Prior to cleaning the car yesterday I noticed there is a scratch nearly all along the N/S of it, which has p*ssed me off. As i would like to get it back to it's original state, is there anyone in the Glos/Bristol area will a DA or similar who could try to rectify it for me perhaps this weekend (weather permittimg)? Money is tight this month as I have to tax both cars and MOT one, but I'm sure we could come to an arrangement if applicable? Cheers, Ian

PM me your details and I will get a couple in the post to you a.s.a.p. - Don't need paying for them as it will only be a small amount for postage. Ian.

What grade alum oxide did you buy, you would need quite coarse to blast steel - Something like 80 > 120 grit? Ian. -
According to VW Spares for 1989-1993 cars up to Chassis No. 50-P-009000 they are 15mm thick and later cars are 17mm thick. Ian.

I replaced mine with St/Steel ones, right thread + head etc but had to shorten them slightly - Got a couple spare if you want them? Ian.

It was a direct swap, carefully remove the old one and change over the 2 electrical connectors - The only slight diffeence is the Skoda one I bought did not have the interior light staying on for 10 secs after the doors were locked!! Ian.

I am led to believe there were 3 different one's fitted over the life of the Corrado, might be worth posting a pic of the one you're looking to replace? I bought one of these if it is any help: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SKODA-OCTAVIA-1999-INTERIOR-LIGHT-AND-SUNROOF-SWITCH-/180558219641?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a0a1bc979 Ian.

Electroplated Chrome onto plastic is a very specialised process, there are only a very small number of companies in the UK who can do it. Ian.

Just looked in my spares and I have the correct one Jon- It was sold to me as working but I've never tried it. I could arrange to courier it Monday to either your home or work, say £20.00 delivered? As it has not been tried by me, if on receipt you find it either doesn't work or solve your problem I am more than happy to have it back off you and refund the money- Sound fair? Let me know. Ian.

Welcome, nice to hear of another one in our area!! Ian.

Dug out the receipt, Part Nr 533971537 @ £9.76 each list price. Ian.

Is that strap actually needed? Mine fell apart! Not sure, I guess VW fitted it for a reason? The original had nearly broken at the bonnet hinge end, hence the reason I replaced it. Ian.
