Sweet! Have you had much luck hearing back from them? -
It's beginning to a look a lot like Christmas......

I'm not too worried about that Mic, you should see the people I work with! I've tried to persuade Pete at dubpower in the past to do a simple downpipe for the 24v conversion that bolts up to the manifolds and the stock/twin cat back system but he was having none of it. Bit strange really as he does replacement down pipes for normal 4motions and r32's. He must be able to make up a jig based on all of the exhausts he has to make a version for those who don't wish to fit a 6 branch for whatever reason. For me, I'm trying to make mine into a European GT tourer that drives well, looks a bit classy but remains quiet and handle long distance motoring. Last thing I want is a loud 6 branch that becomes a huge heat source in the back of the engine bay. Don't get me wrong, 6 branches have their uses, but for me, on this project, I'm not sold on the idea :-) -

So an exhaust for a homebrew Corrado 24v is simple stuff then! -

Even if you factor in only petrol, a 728 never goes into the same sentence as cheap, unless there is a negative verb involved! -

Cheers mate! That's kind of you! Messing around with stuff like this keeps me happy and I enjoy a project. The main thing holding me back is funds, we've found ourselves in the potential need to buy a house this year instead of next year or two. That means that splashing cash on things like the exhaust becomes difficult to justify. If I could weld then I could sort something out, but I can't, so I won't! -

I hope so mate! There are a few names from on here that I would like to put faces to and to have a look over cars properly! Firstly, I do need to get this back on the road before I get to any shows! -

I get you! Everything to run the engine on the standard ECU has been transferred into the Corrado. The few cranks is battery power related, or at least i'm sure of it! It's a sluggish crank before it does fire, but when it does fire, it runs pretty happily considering there is no exhaust or lambda sensors plugged in! Normally if the battery is in good nick, it cranks once then fires into life. -

I assume you mean wiring et all Clumpy? No, just the stuff required to get the engine up and running. I just run my vehicle lives from here instead of directly from the battery terminal block. The junction box from the Bora has 5 different fused outputs which are simple threaded terminal points which you just screw down. There is a 40A, 2 x 50A, 110A and a 150A fused connection point. Every circuit is obviously fused on the car but a second fused safety point is never bad! -

Bit more time spent on it today, I've partially fitted the battery relocate stuff to the boot. I got up to the local scrappy a bit ago and removed the leads from a E46 BMW 3 series. Only thing I didn't pick up was the actual battery tray as I'm still deciding on what I'm going to do about that. When I broke the donor Bora, I kept a lot of bits that I thought would be useful. One of those things was the was the distribution box on top of the battery for all of the positive feeds on the car. I fabbed up a bracket and attached that and the engine bay positive terminal from the Beemer to it and mounted that in the bay near where the battery used to be. From there I ran the HUGE feed to the boot only to find it about 2 or 3 feet too short! I do need to rig up a fuse though so, getting a few more feet of the stuff and extending the lead, adding a fuse and then fitting the battery should finish it all off! I've got a photo, but it's not very clear and the flash makes it look terrible and shows up how "original" my engine bay paintwork is! I temporarily hooked up the battery to check everything and it all works perfectly well but it does take a few cranks to fire up, but then my battery is past it's best so I'm not hugely concerned for now. If it still like this with a new battery, then I'll look into it again. But for those who like this kind of thing, Photos! -

Just reach up above to pull off the 2 spade connectors for the glove box light. -

Sounds like a relay to me, do they work on ignition one and not in the run position? Those are all items that work when the ignition live circuit is energised. I think it could be the x relief relay, but not sure of the top of my head which one that is. -

You can leave the dash in place, but why would you not want to make you life easier. The dash is only fixed in place by 5 fasteners. 1 on each end, 2 under the wiper mechanisms in the scuttle and 1 behind the centre console base. -

From where you are, the dash is only 10 mins away from being ready to remove. From there on, the heater matrix is fairly simple. If you are unsure of the matrix age, then for peace of mind, I'd do it! It may be worth wrapping any wiring loom up as the standard foam will be long past its best. -

Good effort :-) -
It will. If you had a dsg r32 lump, there is sometimes an adapter on the r32 crank. It looks like a small additional bearing, it should pull of and then you can bolt on the 02a box. I think it's possible to fit the box over this bearing without any side effects but don't quote me!

It's illegal for a start and It looks a bit daft but each to their own.
