fast and furious???slow and furry dice!!!
Josh Waddi replied to sean1380's topic in General Car Chat
I think Fast and Furious was a OK film, then the 2nd one was a bit better but i found it more funny than entertaining then Tokyo Drift was dog poo  but from what i have heard this last one is back on track. its very very similar when it comes to the game which started these films off, Need for Speed. the 1st few were good games and very entertaining then they got worse and worse. now the latest one has gone back to the way it was originally and redeemded itsself. Just another opinion. :) -
what kind of history are you looking for?

Cheers you two. i can go hunting with knowledge now

Paragraph re-phrased

Hi People. Has the exhaust fitted last thursday, £325 from the bottom of the downpipe. seemed pretty reasonable. thought it may have been too loud at first but it has definatly settled down and i think it sounds amazing now. No issues with the fitting and the only tip which looked decent was the same as Eskimo's. Thumps up to MIJ Performance :salute:

Even better, they sound like a good friendly company, just got 2 days to go, will try and put pics up when its done

Hi People didnt get a reply originally so i will try and re-word what im looking for i understand the size fitment with regards to the actual " size of the alloy. But the offset?? and diameter or the bolt circle???? and the centrebore???? all throw me off and due to previous bad buys i dont trust sellers when they say they will fit. i needed to know what size or range of sizes which will fit a early 4 stud C? with standard brakes. Cheers

Thanks my eskimo friend. Looks very nice. they quoted me 3 hours for a full system, if they took 3 hours to fit a backbox im thinking mine will take much longer. Ah well, no horror story to be heard of. will let you know what i think
-
Hi Riley Just to let you know your not on your own. mine does the exact same plus more. ive been advised my power sttering pump is on its way out with the pulleys too. and it was the same with a friends C, he got a new pump and pulley and it has gone away. Could be the same with yours.

Cheers Colin Making more sense to me now. Im just going to get the full system as i will only regret it if dont. will post a reply on here when its fitted, let everyone know what i think. Cheers people.

Cheers Matt Spoke to them and asked for a price on a full system from downpipe. they advised it will be approx £400 Is this reasonabe or not, its jumped up £160!!! If not does anyone know of any cheaper garages in the nortwest or surrounding areas?

Hi Guys Getting a bit confused now. does a 1.8 16V actually have a CAT? i presumed it did but after reading these posts im not too sure now. Obviously if its not then i can get it from the downpipe as advised, but i will need to let the garage know a.s.a.p Cheers people.

There powerflow from what i can reall. they advised i would get a lifetime garuntee as long as im still the registered owner. Basicaaly what you have said. ive booked it in now whilst ive got the cash. no one has advised of any horror stories so far.

Hi People. Just wondering if anyone has used or heard anything about the sujected company? They have quoted me £264.99 for a CAT Back SS exhaust. This incudes £25 fuel discount due to distance i will be travelling. Also includes fitting and VAT. (this is for a 1.8 16V) Seems like a very reasonable offer to me, unless anyone can advise otherwise??

Unfortunatly i work in motor insurance and come across this quite often, yes GAP insurance is a con and even the GAP insurers don't pay the full retail price they swindle the way out of it which means if you have a vehicle on finance you will lose out. As for getting the right price for your car you must prove to them (insurer) what the vehicle is worth and the at fault insurer must put you back in the same financial position. If is car is being sold a lot less than what is worth they can use this as evidence against you. your best bet is to look at the lower values of a similar spec and if what there offering isnt enough for that vehicle then show them your evidence. You need to put up a fight.

Cheers Guys

sorry to hijack the thread but on a similar note, my back lights have been sprayed with a tint, the previous owner did this just before i got it. he said he used normal tint spray from a motor shop. would "thinners" work to remove this? the lights just look dirty at the moment.

Managed to take them back, wot is it with scrap merchants? it took me 2 hrs of negotiating, 1 complaint and 1 threat of the citizens advise bearau before i got my money back on these things.

Cheers David Seems difficult for a newbie. Got a friend who loves VW's so ill proably by the stuff and then throw him some cash to do it. Another question for you what brakes can i upgrade to, or take off another vehcile? seen lots of threads regarding 288mm brakes and stuff like that.
