5 Corrados (2 VR's, 2 16v's G60), 2 Honda Civic VTI's.
-
Cupra looks better than the R32 imo and is much more tuneable. Cheaper too!
-
For motorway runs you should be seeing at least mid-thirties consumption in a valver.
-
NG, well, not every car is the same, and it would seem that the 1.8 is a little more thirsty than the 2.0, but not by much. Also, it obviously depends how you drive it- keeping it in low revs = better consumption. 31 mpg does seem very low for a valver on a 50 mile+ journey. I get better than that in my VR! Sounds like something could be wrong. Any suggestions?

Anyone interested in group-buy 1/43-scale Corrado models?
CazzaVR replied to Tempest's topic in General Car Chat
Yep, did indeed for £20 a pop from Schabak. Everyone just seemed to think it was too expensive and no one signed up :? -
Under the rear armrest? Had one there in my G60- fitted in fine.
-
Mine too, actually. My whole interior could do with a really good clean- outside looks good though- just given it a wash and fitted some new Richbrook VW dust caps 8) Will probably only last 5 minutes though with all the chavs around here!

The BMC CDA is a nice bit of kit- bit on the expensive side though. Apiro do one that's pretty much identical at half the cost... Kev and Dan, what's the sound like with the BMC? Louder than stock?
-
Blimey, Kev what have you been carrying around in your boot then? It's a disgrace!

Get yourself some aluminium tubing, remove the carbon canister and re-locate your cone behind the front bumper. This will give you excellent COLD air flow. Just bought a kit from Intake_power on US Ebay for £50 (including the K & N cone!). Arrived after about a week. The tube is a few cm's too short, but the seller is sending out a longer coupler, so should have it up and running in the next few days- IMHO this is by far the best route to take if you want an induction kit. Just got the cone on at the moment, and there is a slight power loss when the engine is warmed up. Sounds great though

Had some fun with a Pulsar GTi-R the other day- was a bit worried as he pulled a couple of car lengths up to a tonne, then I reeled him in so quickly I was actually a bit surprised!
-
Hmmm, that's not great consumption. On a long run in both my valvers used to get at least 36mpg and sometimes 40+! Around town, on way to work etc used to get at least 27.
-
Kev, that indeed is very sweeet! Wish I was rich!
-
2 litre bottom end, 50mm golf inlet manifold, Weber Firebreather throttle body... if you can find one!
-
Know what you mean with the money  I'd set aside a bit for a new exhaust and suspension, but it's pretty much all gone on other 'more important' stuff, so they'll probably never get done now  as all my savings are going towards a new car next autumn. Do they have a nice shiny, glossy finish? If so they've been laquered. Worth doing IMO.
-
Look really good mate! Have they been laquered? Now you need some smoked side repeaters to go with them! ps- think these look better than all reds would on a green car
-
Don't think you have to jack the engine up for the front mount. You'll need a good extension for the torque wrench! Whereabouts are you in the SE? Canterbury Car Colour and Jacksons (also in Canterbury) are good bodyshops.
-
Thanks Supercharged- I'll try that. Yep, got a firewall running- never had a prob with GSF before though. Odd!
-
Hmmm, will have to try from work tomorrow- still can't get it at home. Cheers guys.
-
carpoid, that's the address I've been using, and it still won't work :? Anyone else having this prob, or is it just me?!
-
Haven't been able to get the GSF website for a few days now- anyone know what's happened to it? Cheers.
-
Nikki, must have been you- asked him today and he said a woman was driving- what are the odds of that?!
-
Nice one, Dave!

One of the kids in my class has family in Bromley and visits regularly- said he saw a C the same as my old one last time he went! :D Could have been you, Nikki! 8)
