Hi Guys I got a pair of M3 style side skirts off ebay but the fixing brackets are totally shot and I needed to grind them away to get them off. Does anyone know where I can source replacements? here is a pic off what one of them looks like now!

Hi kev That was my first thought as the bonnet switch is right by the battery/loom set up but all looks ok when I checked it. Maybe I should check again. Thanks

Hi Just wonderering if anyone can tell me if I have "upset" my clifford concept 50 alarm by fitting an upgraded headlight loom. Since I fitted the loom (big difference) I am getting warning messages when I first start the car "attention sensor 1 was active" and "boot trigger was active" I am guessing it may be something with voltage but hoped someone might be able to confirm or point me in another direction. Thanks in advance

Hi If anyone is looking for a nice OE type gear knob for their corrado can I suggest you check this out. I have one fitted to mine and it looks and feels really nice. Not to much modifying required to get it to fit. I paid allot more than this for mine a few years ago!!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-GENUINE-VW-POLO-6Q-9N-WOODEN-ANTHRACITE-GEARKNOB-/260587077460?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cac333f54

Door handle repair kit..........THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE
ray_vr6 replied to daves16v's topic in Suppliers Forum
I bought a set of these a while back knowing I would eventually need them and this week I did! The passenger handle broke and I replaced the pin yesterday - top piece of kit and thoroughly recommended -
I have just fitted an upgraded headlight loom the other day and also decided to fit some Osram Night Breaker Bulbs. I thought it would be easier to remove the headlights to change the bulbs (essential for offside?) and all the securing screws were well and truly rusted. I soaked them in penetrating spray overnight and next day got all of them out except the nearside recessed one (the one you have to access through an hole in slam panel) which was already partially rounded but my efforts have resulted in now being completely so! Can anyone advise on how to remove the damaged screw? PS the upgraded lights are so much better! PPS Also replaced my weedy horn set up with a pair of Sebel magnum horns!

Hi Looking for a Momo Fighter Wood steering wheel. I used to have one of these and really regret selling it. Does anyone have one for sale? Must be in A1 condition. Cheers

My wonderfull 1990 16v has just passed its MOT with a minimal ammount of welding required to the front subframe - very happy chappy!

Thanks Guys. She started OK after 5 mins and has been running fine since! I took out the air filter today and there was evidence of water in the air box. While I was working on it I noticed the air feed from the rear and which should be attched to the exhaust manifold was hanging loose and pointing towards the ground. The mounting points had rusted away. I have reattched on a temp basis (the mounting bolts are rusted solid). Could this have been a contributing factor? 20 year old cars - what are they like????

Hi On my way home last night in awful weather I hit a flooded dip and the engine cut out and it took 5 mins cranking to get going again. I guess I got a bunch of water into the electrics but the distributor is quite high up in the engine and would thought it would not have drenched that. Anyone have any thoughts on what caused it and is there anything that can be done to reduce the risk of it happening again (I travel late each night through some very very rural area much of it without a mobile signal!)

Hi Craig I ended up not using them as it was the pipes to the resevouir I needed and I ended up selling them on the forum. Sorry can't be of any more help

OK - so I will need to source a late motor and I guess while I'm at it may as well fit late style switches/cover as well?

Hi I've got an oppurtunity to buy a late (95) sunroof cartridge and wondered if it would fit my early (90) 16v without having to change motors/switches etc? Thanks in advance

Hi Everyone I managed to make a right mess of my sunroof head lining when removing it to work on the sunroof! I think the only solution is to strip the old fabric off and glue some new stuff on. Does anyone know what the best option for replacement fabric is? Cheers

Hi Don't recall seeing any C shaped white gasket when I removed the old handles. Where abouts does it get positioned? Cheers

Hi Recently fitted two new door handles and the drivers one is not fitting snugly against the outer door skin i.e. when I use the handle there is a slight amount of play when I pull on it. It has the gasket fitted and the securing screw is tightened ok Anyone had a similar problem? Thanks In advance

Further to the above - today I took the interior light unit off and used the manual crank to see what would happen and it is exactly the same ie I can manually tilt OK but once again when trying to slide it just moves the panel below the level of the roof and then nothing it feels as though it is jammed. So can anyone give me an idea of what has gone wrong? Thanks again
-
Hi I recently did the old slide back the headlining bit as per previous posts to try and locate and sort the now familiar sunroof rattle. After fitting some foam to rear edge I pushed the trim back and it all clicked into place ok but when I went to operate the sunroof the tilt bit works ok but it will not now slide and just delivers a clunk as though it’s jammed (it was working ok a week ago). I have done some thing wrong in the above process or am I just unlucky and the slide action is broken as per many other users? Thanks in advance for your thoughts (and hopefully a remedy!)

Thanks for that - I connected the led I have directly to battery and it flashes so not sure if that is another reason it will not work with the alarm as that requires a solid light when the valet mode is selected on the alarm. Could not see any resistor so presume its built into housing. If you are able to supply me with something resembling the dummy one above that would work as a direct replacement for the bulb one fitted at the moment I would be interested so if you could let me know including prices I would be grateful Thanks again for reply
