  1. Looks like new, would be scared to leave it out. Very Nice
  2. I hear what your saying, but I was very impressed with the clifford I had before. I installed it by soldering and heatshrinking every connection and I think that is the thing that makes an alarm reliable or not, its the installation. I didnt have one problem with it in the 2.5 years I had the car, dont think Nigel (G60 Jet) has any problems with it either in the same amount of time he has had the car. Never heard of Autowatch. Toad was the favorate last year. Any other ideas on where to get the Avantguard G5?
  3. Hi All, For my last Corrado I managed to buy a Clifford G4 Ace7500 alarm in the states for £185ish, this including engine start, blackjax and loads of other stuff. Fancy the same sort of thing on my current C. Anyone know the best place to get an Avantguard G5? Want to fit it myself like i did the last one as I dont trust alarm installers generally. Cheers Andy
  4. looking great phat. What did you use to put the underseal on?? I know you said you used VW stuff in my post about seam sealer. Would you have the part numbers for the underseal and the seam sealant?? Thanks
  5. tried to get some last year but gave up in the end. even tried a pug garage. Where do you get them from OSV
  6. just chipping in on the mondeo thing. My Father-in-law wrote off his car late last year. He had a budget of £1700, for his 1700 quid he not only wanted a neat reliable car, but also wanted, it to be a diesel have central locking, lecy windows, a tow bar and aircon!!! so started looking though all the normal rags and noted mondeo prices. Had a look at a few, some of which where total dogs, found a good one though in the end. For 1450 quid I found him an R reg (so late big headlamps) 100k turbo diesel with all the options he wanted including the towbar. And I must say it drives very well. Another option is the Seat Ibiza. My wife drives my old L reg diesel that I picked up for £600 a year or so ago. Its got 141k on it, but has loads more life left in it. Also does 50 to the gallon.

  12. A friend has a 350Z and has fitted an uprated earting kit. I remember when I had my last G60 that there was a bit of chat about fitting better and additional earths to help performance etc etc. Since I did my front end strip down my C is not so eager to start, turns over a few times. No I have a feeling that the earths are not as good as they were before and this is causing the problems. Has anyone fitted better/more earths. If so did you see any differences??? Also wondering where the additional earths should be. Had a quick look at my mates 350 and he has loads of new leads. What do ya think
  13. Hi All, Once I have welded up the small hole I have in my inner wing, I want to seal it up with a seam sealant like the factory use. Anyone know of a supplier?
  14. where's my big white phone!!!!!
  15. power steering pipe, is it a crimped junction or is there a jubliee clip??? If its the crimped pipe, new pipe will be needed and I would think a bitch to fit as I think it goes to the PS rack. If jubliee clip, hopefully tighting it will stop the leak. Check you PS fulid level.
  16. http://www.doctronics.co.uk/resistor.htm Very useful and simple for my mechanical brain!

  19. http://corradoclubusa.com/calendar/ Junes picture looks familiar....... E38 Replica
  20. As timo says it can be done without removing the front end.......but I replaced my rad, put samco's in new thermostat, oil cooler etc etc. I removed the front end and it wasnt difficult at all, and it made everything so accessable. The time spent fiddling could be the same time taken to remove the front end. But obviously its your choice. I also took the opertunaty to have the subframe and rad support blasted and powder coated.
  21. There are 8 LED's (4 pairs) which replace the original spider (2, 4, 8 and 10 o'clock). These led's pass light into the original light pipes attached to the cover panel. These LED's also light the centre ring as I have machined away part of the black housing (best explained by looking at the pic's) I have removed the original centre clear diffuser which sat in the part I have machined away, and also removed the green diffuser from the cover panel. These are replaced with the clear tube running around the centre control knob to provide the diffusion, other wise the led's shine through and you get bright spots. I have 2 extra LED's at 12 o'clock to light the top of the centre ring. I have one further led providing light to the left of the flap control knob, this is diffused with another piece of tube. There is no need (or space) to have an LED on the Fan speed side, as the fan numbers light up very nicely using the standard light pipe in the cover plate. One thing I havent mentioned is the lightpipes for the knobs themselves, I originally found some red light pipes in my wifes Ibiza, but found they were to large to fit under the Corrado Knobs. I have ended up using 3 clear outer lightpipes that I found in the Passat controls and a set of Golf 3 heater controls I had. The centre lightpipe with the bulb has hit the bin. Each of these lightpipes has an LED shining through. I hope that clears up any confussion. Shout if you have any more questions.
  22. yep spider is in the bin, each dial has its own led.
  23. the camera has real difficulty taking the lit pics, the light is red'er in real life and the top of the centre ring doesnt look as bright as it does in the pic's.
