Hmmm, I'm no expert, but is there a leaking fuel line dripping in to the air box area. There are a fair few fuel lines etc in that area. Is it really soaked in fuel? I understand that oil spotting of the air filter is pretty well normal for a valver.....maybe it's that?

I suppose it's kind of endearing in a Mk1 way, but what a heideous colour, looks like a cross between a slug and a snail!
-
Sounds interesting, what's the downside though? There must be one! Think my C runs rich anyway, as she seems to fly quite nicely :D In fact, the Sun is shining, England v France is on so that means empty roads, I make that 'Corrado Drive for the Sake of it' O'clock. :D
-
....however, just seen Jamie's article in there, and the girl on P.91. So might consider giving it one more chance :)
-
....and it could be my first and last time! Page 57, a Corrado ,with......'spinny' bloody hub-caps, and the caption...'Spinning hub caps-...we want' Don't think they were being ironic either. :2gunfire:

corradoSTORM man, Bloody nice wheels too!

flusted, So, where are Stealth, and how much for the tune-up for 155bhp? Is it a standard tune or do they do something else as well?

Hmmm, just to confirm the mixed opinions over Avon ZV1's mentioned by Phil K, I thought the Avons were dreadful in the wet AND the dry! Personally I love Continental Sportcontacts , but they are pricey! My front Avons finally wore out last week so got rid of them ( :) ), when I priced up for some Sportcontacts the guy mentioned Dunlop SP Sport 01's which were on offer, virtually same pattern as Sportcontacts, so took them. Good so far......about £50.

Bloody hell, sure you didn't take it to a small back street garage with a large VW sign outside! Sounds very pricey to me, guess most of the labour will be for the failed attempt to do the wishbone bushes, but why are they charging you for a failed job, and why are they so surprised that sump was in the way....doesn't sound good to me.

O.K., re. my previous post. Ignore the white pen pointing to the circlip (although if that's missing your'e gearstick will have more play than normal sidewards). Look about an inch forward of the end of the pen. Those two legs coated in black are a spring that helps your gearstick go back to a neutral position. If it's not the adjustment being out in the engine bay causing your problem (probably is), then this might also be worth a look.

Yep, think I called ithe Post 'Gearshift Weight Mod. (Details/Photos)' Makes the gearchange much nicer on the 'earlier' C's that don't have it fitted. P.S. There is also a spring in the gearshift mechanism under the gearstick gaitor. If it 'goes' gearchanging become veeeery hit and miss. I'll dig out a piccy of what I mean and post it here.

jimsG60, Couldn't bring myself to buy any Lupo just on the basis of whoever 'designed' the crappy fuel cap flap. Must have had ten minutes to spare and a budget of £10 to do it. Whatever happened to engineering? Would have been better off using a Post-It Note for a fuel cap!

Storm, Change it back, change it back! Nice though the new one is, your previous one was much better IMO. Unfortunately, mines a bit of a dog!
-
Well said , my current wish list includes Karmann Ghia, Splitty, Type 2, Mk1 GT1, Mk1 Convertible, oh, and a VR Corrado! Nothing new inspires me from VW at all. Too lardy and lacking in character.
-
.....but sounds about right. Heard over the grapevine today from someone who works at Snetterton that VW are none too pleased about out of production models (i.e. Corrado's) that keep trouncing their current models in the VW Cup. He reckon's VW are making things a bit awkward obtaining parts for the C's etc. Don't know if there's any truth in it, but sounds about par for the course.....
-
Storm, Don't change a thing about your Avatar perleeeese, unless you can get 'that' Kristal Steele one?!...
-
Remember they did a really good article about 5 years ago entitled 'Corrado, The Great Depreciation Buster - Is this Britains Best Used Car Buy?'

Might be worth a second opinon chap, must be another Dent Devils (highly recommended) type person in the area, perhaps? If they agree with your person, your'e reassured. If they don't think it necessary, they can prove it to you! Good luck with it, either way!
-
Reckon for the money your'e talking about, it's gotta be a valver or G60. Reckon any VR at that price will be trouble unless you get veeeery lucky. Personally, I would prefer a mint 16v, but i'm biased! (not that mines mint though  ) Anyway, hope you get something decent and put up more posts, my Avatar likes your Avatar!

Not majorly convinced myself! I presume you mean the bit on the right hand side of your Avatar? Can't he get access with the rear seat pan and rear cabin cards removed? I've had those bits out in the past (easy) and recall gives a fair bit of access to the skin to the rear of the doors / forward of the rear wheel arch. Doesn't seem to me to be a lot of benefit in 'paintless' dent removal if they end up drilling holes in your car! In fact, now I think about it, I HAVE had a dent removed in that area, about four years ago. Don't recall exactly what access the guy used, but if he'd have pulled a power drill from out the back of his van and approached my car, I would have hit him!

Trouble is, iEbay one is collect only! You can get plastic and GRP copies quite a bit cheaper but look the same effect as the Kamei ones. Give GPC / Volksbits? etc a call and they should see you right....can't remember where mine came from tho, think it was a trader at North Weald a few years ago.

....as I got there too late for first race (mega-hangover), and had to leave before the second one  Understand Lark won both races though! 8) Saw nice Burgundy VR and immaculate red 16v with Estorils parked up...anyone here?!
-
Looking good! 8)
-
Yeah, as VR6storm says, if your replacing the old 'VW' and 'Corrado' badges with new ones, there is no problem.
