Good piccies there Jon. Well done for getting stuck in again good and proper after all this time- was getting worried you were gonna ditch her... Exterior paint looks very good. Reckon all that rust is sortable. Pretty sure VW still do the battery tray.

Cheers chaps :) Yep, wind deflectors are coming into their own in the current weather. Love being able to get plenty of fresh air in without getting wet!

Dodo Juice Blue Velvet + Megs Tech Wax on top ;)

Yep, reckon so... but then I've said that before! In all seriousness, a Mystic Blue Storm was always what I ultimately wanted, but was always out of reach financially (for a decent one), until I managed to get this one from Dave. I knew the car and knew it had been cherished, which means a lot!

Thanks! Need to get some interior shots too sometime...

Berkeley Castle VW Show, Sunday September 18th PICS
CazzaVR replied to CazzaVR's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Great show! Fantastic turnout of cars, especially as this was the first year the show has run. Only two Rados and Swompy's Golf on the Corrado stand though :( A couple of other Corrados around. Lots of Mk1, 2 & 3 Golfs + loads of nice aircooled stuff. A bit of shower dodging was involved  -
Or just delete it altogether ;)
-
That's very kind of you to offer this for fellow forum members- that's what this community is all about 8) Wish I was nearer ;) SMX-S is excellent stuff ;)
-
Was just looking at this- looks lovely! Wish I could afford to run two Corrados

:( Always loved your car, Mark. Shame you had to sell. Will be good to see you there though :) Room for two more then! -
Front bumper is the two large (17mm) bolts on either side. Don't touch the smaller one in the middle until you ready to take the cross member off. Found this pic for you: http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/download/file.php?id=105&mode=view Yes, you have to take the bumper off to get to the other stuff ;)

Corrado specific. Worth replacing the fittings (called nipples!) as well. These are cheap and I think they're still available. Get the bulkhead grommet too- think it's been upgraded to the MKV part now, which fits perfectly.

All these are approximations G60: £1000 2.0 16v: £650 VR6: £1250 2.0 16v: £150 VR6: £1300 2.0 16v: £1250 VR6: £850 1.8 16v: £1000 VR6: £1000 VR6 Storm (current): £100 All in, prob around £9K, although could well be more! All relative though. Works out at around £1K a year, but they make up for it in the way they beat depreciation better than most other cars. I lost £400 on the G60 when I sold it, but all the others have at least held their value when sold. The Focus we had for a year cost around £750 in repair bills and depreciated by around £500. The Octavia vRS we bought new for £13500 ish. After 6 years it's depreciated by around £10K! However, it's only cost around £1K to maintain.

Now, baby wipes are an excellent idea! I use the Mer green snot trim gel for the engine plastics- works a treat (prob similar to the Megs tyre gel in composition).

The one from ARZ is perfect.

Not seen black seats into grey, but black carpet into grey looks very good indeed 8)

Good on ya, Jim! You've always had a soft spot since the relaunch. Nice little mota- perfect choice as a daily. I love my parents' Fabia tdi. Think we'll definitely downsize for the next car after the Octy. -
Glad he's good. That Honda is sooooo thirsty! Nice compos by the way! 8)

You didn't realise you could take the front end off. Kinda like you didn't realise the screwdriver in the VW toolkit is double-ended  How's bro?
