kevhaywire, yep, had same problem as you, however, updated my Quicktime to the latest free version, plays fine now.

I have a very good write up from VDO on this (their installation instructions in fact), I'll see if I am clever enough to attach it here, if not PM me your e-mail and I'll send it direct..... one good piece of advice is to give the voltmeter it's own dedicated earth, as this gives more accurate voltage readings.

Been annoying me for awhile now since fitted a set of VDO's in the cubbyhole. The oil temp sender is not the correct one for the gauge. The gauge reads oil temp from 60 to 170 degrees. The sender however is rated '120 deg (130 deg max)'. Initially I was happy just to get all the gauges working, but now want to get this sorted as don't like the gauge reading 130 degrees (even though I know it's only 100 degrees in reality). Anyone got a part number for an oil temp sender that reads from 60 degrees to 170 degrees please? It's the wider thread sender I need (i.e will fit the top of the oil filter mounting)

You should have no worries with Autoglass doing your screen, have always done right by me in the past. It's a right sod to do though, and as above the C has a reputation as being a pain in the arse to do. I would recommend pushing to get new seals fitted all round (including trim strip that is referred to as coming loose at speed). I had a garage reckon they didn't need Autoglass and had a go at replacing my screen themselves, totaly f#cked it up, including re-using original seal, result, at speed trim strip at top of screen comes out at speed. Autoglass replaced the lot, problem solved. Autoglass recommended, in Norwich anyway!

standard, standard, standard!....IMO

Scott, Gold Class bottle ran out last week, bought and just used the NXT ten minutes ago, and yep, I reckon it's better even than Gold Class (Gold Class was very good though!), bottle is a few quid more expensive, but contains more in it. As Ka`, says, goes on and off better. I find if you ligthly spray the just waxed and polished surface with a little water and wipe over with a slightly damp chamois it really 'sets' the shine nicely and brings the shine up even more. Meguiars top stuff in my book, for results for the price. 8)

Bloody hell, starting to get a bit worrying, the amount of bits no longer available seems to be growing and growing! Good 'ol GSF etc.!

Nice one MoonlightVR, , as it happens have finished off the Megiuars Gold Class wax today, time to go and buy some of the NXT tomorrow methinks!

Nice one! I have had trouble getting, ahem, touch ups too! It's a nice colour, but doesn;t seem many people opted for it. Perhaps VW's less than exotic title for the colour put them off. It looks more of a grey than green to me. Oh, any chance you could send me your drivers door? I'll happily send you my dented / scuffed one by return....! -

oh no it isn't     Oh yes it is! -
...don't see any Corrado's around for ages, and then see two Storms in one day! The sad thing was up close they were both in serious need of some TLC, very tatty paint, one with seriously rusting accident damage. Damn shame, there should be a law against it!  Only consolation was saw a third C before driving past on way home, and got a nice response to flashing the driver. 8)

Must be something awry I reckon, I find the 16v plenty fast enough, you just have to get used to feeling your'e caning her a bit to keep the revs up, and it should just fly along.... 8) :D Boot it and it should bring a smile to the face, if not, then it needs checking over.

I'd definately check this out first though before you start tearing the engine apart! If you look at the alternator, there is a belt that runs from the alternator down to the water pump pulley. The water pump pulley consists of the outer pulley (driven by the water pump), and the innermost (closest to engine) pulley, which just idles, i.e. it's not driven directly. This runs on a sintered thin liner. Once this starts to break up there is a load of play and metal to metal contact between the driven and non driven pulley, and it sounds clattery and horrible at certain revs at first, and then eventually at all revs. Quite common. Worth looking at the cheap fixes before the expensive ones I reckon! Think you can temporarily slacken the alternator drive belt off so the idling pulley is no longer made to turn when the engine is running, if noise no longer present, then that's probably the culprit, and if noise still present, you can tick that off the list of possible causes. Assuming your engine configuration is same as 1.8 16v KR engine of course?!
-
...no reason, just wondering. Doesn't seem very common at all. Luckily it's more of a grey than a green. VW must have spent ages working out the exciting name for this colour....'hmm, Guatemalan Green, ...Sunkissed Meadow green,....nah...Dark Green'. ....oh, those craaaazy VW people!

Sounds like the guy was just being a knob to me....take your business elsewhere to somewhere better equipped, don't think many places would be at all fussed about it being lowered. I don't speak from personal experience though, as mine is standard set up.

The great British public, you gotta love 'em! That is really arse. If anyone can get it out Dentmaster can, but that looks quite a sharp crease, on a strong part of the panel (i.e heavily curved = strong and possibly diificult to get back in to shape. I would definately get Dentmaster to have a look though, have worked wonders for me in the recent past, top guys! Hope you get it sorted. Did she take a note of the other 'persons' car, as it's bound to be around there again

'Fraid not, the places I had trouble with were at Yarmouth and Norwich. Might give East Bilney a look soon though if don't find the right VR and / or keep the valver (some seriously crumbly paintwork on the front bumper letting the car down at the moment! Your'e not Insurance Approved though are you....aaargh!
-
I had no end of problems using Norwich Union Direct (never again!), due to using their sh1te Approved garages. All 'Insurance Approved' means is the repairers cut their margins (and quality of work) to the bone to get the approval of the insurance company as a cheap repairer of cars. It's a cut-throat business. After the umpteenth failure of an NUD approved garage to do a decent job, took it to a place of my choosing, and they were sh1te too! Conclusion, you can't get the staff these days. IMO the end of properly trained apprenticed staff who took pride in their work and actually learnt real skills equals the situation where it's veeeeery difficult these days to find a decent bodyshop.

'Changes to the Corrado over the Years'....easy, they just get rarer and more desirable! :D
