Cheers- shame the pics are so crappy  Gonna treat it to two coatings of Jetseal + some Dodo Blue Velvet on top after it's first wash :)
-
Good advice above. With mine, I'm going to give it some Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 on top of the new paint, then some hard wax. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/chemical-guys-jet-seal-109/prod_484.html

Thanks, guys! Greeny, yep, to make sure it's properly hardened.

Got it back yesterday. I'm very impressed! Was quite nervous, but I'm totally happy with the results- improves the car no end. I snapped a couple of pics when I collected it. Sorry about the quality- the light wasn't great. Hated the drive home as there was loads of traffic and it was pouring down. Have to wait a couple of weeks before I can give it a proper wash, then I'll get some much better pics up. On arrival it was reassuring that he'd kept it undercover for me to inspect. He was really enthusiastic about painting cars and showed me an old TR project and a Morris 1000 that he was rebuilding from scratch. Both stunning. So, I had the following done: Bonnet Front wings Slam panel lip Front grille Front bumper Rear number plate plinth Rear number plate light cover Parking dents removed Rest of car machine polished

Excellent fabrication yet again Dave. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out- something I'd like to do eventually.

Boost Monkey & ProdigalSon are also from Oxford :) -
Amazing how different everyone is! One of the most disappointing films I've ever seen! Looked really good from the trailers, but in reality, thought it was shockingly bad  40/100 Watched Unstoppable the other night. Does what it says on the tin. 70/100

They are VERY hit and miss in my experience. Depends who you speak to. I've had much better service from vwspares- never been disappointed.

As Mr Dragon says, Irwins win get them off in seconds!
-
It could've come with Westwoods as they were an option :)
-

Brilliant work- wish I had those skills + the time! Like the way the engine cover matches up with the VR6 grille badge. Agree about the wheels though...
-
I beg to differ, Ian! Estorils were standard, Westwoods were optional. It was the other way around on the 8v.
-
Thanks Ian, beat me to it :)

Now, there's an idea...

That carpet's come up so well. Well worth doing!

Make sure you get the fork replaced at the same time- it's cheap and will give you peace of mind ;)
-
Yup, happened to me. Just check the 'remember me' box and this should work ;)
-
That's crap. At least it wasn't a wing mirror or worse. Stuff like this seems to be happening more often these days :(
-
Yep, they can be colour-coded pretty simply. Black badges look good on the red 8) Good luck with it- when will it be ready? Dropped mine off yesterday- pretty nervous TBH!
-
That's the problem, isn't it? :( Have you bothered with a bonnet bra at all? Used one on my old 16v for a while, but was a lot of hassle in the end. I can see the advantages though...
-
No worries- car chat, not pollution! ;) Will do- it'll probably never looks so good again, so I'd better take plenty of snaps :)
-
That sounds very good! Eric's Rocco looks superb. I feel the same about mine- was a little worried that it was quite a bit cheaper than the others, but after looking around the workshop at the other cars he'd done, I was convinced. We'll see later in the week!
-
Bet that's not gonna be cheap! Will look superb when done 8) You can't beat good word of mouth :)
