Rebirth has begun :D Just stripped all of the trim off the old girl for when she goes in for her respray tomorrow. Slightly apprehensive about it all as it's not a windows out job so bit scared about how the paint will be around the rear windows.... Doesnt help that the paintwork is generally pretty darn good as is as well! Just need to get a few parts from my m8 at VW now ie new badges, roof strips and sunroof seal. No Corrado for a week and a half :( Should help kick start my cycling again at least though  Matt :salute: -
can you still buy them from VW? As far as I am aware m8 yeah :)
-
Dinkus you are a wonder thankyou. At least I didnt snap the Storm badge :gag: Cheers all Matt

Shit just broken it  LOL Do you get grommets with a new badge or shall I need both. Thanks for your help Matt
-
Thanks Whats a grommet? LOL :D

Before I make a mess..... Does the rear corrado badge just pull out? Or do I need to loosen something from the inside of the boot? Thanks Matt
-
Thanks mate much appreciated! I will add it to the list :D

Does the nipple pop off then? (love typing the word nipple lol) Being a man of wisdom have you any ideas on how to tidy up the cracking/splitting rubber around the antenna base without having to buy a complete new unit and mess around removing my headlining? Many Thanks Matt :salute:

Been searching past posts and Im sure the info is there somewhere but just cant find it! :( So is there a std looking aerial available from VW that is around half the size of the Corrado original? Thanks Matt
-
Did you manage to give this a good thrashing yet mate! :D Really want to sort my gearbox out next month and I torn between this and a Peloquin for the same money. Thanks Matt

Have to say I was shocked how much better the RX8 drove than my VR. The steering feel was absolutley sublime and the ride was incredibly forgiving for such a sporty car. You know what I would have bought one as well, well I would have if the engine note hadnt sounded like a milk cart! :dorky: You need the whole package and the C has it pretty much. Its the noise, power delivery, shape and the size (compared to modern cars) of the VR that keeps me hooked.

Has anybody put a W8 in a Corrado yet? :norty:

That is great so it does just pull apart. (with a bit of force :D ) Thanks Matt

Ok 'braved' the rain to go and check my handle out. All seems ok with the wiring looks in very good condition. Where should I be looking next? Any ideas? Thanks again Matt

I guess how long until your due an oil change? 6L of Synta Silver will only be £25
-
Yes I believe that is correct and no you cant mix them :)
-
P.S if it is the microswitch where is it located and can you get them from the local stealer fro less than a million pounds?
-
If you mean the door pin/knob on the inside I can open the door from the inside with it but it is VERY stiff and will always (90% time) want to go back down again. ie the actuator is pulling it back down. Cheers for reply. Trying to do more research now as its peein it down outside :(
-
I just use the synta silver now and replace regularly. I figured the money saved over a couple of years would buy me an oil cooler.... As far as I am aware you can mix lighter and heavier oils together. Just not types ie fully synthetic, semi and normal Do you really need to run 10w 60 though I would have thought 10w 50 would be thick enough. Matt

Red stuff pads and goodridge hoses transformed my std brakes. Matt P.S your car spec looks awesome :D

First off apologies for all the sucking and the blowing references I realise that this isnt that kind of forum :D I have taken the door cards off today to see if I can get to the bottom of my central locking not working properly. Basically the car does not open anymore from the key fob. Using the key on the passenger side will open all doors, boot and petrol cap. However using key on drivers side will only open drivers side door for small amount of time before the pump sucks the lock back down. So looking at drivers side door first. Had the vaccuum hose off the pump and sure enough you can feel it sucking when locking but it does not blow on opening the car with fob. So my question is... Could this be an electrical problem ie something not telling the pump to blow air on opening. Or is it likely to be mechanical such as one of the hoses has partly come off one of the other actuators? A gentle push or rough shove in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks Mat

Trying to give mine a clean but I cant see any tabs on it or anyhting to push in to open it? Is it simply a case of brute force, pulling it apart  Any advice would be cool (as always) Cheers Matt

Hi m8. Yes looks like everything you should need in that kit to get you started. Edition 38 forum has a detailing section and has loads of past cleaning threads on it. But as long as your cars paint is not too bad ie just dull not covered in deep scratches or swirls then you should ge away with the following: Wash (using two bucket method)http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7598756069207401372&q=showcargarage.com Clay Wash Dry Polish Wax If the paintwork is bad then you will need to use a harsher cutting compound than simply normal polish. Poorboys do a good range of this. Hope that helps a little, or gives you the confidence to get out there and get cleaning :D Matt
