the grill has been color coded the lights were red and amber and the amber bit was tinted red. i have a few sets of lights around so ill probably put on some original red and amber ones

brought home the rest of the bits from work yesterday very dusty bumper ive refurbished the rear bumper bar and brackets then i fitted my freshly repainted bumper i have some all red rear lights in the shed so i did a test fit, what do you guys think of them? im not sure about them

i painted them with 2k, then i put the stickers on and lacquered over the whole lot

started sanding and compounding today started with the orbital sander and 1500 grit. then we used 3m trizact 3000 with the orbital sander to finish it off. then theres a 5 stage compounding and polishing process. today we got the whole car sanded and the bonnet and roof compounded with 3m green fast cut should have it all done tomorrow theres not a bad shine considering its only the fast cut compound this ones for the people who dont think im 16

just did these today for my brother, they used to be red i was thinking of doing the same thing to my front and rear calipers, would show off my four pots on the rear and the front. opinions?

if you knew me you would know that an unexperienced apprentice would ever be let within 10 feet of my car let alone work on it so you can be fairly sure its me in the pic :smug:

i like bbs rs but they wont clear my brakes :( i need a 17" wheel with alot of clearance, something like compomotive mo's as for me being 16 i dont know how i could prove it to you you said take a pic with me working on it but i could just get some random 16 year old for the pic so ye are just going to have to take my word for it.

what do you guys think would be a nice wheel. i need at least 400mm across the inside to clear my brakes

well unless they come looking for me i doubt it will happen but if they want to feature it i would be more than happy its not coming home today, im leaving it with them and im going up on thursday to give them a hand sanding and buffing, they want to do it before the paint gets too hard.

i was at the body shop today and the car is finished so ill be picking it up tonight, while i was there i got some pics but the car is filthy so later on ill give it a wash and get some better ones. i would like to give frank burns auto body repair in oranmore co. galway a big thanks for the excellent job and first class service. i couldnt recommend him highly enough.

not sure about the other models but the 1.8 has kjet so you dont need to mess around changing fuel pumps. does the 2.0 have kjet? if it dosent then you would be better off with a 1.8. but if you can get the car cheap enough then any of them will do.

it isnt really a spacer. its there to hold in the outside piece. the outside bit just pushes into it

i need the piece that goes between the body and the screen, not the bit around the outside.

does anyone know where i can get the 2 piece rubber that goes around the rear screen? thanks mark

theres a stupid nissan micra in the way of mine :mad2: at the moment its being worked on now and again. as soon as the micra is gone their going to be working on it full time. it will be done in 2-3 weeks, maybe even less :)

i was in the bodyshop today and took some pictures, its coming along nicely. this is filler primer, after that it gets standard grey primer, base coat and then clear all the lines on the body have been kept as sharp as possible, this will really show the shape of the car(yet another advantage of going back to bare metal)

i used square cutting wire and my feet. the wire tends to get caught in the plastic trims on the side of the screen which makes it difficult to get the whole way around. the screen will not come out unbroken unless you are very patient and take your time but for the sake of £200 you might aswell get a new screen and trim. it takes about 10 or 15 minutes to do, then just clean off the left over sealant with a sharp chisel and your good to go. hope that helps.

i was at the painters yesterday and all the filler work is done on the shell and its in primer. forgot the camera :roll: have to drop over some more parts monday or tuesday so ill get some pics then.

turned the bracket on the waste gate actuator around to suite the new turbo position custom manifold, job done

they guy thats doing the paint work has been painting for 20 years and worked for bmw and porsche. ive seen a good bit of his work and im very impressed :)
