Hi I managed to break one of the clifford led door pins fitted to my 16v I would like to take the oppurtunity to change both to be more like more the ones you see fitted to modern cars - I tried one I had spare - bought from maplins ages ago but it does not work - Does anyone know what are the requirements/spec are for replacing the original clifford ones? I found this dummy one on eBay but not sure if it would work as a replacement for the original Thanks in advance.

Hi Just had a set of spax coilovers fitted last week and for the last couple of days the rear set are making a "creaking" noise when put under any sort of load including bouncing them by hand. I will get the guys who fitted them to check it out but I am 250 miles and 1 week away from that happening - anyone got any ideas hat I might be able to do myself to sort? Thanks in advance

Hi Getting a list of parts together (via VW through parts club - I hope) as I want to change all the belts, timing/PS/Alternator and the tensioner for my 1990 16v. I'm sure I read somewhere or was told that I should change the water pump while I'm at it as there is no documented evidence of it having been done in the past. Just wondered what peoples opinion is? Cheers

Hi Thanks for that. There a couple of late door pulls on ebay which is why I was asking the question. Finishes today so hope you can get on to them. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=004

I have read some threads re wiring late mirror switches to early looms when people have swapped door cards - but will the later door pulls that have the mirror switch built in fit on to the early type door card?

Hi Got a set of GY eagle F1fitted in 195/50/15 and got a set of VW centre caps to replace BMW ones and very pleased with the result. The car feels great on the road and I personally like the BBS cross spoke wheel. Thanks for the advice guys. thanks for the rely. I think I will go for 195/50 - just phoned "auto image" in Edinburgh and they do Goodyear Eagle F1 in that size for £45 a corner! By far the cheapest I could find. Very helpfull lady so hope to get booked in next week.

Hi Just bought a set of BBS wheels of a BMW E30 et 24 pcd 100 - £40 for 5! fitted them to my 1990 16v and they look great. Tyres are a mixture of non premium and I would be planning on fitting a new ones. At the moment the tyre size fitted is 205/55/15. and I am getting a slight rubbing on full lock with the arch liner at the rear of the wheel. Would fitting 205/50 or 205/45 help? or are they just not going to work. oh - and standard suspension as far as I can tell. Thanks in advance

Hi Just been doing a few jobs on the 16v I bought recently and discovered that who ever had installed the kenwood components had not used any crossovers ie they had just spliced the cables together that ran from the mids and tweeters to the head unit. So - where can I buy crossovers (does anyone have any to sell?) - or does it really make all that of a differance? Any help appreciated

OK - I have sorted this out - not sure if this was what was intended by MOMO but it works! I used the horn button from my present MOMO wheel and mounted it on to the Runner. The Runner then has a front leather horn area cover and behind it is a rubber protrusion (yes, yes I know!) and that presses on to the horn button - Hey Presto one working fantastic looking steering wheel. I have ordered a plain horn button so that I can put that on instead of the one from my Fighter Wood as it is covered up. Hope that makes sense - If there is anyone wanting it I could post a few pics when I take it all apart again to fit the plain button.

Hi I recently purchased a Momo runner wheel second hand but when I received it there is no electrical horn operating mechanism. Does anyone know how I might go about fitting some sort of system or indeend if there is a "kit" available?
