Just having a looksie round the CCC website and found this pic, its real class. If i'm correct the pic is of a guy called Dennis on the CCC forum. He seems a top chap and hope he doesnt mind me posting it. I'm sure he's in fancy dress (I hope!!!). Makes me laugh everytime I see it...... anyone got any other pic's to brighten up a sleepy friday afternoon.

Correct. Not sure what the plastic panel surround includes, would think nothing.
-
thinking I may have got the price wrong, as I also enquired about the heater control panel at the same time. So I think the control was £149 and the plastic was £97. Sorry to confuse.

There are a few, none that I have used though. My C was serviced by Hines in Ferndown for much of its live, not sure how good their prices are. John Munyard (CCGB Chairman) uses a Guy called John Regan (who used to be a partner in Hines), John recommends him highly. Regan Motor Co 1b, Cardigan Rd, Bournemouth, Dorset BH9 1BB Tel: 01202 532644. Then there is Autotecknic in Southampton, I have used them a fair few times and so have many friends. Always recommended. Hope that helps. PS, are you coming to the meet on sunday at the Smugglers Haunt in Ferndown????

Where are all these lovely C's coming from. I wonder how many are hidden away around the country!

Did you claim your 10% discount being a member of CCGB, Breeze are good for the discount. -
Yep, sounds like the clutch release bearing, mine does it at the mo. No need to worry really as it will gone on for years and years. Just annoying! Its a gaerbox off job to pop a new one in, so best to put up with it until you need a new clutch or chains doing etc... I had a new clutch put in my G60 a few years ago, but the new release bearing squealed, they replaced it twice in the end, must have been a bad batch of release bearings.
-
I have a funny clutch noise too..... not sure if its the same as yours. After I have let the clutch out for the first time in the morning I get a clunk noise a couple of seconds after. Not always, say 60% of the time. Also have a squeakie Clutch pedal in the car and a squeckie release bearing when my foot is reating on the clutch pedal in traffic. Think i might drop in an autobox!!!!

Autotechnic in Southampton can get H&R's, I hope its not them being unhelpful as they arent usually. -
1k sounds about right to me for a professional retrim. The leather costs about £100 a hide, so the material cost is £300 to £500 before you pay a man or lady to sew.
-
Have been looking for leather for ages, but most cost to much for worn out interiors, so started looking around to get mine retrimmed. While searching on the net I found a few suppliers of hides and was surprised at how inexpensive a hide is. My estimate would be a couple of hides for a retrim including door panel trim areas (not full door panels). Have also found a supplier for Alcantara so may look at using that instead of leather or as centre panels etc. A few years back I bought an audi quattro leather interior from Kim Collins that needed a few panels replaced, This was very easy. So think I would be capable of machining up a new interior using the old seats as patterns. I guess those that have had a retrim done maybe able to answer the how many hides question.
