i wouldnt have thought you could rule out engine mounts by dipping the clutch, as (I think) the engine would only move if it's actually trying to move the car, if you see what i mean. Test your engine mounts by popping the bonnet (hood to you!) putting the handbrake on and lifting the clutch to the biting point while getting a mate to see how far the engine moves.

pvw website (and back pages of the mag) normally has a few C's

Are Subs Chav? Boyracer? Scally? Townie? etc...?
chrishill replied to Shilakadaddy's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
IMO they're only chav if you're going to use them to try and attract attention to yourself, if you're doing it for the music then go for it! if your musical tastes include music that is bass heavy then obviously you'll want to enhance that aspect of your system and theres nothing wrong with that in my eyes. -

how'd you get on Ian?

I think thats the major point, I cant see a civilians eye witness report of you speeding standing up really, she cant prove it and if the maths on the skidmarks work out it weights it in your favour. good luck mate, hope you get it sorted soon and that nasty whiplash you sustained doesnt stop you playing sports, doing your job... wink wink!

what about a passat? not your typical 'boy racer' car in the eyes of the insurers so it might cost less? (or i could be talking out my rear!)
-
now thats a 'tool'

is this the guy that has a few C's on the autotrader site? i was looking at them the other day IIRC he has 'call my mobile' on his website which doesnt strike me as super professional, but hey, the car could still be sound!

C owner: Hello, KEV do you read me, KEV? KEV: Affirmative, Dave, I read you. C owner: Open the corrado doors, KEV. KEV: I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that. C owner: What's the problem? KEV: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do. C owner: What are you talking about, KEV? KEV: This corrado is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it. C owner: I don't know what you're talking about, KEV? KEV: I know you and Frank were planning to modify it, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen. C owner: Where the hell'd you get that idea, KEV? KEV: Dave, although you took thorough precautions in the garage against my hearing you, I could see your lips move. :D

So.....how many 8v owners on here? ((echo))
chrishill replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in General Car Chat
137bhp is about the standard unmodded bhp of a 1.8 16v, IIRC the 2.0 16v is about the same as they added a cat which restricts the power a bit, but it has more tourqe. I guess the best way to find out is to test drive a few and see what you think. -

i think a note along the lines of 'proof of storm ownership must be shown before delivery' would be appropriate in the auction
