Anyone got these yet? Quite tempted- used to have some on the VTI, and it's amazing what a difference it makes- the car stayed soooo much cleaner! These Corrado ones look a bit big though...
-
Might be worth checking the ISV pipes too. One of mine was split in a couple of places and the car idled terribly. Only took 5 mins to replace it and I cleaned the ISV with carb cleaner at the same time (left it to soak overnight). Now it idles perfectly :) .

Kev, Think it's a standard change 'cos they don't make G11 anymore. However, you have to flush your system thoroughly before changing because they gel up if mixed. I've swapped to G12, and it seems to work pretty much the same as the G11 used to.

Let us know how you get on!

Martin, good to see you've made it onto the group! :D My roof has the same problem- probably the guides as Roddy said. Mine will tilt, but not slide and my G60 used to be the same. This is a very common prob, and is quite expensive to fix, although I think you can use Passat bits- anyone done this? Cheers

we know what you drive and what you do!but how old are you??

29 at the mo'.....30 in April :? Still, you're as young as you feel, eh Roddy? -
Had the car sorted on Monday by a garage who know what they're doing! Running really well now 8)

Nice one! :D I'm gonna hand in my resignation at school and become a courtesy driver for VW

I'm a Primary Scool Teacher in Canterbury, currently teaching year 4 (8-9 yr olds) + year 6 Science. Love working with the kids, and the summer holidays  , but the paperwork is an absolute bugger. Worth it though, 'cos every day is different.

My Stealer in Canterbury gives me 15% discount on production of my CCGB card- I've already saved well over the cost of a year's membership :D
-
That sounds too sensible..... :) I'm hoping to buy a house this summer- prices in Canterbury are crazy though- 100K for a grotty 1 bedroom flat!
-
What did we all tell you?! Seriously though mate, I know exactly how you feel! Give the Saxo a bit more time- don't make a rushed decision.....crap, go and get another C today!!! :D There's a few good 'uns out there, and the prices are dropping. Mine was only £2.5K, and is in superb condition with FSH- only thing is the high miles, but it drives really well. You know you want to!

It's being sorted on Monday, and they're changing the oil cooler and flushing the system at the same time (got a small amount of oil in the coolant). Hopefully everything will be OK after that :) .....until the next time!
-
Yeh, it's not bad but add onto that the cost of the extra exhaust cam + vernier pulley and you'd be well over £200.

I'm booking it in today at a 'competent' VW specialist- they should be able to sort it. Kev, changed the G60 'cos it was costing me an arm and a leg- it was one thing after another! Miss the power, but will hopefully be getting a VR in the next year or so :D Replaced the G60 with a very tidy Civic VTI, but missed having a C so much, I just had to get another and the 16v seemed the best option at the time. Only cost £2.5K too and I made a good profit on the VTI- all in all a good bit of business! 8)

....and another

Just been reading the thread about the latest PVW (which I haven't read yet), and thought these beauties were worth sharing

Got the car serviced and MOT'd today- thankfully it passed with flying colours. However, on driving home there was a really loud vibration coming from the exhaust. When it was first fitted it had this (only not nearly as bad), but I got it sorted by a local VW specialist, only for this to happen today! It's so loud, my mate said it sounded like a tractor when I drove past him  Gonna complain tomorrow.......

Just got an email from Vince at Stealth: you can send the cam for the pulley to be modified for £75 + VAT. 5-10 BHP. Hmmm... was expecting a few more horses :? Don't think I'll be doing this, unless there are any other options?
-
Agree with VR6, certainly wouldn't go above 7.5k!
-
Will do, mate- just emailed them. Hope it's not too expensive 'cos it sounds excellent!
-
Cheers Kev, sounds the way to go. I'll give them a call and see whether I can afford it next payday! Cheers
-
How much £ would I be looking at? Would I need 1 or 2? Is it just plug and play, or do I need anything else? Cheers
-
Cheers Scott. Probably best to leave it if that's all it does- I like the mid-range power in the 2.0! Has anyone out there done this?
