Hi Tom, I hope it solves my problem too I'll find that out tomorrow. Are you selling the ABS brake pedal sensor? If so is it ok and for how much? Alan -
Here is my current favourite video. Listen to that amazing sound track. I've never heard my VR at full chat from outside the car! That will have to change after listening to this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYSk9tLIagE

Hi Tom, The coil pack turned up today thanks it was a pleasure doing business with you. Nice timing as my coil pack went breasts up on Saturday although its not been right for a while. Ill put it on tomorrow. Many thanks Alan -
OK thanks guys for your help and advise. I'll be doing this tomorrow in no rush atm. Jim, did changing the coil pack sort out your running issues? I think we had similar problems at the same time.

The VR is poorly at the moment sounding more like a tractor than a car. I bought a replacement coilpack from Purple Tom last week in preperation to change anyway as the engine as been running a little lumpy just recently. Anyway on Sat the engine was running even worse so is locked up in my garage for now. I want to do this job myself so be gentle with me. Is this just a simple straight swap like for like? Or is there anything else I need to be made aware of? I'm not technically adept at such jobs but want to start having a go myself. Thanks Alan

Yes they are the ones (top piccy). Still better than the original bulbs even if they aint the real thing.

Hi Tom, Hope you got my payment yesterday. I can't get to grips with the PMs Alan -
If you think the starter is at fault how about a push start and see if that gets the engine running?
-
Suppose that R36 engine made a massive effect LOL. Its really not fair calling your car "family freindly". It would embarass quite a few quick cars out there.

I'll answer my own question to this! Had the xenons in for a few days now and they are fantastic well worth the money can see were I'm going now. Anyone else considering this option I can highly recommend them. Cheers for all your thoughts Alan

Is the coil pack still availabe? If so can I offer you £35 posted? Cheers Alan -
I had a blast in a Seat Cupra. Same engine and gearbox. I was a passenger but I can tell you it put a huge grin on my face. I was amazed at the power delivery from low down the revs through to the top end. 120 in 6th with another gear to go. At 70 in 7th engine was running at 1500. The gearbox behaved well in auto and in flappy paddle mode. Really impressive and I must admit to thinking the VR is in need of some fekkling now to keep up

New bulbs are in only took 45 mins to change both bulbs thats not bad for me! Only downer is the side light bulbs have a different fitting. Just waiting for darkness to fall so I can give em a test.
-
The xenons turned up today they are H4 Philips blue vision ultra and I also get the sidelights thrown in for free not bad. Can't wait to get these in and try em out.

As Kev as mentioned above the brake position sensor is now obsolete. This will need looking into unless someone knows of a way of fixing the original broken part or using a part from another vehicle as a replacement. I had my ABS scanned on VAGCOM and that indicated a problem with the BPS its intermitent at the moment but what happens when it totally gives up the ghost? My car would be randered useless beacause of a 120 pound obsolete part. I can understand some parts being made obsolete but this is a critical part for MOT purposes and the proper function of the braking system.

Your car is a beautiful example my favourite on this forum :D I use your pictures on here as wallpaper on my works PC and change them often.

I've ordered Philips xenons at £32.99 hope they turn up before the weekend.
