Andy Brookes replied to Andy Brookes's topic in General Car Chat
keep umm coming, think we have decided its got to be a 100 Avant now as John is really taken with the number of air vents on the dash!!!! We are going for the long low look, the suspension will be dumped and will find some phat wheels. We are going for style points!!!!! -

thats not looking so bad, but think we are going to stick with VAG. Never had a Volvo so dont know them to well mechanically and would rather not a turbo on an old motor. Like the look of the leather though! -

tis now! Just missed out on a 1991 Audi 100 on the trader for £100, it was a peach, later style, 2.3 auto..... the search continues! -
After seeing Dec's post about his £56 Scirocco and his entry into the http://www.ScallyRally.co.uk myself and a couple of mates who all work in the same office and all drive Corrado's decided we fancied a go too. Just paid the enterance fee this morning, so should get our number sometime today. We are now on the look out for a Passat GL5 Estate, pref post 83 as they are fuel injected. Anyone got one stored away that they would sell for £100 or less?? We are currently trying to secure sponsorship from work and local garages for spares and tyres etc. We will be collecting sponsorship for Breast Cancer as we have all have had close family or friends fight breast cancer in the last couple of years. Our team name is Team Rado, but this may change depending on sponsorship deals!

Just got a place on the scally rally as well. Cool Look forward to racing you Dec. We are now on the search for a Passat GL5 Estate!

Yeah I did that to the old G60 Jet, cant remember what I used as the vent now, but if you look at a lot of new cars they have vents in these areas as standard.

try running some vinegar on the blades, cleans them up nice

Sorry to see the damage, looks to me like someone has side swipped it from the front to the rear, hence the marks on the wing and the weird effects on the rear bumper, the bumper looks like it has been bent rearwards and then spung back. Do you see what I'm trying to explain? Wonder it it was a motorbike to be able to catch just the bumper like that.
-
petrol heads was rubbish, think it maybe because of Neil Morrisy.
-
I think thats the outside temp sensor, would think the plug that should plug into that is stuffed up inside the bumper somewhere. Would think someones had the bumper off in the past and forgot to plug it back in.

doesnt the thread title read no VAG, thats no VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Bentley, Lambo...anything else I have missed! So that rules out a lot of the cars above. With that lot above out the way its very difficult to find a car I like apart from Porsche, but they are nearly part of VAG! Really can't think of anything at the mo,

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
Andy Brookes replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Un-covered the c from its sleep today, battery was dead as a dodo, nothing on the dash at all. So connected up another battery and she started within a second of turning the key. Not bad seeing as she has been sleeping since october. Have no rigged up my trickle charger to keep the battery topped up. Went for a quick blast round the block.....big smile and woohoo noises! Reminds me why I like Corrado's so much. Oh well back to driving the Old Seat Ibiza for a couple of more months. -
lots of masking tape and a drill and jigsaw. Sketch the hole required using a compass. Mask the leather effect material with a few layers of masking take. Drill and 10mm or so hole near the edge of the sketch, then jigsaw carefully the hole. Just go careful and use plenty of tape.

For those of you with a suspension fetish

the description about compressing the spring is a load of noncence! The better ride quality comes about by using the whole travel of the shock at all set ride heights. -
