Had this on my old 1.8 valver and it was a bad earth. There is a kind of 'earth wheel' under the dash on the driver's side. It's attached to the inner wing and is a pain to get at. One of mine was very loose. Pushed back on properly and all fine afterwards. Could also be the plug on the back of the clocks- make sure it's clipped in properly.

As above- seems quite pricey, but if it's as good as it sounds, it's probably worth it.

Take it to a Powerflow or Longlife exhaust place- they should be able to adjust it for you pretty easily. New hangars are one- piece- metal hangar with rubber attached. Think they're around £12 from VW. To save cash you can rmove the metal bracket and saw off the old 'bar' the rubber is attached to and replace it with a thick bolt/nut combo, with a new rubber fitted.

Still have a prob mate! It takes several attempts to be able to use the site. It freezes 3-4 times, I have to close IE and reopen every time. On the 4th/5th time it works OK. Weird! -

Check the caliper bolts. If loose or missing, the caliper will flap around, making a clunking noise.
