  1. Hi all, the little rubber plug/cover has split and come off the exhaust recirculation pipe (which is at the back of the engine). My stealer hasn't got one and it will take a few days to get one, so is it still ok to drive the car? Will I cause any damage? Cheers Andy

    I agree! Think it would sell much better second time around. Apparently, VW had replacement engines for both the 16v and the VR6 all lined up in the last couple of years of production, but eventually felt they would be flogging a dead horse, so decided to finish in '95 :(

    Expensive to produce = high sale price = not many buyers = no more Corrado. Just think it didn't really catch on as they hoped it would. It was also quite expensive compared to it's rivals.

  6. My old 1991 G60 and my current '92 16v go up at 45mph. Think it's just VR's that are 60mph, unless the later 16v & 8v's were the same. Anyone?

  9. Maybe wrong (correct me if I am :wink: ), but I think Jamex are the same as G-max. G-max are pretty OK from what I've heard.

  13. Just bought myself a set of 17's, and they are rubbing slightly on full lock. The ET is 37, so could this be sorted if I fit some 2-3mm spacers? The car is lowered 35-40mm on a Spax kit. Cheers.

  15. Sorry jim! :roll: :D I agree with the others- if you don't entirely trust/know much about a dealer, it's worth spending a bit more for peace of mind. I'd have a bit more of a look around first, and if nothing worthwhile turns up, go with Pilot. G60- Clifford Concept 300 is a great alarm! I've had two now, and they're excellent. You can add stuff to them too at a later date if you want :D .
  16. Jim, I'd shop around a bit more- got one done on the G60 for £300 all in- they did a top job + certificate. Didn't effect my insurance 'cos I was only replacing the old cat-1 alarm. Would think it will lower your premium as you don't have a cat-1 already :D .
  17. Hello! Looks like you've worked really hard on your C! Well worth it- looks great 8) The bumper looks different to the UK 16v, which has a 'lip' for the exhaust. Were all continental 16v's like this?
  18. Welcome to the forum! :) Check out the VR6 vs G60 thread in this section. Think you'd be quite lucky to find a good VR6 + leather for 5k :? Then again, prices are coming down.

  22. Anyone done this? Seems like it's worth doing and it's quite inexpensive, but what are the legalities of it all?
  23. Timed my old G60 at 7.0 secs to 60 (after several goes). Wouldn't have been especially accurate as it was with a stopwatch- but still well below the 9sec barrier. My G60 had a chip and pulley. Another thing about PVW- where's the silver Corrado promised last month? Get's so dull reading about 10 different Golfs every month.... :(
