  1. Just to add my voice in praise of turn2 - I've had the CAI from them (prompt enough delivery - better than some uk suppliers!) and before that their alloy VR6 pulley and stage 3 engine mounts. All top quality gear and as I've said very profesional company to deal with. Recomended.
  2. Not had my car serviced by them but have had coilovers and an exhaust supplied and fitted by them and they are top blokes to deal with - would not hesitate to use them for mechanical work if I lived in the area (I work near by a few days here and there) HTH

    Handbrake Gaiter

Just to confirm that no it dosn't ride up at all. Sorry due to work commitments I was unable to get the promised photo of the gaitor in place.

    Handbrake Gaiter

I got the handbrake cover plus a steering wheel and gear knob directly from the isotta site and delivered from Italy (quicker than some stuff I've ordered from the UK!) price approx (they are given in sterling on the site) £46 Fits OK - I will take a pic of it in place tomorrow when I get home and post it here. Very pleased with the product isotta.com HTH

    Handbrake Gaiter

I have a Isotta hand brake cover and combined gaiter - I will post a pic of it fitted when I get home tomorrow. I think it looks ok and it works fine and has its own chrome "button"
  6. I would love to do this upgrade. But when chatting to a very knowledgeable mechanic a while back- he warned that the callipers being alloy expand and contract a lot during heavy use. This leads to them having to be stripped a rebuilt on a fairly regular basis. Does this sound likely? :?
  7. I have been running with my turn2 cai induction kit for 3 weeks plus now and on a recent journey through the highlands had to drive in some of the worst weather I can recall - absolutly teeming down. This lead to large amounts of standing water on the road which I hit at speed a couple of times (trying to pass convoys of tourists travelling nose to tail at 40 mph!) Anyway my engine seems to have survived!!! :D :D

added a couple of exterior pics (first posting) - internal to follow (when I've cleaned it!)
  9. Yep - I love that car - it got my vote!
  10. Hi I have one which is brand new never fitted and still in its original box and wrapping. It is actually for a mk4 golf but will fit a corrado (instructions from a VWCCGB supplied). I believe they do make a considerable difference but I have decided to leave mine as standard. They cost in the region of £120 rrp - I will sell mine fo £90 incl delivery.
  11. The memory unit must be in the speedo because when I swapped the complete unit from my old VR6 (94) to my present 95 VR6(as I had alloy effect dials) - and on connecting up the mileage showed the reading from my OLD VR6. Needless to say I swapped them back!!!
  12. Hi I intend to blank off the pipes this evening - what would you suggest I use? TIA
  13. Finally got round to fitting my turn2 cai last night. A couple of things 1) The filter being so low - I recall a couple of stories about early Audi Quattros which had their air box duct down near the front bumper, and when they hit e.g. flooded roads - sucking water into the engine and suffering extensive engine damage sue to "thermal shock". Anyone think this is a problem worth worrying about? 2) Does anyone know what that electrical connection associated with the pipe work is for?
  14. £5 paid - thanks for your efforts
  15. Just picked the VR6 up from paint shop and very pleased with the result. Not cheap (£813) but they have done an excellent job. Asked the guys about the best thing to do and they have said to just wax. So next week when I get back home - it will be a full day valeting inside and out plus it will be zymol time! :D
  16. Looks worth a try so I've ordered up a kit which includes the anti fog stuff for inside - will post a report when I have had a chance to try it out

Yep - I was able to order up the Gas Pedal cover on its own - PS anyone want to buy the RHD cover!!!! :?

Hi - You probably made the same error as I initially made ie I simply asked for a set of Audi TT pedals. Reasonably enough, the parts guy ordered up a set for RHD TT - BUT you actually require a set for a LHD TT. the GAS pedal cover for the LHD version is larger and fits ok if you straighten it slightly and I also used double sided trim tape just for extra security and 6 months on it has been fine. HTH I am picking her up on Sat following a front end respray so will be taking some pics and posting them here. I had the pulley fitted the same time as I had the engine mounts done and the whole feel of the car under acceleration felt like an improvement ie she seemed to rev better and the new engine mounts kept the whole thing "tighter" - I would say that I think it was worth it.

  20. Hi Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the various options for paint work protection. I have the VR6 in for a front end (doors all the way forward) respray and wondered if its worth going to some some like zebart and getting a "protective coating" applied. Or am I as well off spending time with my zymol waxes.
  21. Yep - I'll have one a thanks... Cheers Ray (VR6)
  22. Hi Does anyone know if you can get plastic parts "chrome plated" - I would like to get a set of heater control switches ( the later round type) done. Also I have heard that an Astra chrome gear stick gate (from richbrook - I think) will fit the corrado - again does anyone know if its true and if so which model? TIA Ray
  23. Hi Managed to source a glass passat s/r from volks-apart and will be attemping to fit it soon. I have removed a s/r from my old corrado and it was a straight forward enough task and I would have thought that fitting the passat job would be a simple case of dropping the complete unit in, connecting the motor a then ensuring that everything was adjusted and moving freely. But all the posts I have read (including a massive technical effort from CCUSA) makes the job look a lot scarier than that. Where are the pitfalls before I bodge it!!!! TIA
