Well, looks like things are sorted for the Storm, and I should be picking it up friday night :D 8) Please keep ya fingers crossed for me! :?
-
Jim, He took it to a VW specialist to be inspected for me. I phoned them later and they told me he'd driven off before the inspection and had changed his mind! He called later and was extremely apologetic, saying he couldn't face to sell it. Looked at a low miler in London too- bit tatty though :( Would've taken a few quid to sort everything out. Getting very fed up with being messed around :(
-
:D Roddy, I'd like to mate, but there are a few annoying complications from the seller's end! Not looking good at the mo' :(
-
Jim, Already checked, and all the badges are in the correct places....
-
Cheers guys- will call VW tomorrow. I'm sure someone has made a list of Storm chassis numbers and posted them somewhere- just can't remember where! :?
-
Jim, Classic green, beige leather, solitudes, badges.... Did an HPI, but it just came up with VR6, although it said ins. gp. 19, which is right for a Storm :? Dunno- sounds like it's genuine, but the only way to be sure is the chassis no.

Can anyone tell me if the following car is a genuine Storm? VIN:WVWZZZ50ZSK003553 Reg:N929APU Any info would be great- cheers! Andy

There's your answer- VR6 it is then! :D

Jim, I was gonna get a GTI to replace my Civic, but ended up getting the 16v- just couldn't resist :) I agree with Joe M- surely by the time you've paid insurance for both cars, running costs etc they will add up to more than a C? Why not go for a 1.816v- insurance is gp 15 which is pretty similar to a GTI, and you can pick them up for around £2k now.

If it leaks again, take off the door card and check the membrane. Carefully poor some water down the window from the outside (with door open) along the whole width of the door. You'll be able to spot a leak straight away.

Always wanted one of those GTS ones (like on the red 'Rieger' C) that Venom sell. Wouldn't last 5 minutes though, with my lowered suspension and Canterbury speed bumps :(
-
Bought a late grill from Migs (LowG). Good communication, excellent packaging and condition. Thanks mate :D (I know it was ages ago, but better late than never eh?). Bought some 17's off RobyD- did me a good price- cheers! Nice, quick pm's, and even travelled part of the way to drop them off. Nice one! Sold a Eurosport intercooler tube to Nige (G60Jet)- quick payment and good pm's. Would buy/sell from/to all of these guys again. Cheers.

They look good, mate. I'll buy a couple. :)

Roddy, yeh, the blue one sounds absolutely superb and is a sensible price- unfortunately it's about 1k over my budget :( Ant, I agree an inspection will be worth doing if I decide to go for it. Jim- well, waddaya know?! Sent you a PM mate.

Hi guys, saw this advertised. Phoned them and it has done 134K, but the service book hasn't been stamped since about 110K :? The guy said it has brilliant service records (a folder full) including all the bill since the last time the book was stamped. What do y'all reckon? Too much of a risk? Is there anyone who lives near EMC in Derby who could have a quick look for me? Cheers K Reg Volkswagen Corrado 2.9 VR6 Coupe. active rear spoiler, Alarm, Alloy Wheels, Electric Adjustable Mirror, superb service history, high miles , hence price, Electric Sunroof, Electric Windows, HPi clear, Immobilizer, lots of bills, Manual Transmission, superb condition for the year. Anybody on here from Durham who could do me a favour? I've got a chance to buy a VR6, but as it's the other end of the country need someone to check it out for me :? Can anybody help? Cheers Andy

I'd agree. Go for a 1.8 16v- cheapest to insure (group 15). Think the 8v is 17  :? , along with 2.0 16v and G60. You'd be lucky to get insured for a VR6, and if you did, I suspect you'd be quoted 2.5k +. Go for the 1.8 16v :)
-
Hopefully getting 17's on this week- what pressure do they need?
-
Should just pull out once the screws are removed. Try levering one side out first with a flat head screwdriver.

Calibra 4x4 Turbo Integra Type R (as Majik says, superb handling) Nissan 200SX Fiat Coupe Turbo

Alex, am sure you can chip a 2.0 16v. Superchips and powerchips do a plug and play chip, whilst I'm pretty sure places like AmD and Stealth do custom remaps. Anybody had it done? Is it worth the dosh?
-
I like 'em too, Jim :) Think C's definately need to be lowered though. Think 16" Speedlines would look the biz! 8)

Glad it's sorted mate. If I was you I'd disable the automatic locking- had that on my VTI and it drove me bonkers  Instead of pressing all the buttons in the car for valet mode, just press the two left hand buttons on the fob together- much less hassle :D
