Apart from a couple of chancers a few years ago at Volksfest who did a sh#te job of taking dents out of mine, the proper companies like Dent Devils etc are bloody fantastic! Well worth every penny! Bloody SUV's, especially with towbars, both my car and my g,friends number plates have ended up with big round crushes on them from tossers in SUV's backing in to them. Are they totally oblivious or something, or just don't care about other peoples property?

Supercharged, Looks good, same a smine, and favourite front end mod of mine, but would definately colour code it. Did you use those tungsten tipped screws from B and Q you bought ages ago?!

"']['H3R4POR"] Go on, start a new Topic, you know you want to.... a selection of these should do the trick...... 'Just how much faster will my Saxo go with blue LED's on my washers? 'Burberry...cap or crap? 'Do spinning hubcaps improve acceleration away from the lights?' 'Do wheel spins that nearly make you stall guarantee you a shag?'

Yep, and I didn't even ask for the seals, only where I could get them in UK. Mind you, I did kind of hint by putting my full address at the bottom of my question!

...bought a second hand Perma Cool sandwich oil-cooler, hose and rad. set up from a guy at North Weald Volksfest, but missing the 'O' ring for the sandwich plate. No problem I thought, he only wants £25 the lot, and can get a seal locally easily. However, after trawling round motor factors coudn't find anything close enough to fit, and was just beginning to think I'd been sold a pup. However, quick search on Net and e-mail to Perma Cool, result, theyr'e posting me a couple of seals free of charge from USA! I'm impressed. Thought i'd give them a quick 'plug' on here as a result. 8)

Yeah, why not get it put back to a 'normal' plate for the year of the car, which the DVLA will issue at random on request, and palm the private plate off to a plate re-seller. I would e-mail a relevanty company asking them to quote a price to buy the plate off you. I think the people I used were http://www.regtransfers.co.uk , or something similiar, they were very good. Mind you, I was buying, not selling, but they will quote to buy from you as well.

Have you taken a trip to one of the larger branches / superstores of Halfords....big rack of aerosol cans with coloured caps...just a thought.

Perfect solution, remove the rear wiper arm / motor! I HATE it when you come back to your car and someone has left a bit of paper under the wiper, feel violated somehow to think a stranger has touched your car while you weren't there  .........unless it's aVW related flyer of course.

Can't comment on the VR, but that's how I did it on my 16v, quite easy really.

Mine is quite rare colour apparently (only one at Woburn meet, officially called 'Dark Green', code LD6U, but everyone always refers to it as Grey, including on the V5. An officially offered colour on the early C's, and pearlescent. Will post a piccy later when I find one

bit like leaving the plastic seat protectors on new cars for ages, 'just to keep it nice' IMO

Me too, wipers still fine after over a year! Recommended mod, no more shaking2: smearing! .......waits quietly in corner for first person to ask....'so, what are the part no.'s needed to do this then?

Also, I found that if you park with the nose of the car facing downhill, so that the fwd. lower corner of the doors was the lowest corner of the door, water would track across the seal at that corner and pool in the footwells in heavy rain. I just put a small cut across the seal at that point and all is well again.

I'm sticking with my answer!

'Coz itz a bling bling kikkin in da house fing innit, yah get mi mon, yeah' In other words, utter sh#te. I see it as the modern equivalent to the red flag in front of cars.

Damn, I've been rumbled!

''kevhaywire, obviously aeroplane tyres would see a pressure drop during every landing. '' Nah, tyre pressures increase during landing due to excess heat from the brake units etc. Nitrogen used in aircraft purely for safety reason of not supporting combustion. Tyre pressures checked routinely when wheel / tyre is cold.

It's when you lift the boot carpet and find 'break, spares only' written in yellow youv'e got to worry!

H100VW, Damn, beat me to it! Was going to say that., however, my understanding is that it all came about due to an over-heated brake unit on a large aircraft (partially binding) during take-off, resulting in red-hot brake unit. Aircraft took off, undercarriage retracted in to enclosed wheel bay, hot brake ignited tyre, air in tyre fed fire etc. result...disaster. Since then pretty much universal mandatory standard is to use inert gas i.e. nitrogen to inflate aircraft tyres. Not a performance issue in aviation, only safety. Takes anorak off!

Good news, good decision I would say!

Blimey. that advice came in the nick of time, was just about to try this method out of sheer desperation.....!

Not as bad as when you polish the car, overnight it rains, lots of beaded water on roof. Next morning sun comes out....lovely I'll open the sunroof. First set of traffic lights, brakes on, loads of water down the back of the neck....lovely
