Just back from my trip to collect the aircon system from Dinkus. On route were the Hertford tunnels on the M25, couldn't resist dropping down and blasting though. Here ya go.... Tunnel

Evening All, Made the trip to sunny Essex tonight to pickup the second aircon system (thanks for your help scruffy). Took a few pics of the bits and the holes that need to be drilled in the bulkhead. Still a little unsure of the pipe runs around the fans and the radiator as that was all disembled already. So any pipes of the pipes in situ would be great. The other thing that I am unsure about is a wiring connection, at the botton lefthand corner of the main wiring diagram is a connector with Green, Gey/Yellow and brown wires that was disconnected on Dinkus's setup and bigpants cant remember if it was connected to anything. The wiring diagram calls it the 'connection for minimum idle, see diagram 4'. If you look at diagram 4 it shows these wires connected to a green and blue/red wire......but where are these wires in the car? The connecter was inside the car hanging over the top of the evaporater box. Does anyone know if this should be connected, if so to what? The fans are different makes on the two systems I have, ones a Spal and the other is a Valeo. The boxes are also slightly different moldings. Cheers Andy

Thanks Bruno, going to pick the other aircon setup tomorrow eve. Which is mostly still fitted, so I think I should be ok. But will shout if needed. Thanks. Andy

same engine as the Vealtis (wrong spelling) and the Nissan QX. I think its a Nissan engine though. Got a 350 on my drive at the mo, my mate is away on hols for a couple of weeks and storing it here. The Corrado looks good next to it though, A testiment to a 15 year old design!

Picked up my first aircon system from Bigpantsbaby last night. (Thanks Bigpants). Will take some pics tonight of all the bits. Has anyone got any pics of the installed pipe runs?? I'm particually interested in how the pipes run from the compressor. But any pics would be very useful.

Autotechnic in Southampton are another place to concider. My car had a rebuild a couple of years ago for bore honing and chains. I think it was about the 1300 quid mark. They a good reliable company. But if you can get it up to Stealth fairy easily I would ahve it done up there....seems to be the place for VR's. -
you can get special bolts from VW to allow extra camber. Afriad I dont know the part numbers. The bolts replace the top bolt on the strut to hub joint. The bolts are slightly smaller in diameter and a allow a few more degrees of adjustment.

Top job Storm. I'm buying both of the kits that are currently for sale, one for me and one for a mate. I will do a full write up while doing the two.

what did that cost ya? 65 a wheel, but it was 4 years ago, I rebuilt the wheels with new bolts. -
Just renewed my insurance and found a slip advertising free windscreen repairs though the RAC. They came yesterday and popped some resin in a couple of stone chips I had (each where contained within an area of a pound coin). They seem less visable now and hopefully will not go any further. And all for free!

Have had a copy of sets done there.... BBS RM's with the rim polished and a set of Esterols with a diamond cut finish. A mate had a set of Esterols done too. All came back spotless and like new, also very well packaged. -

Pristine are very good, your wheels will come back looking better than new. The workshop is state of the art with a proper powder coat plant. -
have you tried changing the cap on the expansion tank?? Check the oring and see if its ok. If this cap leaks it allowed the system to boil as you describe. Around fiver from VW

Recommend 17cm components for my new Audioscape Pods
Andy Brookes replied to Andy Brookes's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Sorry Chris. I was only having a quick look on ebay, the first time in ages and they had 9 mins to run......luck of the draw! -
Hi All, Just snapped up some Audioscape Pods on ebay for £99, suprised I was the only bidder! Anyway I need to fill them. I have in the Garage waiting to go in a Sony MD head unit, Alpine 4 Channel V12 and a pair of JBL 6x9's in a rear shelf. So just need some front speakers, can anyone recommend a good set of components for the front. Want to stay a fairly sensible budget of £100 quid. Thanks Andy
