  1. Hi Just paid visit to Autowerke in Edniburgh who have looked after my cars for many years only to find them shut down. Spoke to the guy in the next init and he said they had gone into receivership. I can't believe it. They were always busy and were excellent mechanics - has anyone heard anything?
  2. Ok - looks like Germany is the way to go. Will keep a note of your details and if I do end up moving - will see how you got on with your sourcing of one there. Thanks again
  3. What about the USA? - is that the same spec model they got? - just had a look on ebay canada and there were a couple for sale in LA - with free shipping yo Canada
  4. Hi Thanks for the replys - I was in Ontario, about 40 mins from Windsor (small town called Kingsville) and just accross from Detroit. Good to hear that the VR6 is available - and with fuel costing $0.90 a litre (£0.45!!!) it sounds better by the day! Looks like my VR6 may be going on the market over here in the near future - that will be a sad day.
  5. Hi After a wonderful trip to Canada - I am seriously thinking of moving there! What is the corrado life like there? - are they available to buy or is it a serious option to ship my VR6 out? And then what are the requirements to make it legal? Any info much appreciated
  6. My apologies to the corrado that flashed me as I headed south on the A9 today near Dunkeld - sorry I did not respond but my phone was ringing!
  7. The RS ones as you say are 70.6 but I emailed the guy and quoted the BBS part no for the RC (09.24.410) and he replied saying he could supply them as well at the same price. I received them today (fantastic service - 4 day since order placed) and can confirm they are the correct RC cap (in the original silver and white) - now just to get the spin off cap refurbished!
  8. The original silver and white caps are impossible to source in the UK (or so I was told by importers!) - I am waiting for delivery from a supplier in Germany at £35 incl. postage for 4. According to him only the silver ones are available.
  9. It will but will be sit further back and dosn't look quite right. I did this a while back and what I did was use the original housing and the new lighting section and saved loads of cash as the early lights are (were) considerably cheaper. I did a write up about the job for the ccgb sprinter magazine ages ago and also on the club website. You may find it if you do a serch but it may now be lost!
  10. Hi I recently cleaned a subaru impetza and it had the best looking and feeling(!) momo steering wheel which I believe is standard fit. Does anyone know if they can be adapted to fit a momo boss as fitted to my VR6 (after deactivating the air bag I guess!)
  11. I have just finished drying out my VR6 as well and would strongly advise you to check out under the carpets as the felt underlay on mine was soaking and must have been damp for a period off time. I discovered 3(!) leaks in total, around the air intake to the heater as the guys said before was choked with leaves, the door membrane was leaking and where the clowns that fitted my alarm had drilled through the bulk head for a cable so it came up straight up and the sealant they put round it had perished allowing water to come down behind the fuse box. Anyway the felt was rotten and stank!
  12. At my last service I was told it was begining to leak so had a limited life
  13. Hi Just been up to Western VW in Edinburgh to price up a power steering pump and when I mentioned CCGB membership was told they offer 18% discountThat brings the pump down to £135 plus vat (after £10 surcharge for old unit is applied) - which compares favourably with ECP Maybe VW are at last comming to their senses! :D
  14. Thanks very much guys - appeciate your help
  15. Hi following a flooded footwell I removed the front seat, carpets, replaced the felt unerlay and put everything back (after fixing the leak - i hope!) but i now have this bit left over - can't remebber where i removed it from!. it looks like some sort of fixing clip as it is solid ie does not have an aperture. anyone recognize it please?
  16. Price for VR6 is normally £70 plus vat (£80.50) for full valet (interior and exterior) Discount is 15% for corrado club members as I feel an extra bonus is due to guys that join the club but the forum is a great medium also so I am offering forum members who are not ccgb members 10% Other prices are : small cars (eg mini) £60 plus vat. medium (eg corrado, 3 series bmw) £70 plus vat large (eg 4x4 or volvo estate ) £80 plus vat Time required approx 5 hrs
  17. Yep - there are about 15 franchises in England so far, one in Ireland and I am the first in Scotland. Again if anyone is interested check out the website to see if you have someone close - I can only offer the discount in my own area though!
  18. No - car does not have to be "clean" first - I have recently done three 4x4 for the British Geological survey group and these babys are not used for the school run!!! - see below
  19. Basically we use a "dry wash" (and yes the formula is a secret - and not available to buy!) that contains a number of chemicals that form a gel totally trapping dirt allowing me to wipe off - other chemicals then smooth out the paint, add protective uv filters and a final polymer paint protective. I thourghly checked out this procedure and not only does it not harm the surface but gives every bit as good a finish as I have experienced (I have used a lot of expensive products in my time!) Please check out the website for further info on procedures/products
  20. Thanks - have edited the initial post and pics are there :)
  21. Tried to attach pics but seems file was to large - what is the max file size for picures (ie number of pixels)? :?
  22. Thought I would let you guys know that I have recently embarked on a major career (life?!) change. After 22 years in the IT industry I have acquired the Edinburgh franchise (and for the time being most of the central belt in Scotland) for “the waterless detailers” We are a specialist vehicle valeting company that can clean a car (or any other vehicle) to show room condition without water. Those of you that may know me will know that I only allow quality products near my VR6 and this is as good as it gets! Please see attached pics of my corrado after I valeted it using our products. Also check out our website at: http://www.waterlessdetailers.co.uk Corrado Forum members receive 10% discount on any vehicle they own.
  23. I got them from Dubsport when I was working in that area - but it now involves a 500 mile rounf trip to go and see them - I hoped that FK might have a local dealer in the Edinburgh area I could vist. I will try the Koni route as I'm sure they must have a local agent!
  24. Roads here are like every where else it seems ie sh*te! - will try and contact koni - thanks for the tip.
  25. Thats what I am trying to get a reply from FK for - but so far no response!
