All good advice re negotiating for a better settlement figure. I unfortunately wrote of my (now ex) girlfriends car off last summer. Was a 55 plate 206cc with 9000 miles on it. Her insurance offered something like 5k for it but we disputed that and sent in examples from autotrader of similar ones for sale up to 8k. Her insurance eventually came back and settled at 7k. Looking on autotrader just now the cheapest VR is nearly 1800 with examples up to 3k. Must be worth a phone call to your insurance company?? Richi

I have a friend selling a MAF and coilpack from a 1997 Golf VR6. Are these parts interchangable with the ones on a Corrado?? Would these be worthwhile getting off him as spares in case mines die?? Thanks

I've used an active sub....an Alpine one SWE1000 i think. For me, not being too into my audio its absolutely superb. I've just screwed it to the back seat so it doesnt take up much room and it doesnt break the bank either. I'll try get some pictures up if you want to see??

Cheers.....I've just picked up a good set of foams to retrim my drivers seat :D

you can remove the speedo clocks' surround, and the switches between clocks and middle vent to get access to the lil bit that has broken. yiou can replace it with a little of hard-metal-wire or make one with plastic. Think I've found an easier way....was looking through the guide to remove the dash and seems the vents just clip in. just squeeze and pull lol
-
Hi folks. the little thumb wheel which opens and closes the middle vent has broken. it seems to have come off the spindle and disappeared into the dash somewhere. can these vents be removed or is it a dash out job?? thanks
-
cheers all...I'll have a trip to my local factors over the weekend
-
Good shout with doing the repair from behind...is this stuff easily found?? wont need to go hunting the world will i??
-
LOL...think I'd be better sticking to some kind of glue product or i can see me having to buy a new splitter
-
Cheers for the quick reply but forgive my ignorance.....what the hell is plastic welding?? Something I can do on the drive way?? Cheers
-
After the weather we've had it seems my snow plow 90mm spoiler has now got a small crack in it. Can anybody recommend a product which will repair it?? Or would strong super glue be ok?? Something readily available from likes of Halfords or B&Q would be better. Cheers

Yep still available as I've bought one recently, why have one at least 15 years old when shiny and new is best (well not shiny, primer!). I take it you cant get the silver ones from VW?? Would ARZ be the only place to get a new silver one?? Richi -
Dunno bout that lol.....is it supposed to be kinda McLaren SLR'ish?? Its bloddy fugly anyway :epicfail:
-
I phoned a company called Transcal about retrimming my VR6 wheel and they reckoned about £150 but they would need to have a proper look. Richi
-
Very nice indeed....was a 111R i had before the Corrado....until the credit crunch took a bite out my a**e lol you need to get an induction kit on it as well, either viper or hurricane.....the noise when it goes on cam is out of this world Richi

I've had mines for about a year and a half now and only ever seen one on the road. there is one which is parked up about 5 minutes from me but I've never seen it being driven. As sad as it is that there isnt many on the road do you think this will push the value up of any that are left?? I wonder how many the DVLA have on record??
