  1. Hi When setting off I sometimes get what I can only describe as a bit of a lift at the front end, almost like a bit of a thud but without any noise if that makes any sense? Kinda feels like the engine is lifting at the front end. How do I go about checking my engine mounts or is there anything else I should be looking at? Cheers John
  2. The guy driving blatantly looks like a crash test dummy!
  3. There you go. Not gone mad with em but gives you an idea.
  4. Result in the end then. Glad you got it sorted! Thinking about Adrian Flux my brother was insured with them a few years ago and cancelled his policy after selling his car. They apparently re-funded him but it never went into his account and he had a long drawn out battle with them to get the money back. Their stance was it has been refunded so thats that! I'd forgotten about that TBH. Like i said originally I've never had a problem and their prices are pretty good normally but then again I've never tried to do anything out of the ordinary with them.
  5. I get a bit of a pulse through the speakers when I start it up but it is only very brief and only once each time. I just live with it to be honest as I don't think it will do the speakers any harm as it is nothing they dont handle on a constant basis anyway. I'm presuming if the voltage wouldn't be too high to damage the amp in any way as if it was it'd simply blow one of the many fuses.

    Wrapping

I enquired about this with a 3m wrapping specialist and was told exactly what's written above. He basically advised me if I wanted to get decent results from a wrap I would need to have a full re-spray first as the wrap would emphasise any imperfections in the current paintwork. Its no cheaper than a re-spray either if you did just go for a wrap.
  7. Wowzers! Lovely set of seats. Would be funny to buy a set of seats that are more expensive than my cars current market value but I'm currently skint so that's out of the question :)
  8. I'm on now. Good idea. Haven't seen another Corrado in ages!!
  9. Scumbags at Adrian Flux. Sorry for saying I'd never had any problems with them. Sneaky bar stewards! Behaviour like that towards fellow enthusiasts may make me look round a little more thoroughly this year!
  10. I took all the original off when I fitted mine. Doesn't seal particularly well but I don't think its meant to keep the weather out is it? Nor did the original if you ask me. Get a torch in there and check all the grommets are in place going in behind the dash. It's amazing how much water can seep through if one of these is missing or broken!
  11. Surely scanning for your own use wouldn't be classed as this? I'm sure the wording is reproduction for distribution or sale.
  12. I love that quote Jim. A workshop manual that has been scanned to stop the original getting dirty. Now that's commitment to the cause :)
  13. The red one doesn't look very comfy to sit on!! Is the other an old school GT? I used to love GT bikes, had one myself till it got nicked !!
  14. Welcome to the forum Completely agree with OZ! If i'm not mistaken that is an Aqua Blue Pearl 16v. By far the best colour!
  15. Good luck picking her up mate. Enjoy the drive home! I'm sure you don't want to hear this but my clutch went on the way home when I collected mine just before I got home. Wasn't funny at the time but every time I look back at it now it tickles me immensely.
  16. Very wise! Get the necessities dealt with first. No good having a corrado with nice wheels that doesn't go anywhere!
  17. Ah 18's are too big!! Shame though. 17's max but some would argue 16's give a better ride. Others would stay stick some standard 15's back on. Yeah mine is 4 x 100
  18. You should have kept the wheels! Suit the corrado down to the ground!
  19. Not everybody agrees with Corrado's getting modded but it is your car mate and you can do what you want with it. Hard to tell but from the pics it looks like it has got a de-badged grille, tinted taillights and side repeaters along with aftermarket alloys anyway already so it is not in its completely standard form. I don't think coilovers are going to improve the handling massively, they will certainly change the handling making it much firmer so prepare to rattle your bones and avoid potholes at all costs but what they will do is get rid of the beach buggy appearance which in my view is the only major problem with the Corrado as it came out of the factory. Can't vouch for the headlight loom as I haven't done it personally but if you read the thread you will get a feel for the difference it makes. I don't see its necessary for the area I live in as most of my driving at night is on well lit roads but if I lived in an area with poorly lit, windy country roads and spent my nights driving on these I would probably want to see where I was going!

  21. Coilovers definately required! Lights are cr@p as are the wipers. Lights are sorted with an uprated wiring loom, available from somebody off here and wipers are usually replaced with Lupo ones but I have found that a few extra washers on the spindles pulling the standard wipers closer to the windows is a pretty good fix. If you need any info finding out about these mods use the search function at the top of the page mate .
  22. I was like that when I got mine. Forever looking in the rear view mirror when i hit 55 to watch it pop up and again when pulling up in traffic and at lights to watch it go down. Just be careful you dont run into the back of anyone :)
  23. Looks very clean! Welcome to the joys of Corrado ownership :)
  24. Blimey. Never expected the'd pay out quite that low. As i said have never had a car knicked or written off (touch wood) but that kinda makes a mockery of the whole estimated value part of your insurance. I never knew you'd only get back about a quarter of the estimated value! I wonder who comes up with the values for payouts then and where they pluck their figures from then?
