C that gives me uber paranoia with every little rattle? -
if not...what is it!? pic thumbnailed-vr6storm
