  1. Good Luck with that one mate. We all know insurance companies try to get away with paying as little as possible when a claim is made so without an agreed value it's difficult to be sure until it happened and is indeed a big risk to take. Suppose it depends if they depreciate the modifications or take them as being priced as new when paying out like for like. Check the small print carefully! Doesn't really help much but I've been with Adrian Flux for years, had a few non fault claims and have been perfectly happy with them. Mine is not however modded to that extent and all were fairly small payouts.

Jim. I hate to prove you wrong but it really is achievable. http://www.outdoortoysworld.co.uk/p/Classic_Red_Pedal_Car.htm?affiliate=gbase&gclid=CNXckaani7UCFUFb3god8BcA7A OK. So it's £7.99 over budget but it's a brand spanker! There was never any specification as to whether it would include an engine!

I'll sell you a spare alloy, old steering wheel and maybe chuck in an old head unit for that!
  5. £20 will get you approx 15 litres of fuel. This equals 3.3 gallons. Based on an average of 23mpg You'd get about 80 miles from 20 quid but this obviously depends on your driving style. As far as I understand VR6 and 2l 16v are suprisingly pretty similar on fuel consumption. I get approx 20mpg from my 2l 16v based on 2 6 mile rush hour journeys a day taking about 30 mins each way. Less to go wrong on a 2l 16v I think but either way parts etc are expensive so make sure you have a bit of spare cash to keep her running. Plenty of info on here as to benefits / drawbacks of each using search function. Good luck!
  6. Never seen a B&M one tbh so can't comment. They are a great bit of kit though and I imagine massively cheaper than a b&M kit if you could ever find a second hand one.
  7. No. He normaly has them made up so will send you one and then you just return yours once its out for a partial refund if he can re-use it. Have one of his kits in mine. Makes such a difference!
  8. there's a thread for removal here http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?35476-Taking-the-sun-roof-apart&highlight=removing+sunroof You shouldn't need power as there's a manual opener on them anyway. Seems like a pretty time consuming task from what I've read so you may be better carefully cutting round the roof to get it out. I'm no expert on breaking cars though!
  9. I recognise the colour. It's definately not a Corrado colour. I think I may have seen it (or something very similar) on an audi A3. Hard to tell from a picture though.
  10. Jonesy. What bits have you got? I need just a farty little guide and am a bit loathed to fork our for a full repair kit if i can help it. Cheers John
  11. Welcome to the forum. Good to see you have gone back to corrado after your bad luck with the first but I suppose for an enthusiast that's the pull the car has
  12. Seems like they're not the only company going down this route. Check out the Mclaren city car http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/murray/t25/first-drives/murray-t25 Wouldn't be seen dead in that either. Back to the Aston I reckon it will be the preferred car of spoilt daddys girls everywhere soon to be seen on the streets of your local wealthy rural suberbs rather than in the citys. I wonder if they've yet sucumbed to a pink leather interior? I wonder what the true Aston enthusiast thinks about it as surely one of the main reasons you would buy a proper Aston is because of its exclusivity and this addition makes the badge more affordable to the masses. Unlikely that anyone other than the wealthy would splash out on it but you never know!
  13. Has anyone got any of these knocking about? They hold the carpet down in various places and are used behind the lower dash trays to secure them up behind the pedals. I'm missing two from behind my pedals and the clutch pedal is catching on the part of the lower trim that juts out.
  14. I think reading the article on C02 emissions which i hadn't heard about gives both arguements credibility. They obviously had to come up with something to lower emissions and I don't suppose they've ever particularly considered the elecric option so would be well behind in R&D on that front. Because of this they came up with a gimmic to bypass it for now and probably make a fair bit of money doing, as like jim said it is purely a fasion accessory for the rich and will no doubt be pretty popular. I really don't think you could ever like somebody who bought this car though!
  15. Was just showing my son the Aston Martin Vanquish on their website and noticed a car called a Cygnet. Had a look and it turns out Aston have developed a City Car based on the shell of an Aygo. Best pics and write up I can find is here. http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/first-drives/aston-martin-cygnet What does everyone reckon this does for Astons brand image and would anyone buy one? Like the write up says its aimed at Aston Drivers who need a city car alongside their more expensive main motor and I can see that they will probably sell pretty well.
  16. of course a problem with the ignition switch would also lead to it not starting. Looks like you've found the most likely culprit
  17. Aftermarket lights are readily available. I got a set from a company called Venom Motorsports but there are many more places. Best place for body parts is the breaking section on here. To be honest this is probably your first port of call for anything corrado. Good luck with your car hunt! One of the latest posts has a set of smoked lights available if your quick :)
  18. Nice One Cheers. I had wondered why the alarm still blinked them but if it has it's own control then that answers that one. Much appreciated
  19. Thanks for the reply. I had a feeling that would probably be the first thing to look at and for once it looks like its a part you don't need to sell one of your vital organs to fund a purchase!!
  20. My indicators work fine up until my car has been running for approx 30 minutes and then they stop working. Doesn't seem to matter how many times I use them in that time just suddenly won't work. If I press the hazard light switch it just glows red when the indicators have stopped working. Been doing it since I had the dash out to fit new heater matrix last weekend but I'm pretty confident everything went back right. Oh and once the indicators stop working they will still flash when I arm the alarm. Have read other posts regarding bulbs, bad earths, flasher unit etc but not sure where to start looking; If it was the flasher then surely it would just stop working and stay broken. If it was a bad earth then why would they start working again straight from the off when I next drove the car Seems to be related to the engine getting up to temp but this may be coincidence. Any Ideas where to start looking?? Cheers John
  21. Posts like this make me jelous!! Lovely looking car with rediculous power. Would love to have seen the look on the porsche drivers face as you dissapeared down the road. Only wish I had the mechanical know how to do something like this but I can just about manage a basic service :)
  22. Stick the message under a new heading to gauge interest for that mate. You'll get more views and a better response. I know most people who have any are now holding on to them rather then selling for when theirs inevitably give up on them. I'm sure you'll get a fair bit of interest if the price is right
  23. You are an absolute gent mate. I have posted on here about them a few times and never had any joy and I know they are rare to say the least. I spotted someone else asked recently and got lucky with somebody having some spotting thier message so I guessed I'd just play the law of averages and keep asking. Hopefully its worked :)
