Bet he was an Estate Agent! :)

Yep, as said above, most likely to be a result of scoring if window was replaced, rather than anything on the inside of the panel. What you have done so far sounds like a good interim treatment, but I would keep an eye on it for going in other areas of the window lower edge.

Deffo insert some tweeters in the A pillar trims, but I put them right near the grab handle location. Right by the ears, perfect for directional tweeter type sound I reckon, lovely.

Oh this is so easy.... 1) Cars with tasteful scaffolding spoilers strapped across the back 2) People who stop, look, see there is a car coming, and only then pull out in front of you. 3) People who stop at roundabouts when there is nothing there, look, and only then go. 4) People who go right in the left hand lane of roundabouts. 5) Traffic lights on roundabouts. Especially when the roads are empty. 6) People who don't indicate. 6a) People who don't indicate, then suddenly decide they will for a few turns only. 7) Foglights on all the time 8) Foglights on all the time, but it's OK, 'coz my sidelights are on'! 9) Foglights on, but it's OK 'coz one of my sidelights is working, innit'! 10) Wan#y bue LED washer jets, 'coz I iz an indeervidueel, innit!' 11) People who drive up your arse in a 30 limit, especially when you know there is a speed camera ahead. 12) People who when you wave/gesture etc that their tyre is flat, their exhaust is falling etc off look at you with utter disgust for having disturbed their little bubble of the world, and drive off. 13) No brakelights at all working.

Seem to recall doing a post about this a while ago with piccies of a three cycle carrier from Halfords fitted on the back of my C. Fully adjustable to clear the spoiler. I'll see if i can dig out a piccy and post it here now....should be able to identify the Halfords model from the piccy. About £50 as I recall. ...nope, must have ditched it off my PC, should be on here somewhere though if you try a search....

Looks very nice.

Dont think it could be this, cause you'd have it a lot more when driving round, but it's worth a quick check. Take a look at underneath the rear speakers, to see if the rear damper rods haven't pushed through the spring plate (corroded to buggery), through the rubber cap, and are tapping their way through the underside metal of the speakers  Happened to me and it took a while of being driven mad by the tapping noise it made 'til I reaslied what it was.

Ah no worries then :D Just pop the frozen rice in the microwave for a few mins and it'll be drivable again :D don't forget the teaspoon of water over the bag first! 'Tis a good point though, have occasionally thought a severly iced over spoiler could be a strain on the motor, but surely VW would have thought of that at the design stage!?

It's got a red cam cover, so must be waaaaay powerful!

Yep, screwdriver / ice-pick hammered through the filter is the norm for me too. Put it through the lower half of the filter though, or you might be hitting other gubbins in the way. Always get a genuine VW filter in future mate, too, they have a non-return vlave built in which holds some of the oil in the upper half of the engine ready for the next time you start her up. Cheaper non-genuine filters don't. If iIm buying a VW I always look to see if it's a genuine filter or not, a good indication of the standards of the owener in my opinion.

Ford, Sorry to hear about that, mate. As I live in Norwich these days will surely keep an eye out. Don't know if you bid on this VR sight unseen, but as it happens I took a look at this car about ten hours before the end of the auction with the guys g.friend, and was not at all impressed, paint and leather was ropey IMO, and when I lifted the boot carpet looked like it had been rear ended and had had some ropey welding to splice in a new section. Deffo was not a looked after example. My g.friend couldn't beleive how quickly I made my excuses and left. Maybe was best you didn't end up paying the full whack for her after all. No consolation I know. Occurs to me that I may have looked at the same spec car at another location in Norwich about a month before this one, and may have been the same girl was hanging about. I'll take a drive past some time this week and see if the plate is the same (could be mistaken so don't get your hopes up). Not too many C's around this way, so wel'l keep 'em peeled!

ovalthemoon, NOOOOH, tell me it's just a Daily Mail type bollox scare story, or is it gospel going to happen?!

P.S. I can heartily recommend getting an early tax exempt one. Such a nice feeling going to Post Office today and getting a years tax for nothing 8) . Makes a change from the usual daylight robbery of the motorist.

...by the way, for spares 'Just Kampers' are renowned. Their website is http://www.justkampers.com. Phone them on 0845 1266266 and they will send a free catalogue. For insurance i can't recommend Norton Insurance highly enough ( 0121 246 5050 ) they have been excellent so far. Most mainstream insurance companies won't touch old campers, or take the p#ss with some outrageous figure but Norton recognise them and gave me a great quote. For breakdown cover I would get individual cover with the AA. Phoned them today to check and they will still cover recovery of a 34 year old camper, as 'the individual is covered not the vehicle', so any vehicle I drive including the Corrado and the camper are covered all for one cost!

blimey, strange world. Coincidentally just picked up my 'new' 34 year old camper today! Am new to the air cooled game myself but would be happy to pass on any tips as I discover them.... Found mine in Autotrader locally beleive it or not, hidden in the Commercial / Van section. Ebay seems to turn quite a few up, but I would advise NEVER buy a Camper sight unseen off Ebay, no matter how tempting the photos seem. If you can get to see one before you bid then fair enough, but sight unseen is madness as campers love to rot!
