Mine is black too, and the smoked lights really suit it :D It's very easy to do too.

    16v Cam Swap?

Thinking of swapping the cams in my 2.0 for some from a 1.8. I've heard it makes quite a difference to the power  Has anyone done this? If so is it worth it? Also, is it a straight swap or is there any other modification needed (ECU etc)? Cheers
  3. Thanks guys- very helpful! Dan, could you do them in silver and black, like the newer VW centre caps? Are they quite durable? The caps are 56mm diameter. Could you PM me your address? Cheers mate.

    side repeaters

Just sprayed mine and they look quite good, Halfords usually have to order the smoked ones. I'll try and get some pics up of mine soon. Got some for my G60 from Eurocarparts last year- cost about £20 for the pair. Are you going to go for smoked tails too? Think they go really well together :)
  5. Anybody know where I can get some small round VW stickers to go on the centre caps of my alloys? Cheers
  6. Saw a silver R32 parked up when I was in Holland last week. Really nice- unfortunately the alarm was going off with the owner nowhere in sight   Apart from several C's I see around Canters just about the only exotic car I see is a Tuscan in purple- sounds absolutely awesome! Don't kill me for mentioning jap crap, but there is also a supra with full veilside kit (bit OTT, but still a looker) and a really well looked after black Integra Type R.
  7. Hi and welcome to the forum, mate! Sounds like a top mota you've got there!
  8. Mine will only tilt and not slide :? so I'd be interested if someone had a cheap and easy solution! Had the same problem on my G60- VW quoted me over £700!!!

    MFA problems

It's not the fuses- they're all ok :? Any ideas?

    MFA problems

Cheers Andi. Yeh, the glove box light works ok- I'll check the fuses later!

    MFA problems

Hi all, My MFA screens (inc mileage) go off completely when the ignition's blank. It also doesn't reset automatically after a journey, even if it's been left for a day. The clock also loses it's time when the ignition is turned off! Where is the fuse for the MFA? Anyone had any similar problems- any solutions? Cheers
  12. Can't you just replace the seals? Sure I've heard of someone doing that before...
  13. Erm, the Octavia RS is actually pretty quick, and although it would lose to a VR, it would run it close!
  14. A sad day, Jim! Good that you got the deal tied up nicely though- nothing worse than trying to sell your car for months! Who knows, maybe in a couple of years you can return to the fold with a VR6..... 8)
  15. Never heard of that one! I'll give it a go next time I do any painting. Cheers.
  16. Sorry mate, didn't see your reply! This is probably too late now... Make sure it's completely dry - an hour or two should be OK. Go easy on the wet sanding too, 'cos as you say you can end up removing most of the paint! I only wet sanded after the first coat, then just dry after that and it worked really well. :)
  17. Yeh, I'll be going clockwise round to the M4. We'll have to co-ordinate our journeys a bit better next time :D
  18. Andi, I'll be on the M25 on Friday at around 4pm- seeya there!
  19. Te-he. Only joking about the meet. :D
  20. Blimey, where are they all coming from? Saw what looked like a 16v, silver at Habitat roundabout going towards Wincheap the other day. Also saw a green VR6 in the morning, and a midnight (?) blue de-badged C in the afternoon. The red VR6 is parked around the corner every day. Saw another red VR last weekend parked outside a pub near the West train station- lovely car, nice 17's. Also a black VR parked just off Broad Oak road on Monday afternoon. There's almost as many around here as in Guildford and Bournemouth!
  21. No way! What were you doing exactly when it went? Ant, says you're new regional host for West Sussex in the latest Sprinter (which is actually a flyer this time!). Says you're organising a big meet for next weekend.
  22. Migs, if you could stump up the cash, might be worth considering buying a whole new G60! There are a few bargains out there. You could use the best bits from both and break the rest. You may even make a profit! You'd have one stunning car + loads of stuff to sell. Would take a lot of time and effort, and who has £2000+ knocking around? So I'm probably not being very helpful at all! BTW, did you get the cheque?
  23. Cheers guys. I'll give 'em a call when I get a mo'. What a relief! Thought I was gonna have to pay through the nose for an auro-electrician to sort it! Having a bad week all round. Last night someone had thrown huge chunks of earth into the road which were totally unavoidable. Bent the spoiler back, cracked and bent the slats in the lower bumper, and broke one of the splash guards off from under the engine bay! Times like that when I wish I had standard suspension- damage wouldn't have been so bad
  24. Solved it! :D Removed the broken mirror switch, replaced the fuse and the windows work perfectly! Now all I need is a new mirror switch. Phoned the guy who works on my car and he couldn't believe it! They spent 3 hours checking the wiring for damage! I'm very proud of myself  Thanks for your advice guys.
  25. Forgot to say that the door mirror switch is broken. It could be blowing fuse 14, but how would it affect the windows?
