  1. Take the cap off and have a look inside, you will see an o ring around the centre plastic diameter within the cap. Mine had popped out of its groove and was causing the above problem. The cooling system needs to be pressurized to work at high temp's, if this o ring is damaged or not sitting correctly, the system has a leak and therefore boils and dumps all the coolant out off the expansion tank overflow. The new cap only cost me £3.50 and all is fine now. Almost seems to simple to fix!!!
  2. sorted, the seal on the cap had come adrift, fitted a new cap as the old seal looked a bit knackered anyway. Thanks for all the replies. Cheers Andy
  3. Afternoon all, The VR is playing up today, stopped this morning to fill up the washer fluid and while I was at it checked the coolant was just a touch below max. As I was only a couple of miles from home I thought the coolant would not be that warm...I was wrong and it dumped out of the side of the expansion tank. I let it all settle and filled her up with the engine running as per normal. Set of for the rest of my 30 mile jorney to work, no problems, normal temps etc etc. Stoppe din the carpark at work and notice steam arising from the nearside of the bonnet, flipped the bonnet to find the overflow of the expansion tank blowing, with the water in the tank boiling. I put this down to the seal not sealing correctly after replacing the cap. Just popped out to lunch to get the xmas sprirts from Sainsbury's and had a similar thing happen once back here at work. Is these the signs of a knackered cap.....or is there something else up??

  20. I had weitec coilovers on my old g60, had to change the rear springs to half the poundage just to make it anything but rock hard. Took them off inthe end as it was just too hard even with the softer spring. I have koni on the VR, very happy with the ride.
  21. I seem to remember seeing a reciept for those very pipes in the batch that the guy gave me when I bought the car. Will double check. Cheers Andy
  22. main reason for them is to have a new set of hoses, rather than looking to jazz up the engine bay....so black it is. Thanks All
  23. your such a joker Dr Mat!!!!! laughing my socks off at that one! Think i'm going to stay subtile with the hose, thinking of colour coding the black lead holders and the engine cover, that will be enough bling with the polished manifold.
  24. I'm going to get some samco's (thanks Asim), but dont know what colour to go for......should I stay subtile and go for black, or should I go for blue. What do you reckon?? My C is Silver. What colours do have fitted to yours? Got any pics? Do the coloured ones get dirty easily and look dodgy after a while? Any opinians greatly received.
