  1. As well as checking the ISV, check all the pipework too. Take it all off and make sure all the pipes are clear. Make sure that the breather from the intake pipe is connected properly and check for other air leaks around the intake. I had this exact problem on an old VR6. Took it to a couple of garages and they couldn't work it out. Turned out the sponge from inside the black plastic ISV damper pot had been sucked into one of the pipes, making cold starts a nightmare!
  2. Should do- all the VT mounts etc are the same.
  3. You could try a Beru one: http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=647
  4. Quite agree- as long as you buy Bosch, Valeo etc you should be OK. I think the main point was the actual service they generally seem offer, which is pretty poor!
  5. Good work! Always a worry on older cars- you never know what you're gonna find under there.
  6. £25! Blimey 8) Glad it was sorted easily- nice when you have the correct spare just sitting on the shelf :)
  7. The Way Back. True WW2 story. 6/10 Good- amazing story to work with- could've been totally epic. Think they missed an opportunity!
  8. Yep. They offer very good service and the badges are perfect. Worth trying VW Heritage (give them a call), as I'm pretty certain they've started selling these again recently + they're cheaper.
  9. Doubt very much if it will come apart OK. I would just replace the whole unit.
  10. Vaughan, absolutely! I'll put you down :) Ian, put you down too 8) Karl, no need for NOS on the drive home
  11. Go on Jim, can't beat a good curry, especially after a cross-country Corrado convoy! 8)
  12. Thanks mate, just noticed that too. Sunday 4th December it is then! 8) Will your car be ready?!
  13. We had our first Cotswold Run last year, which was a great success! Here's v2, which will finish with a nice winter warming curry at the superb Indian Rasoi in Cirencester. No pies this time around (sorry Mr Crazy). CazzaVR Swompy Vornwend Gloster Ox CrazyDave, FTF & Crazy Sister  MarkVR6 + 1 pete_griff (TBC) KADVR6 bristolbaron (TBC) *UPDATE* Please make sure you have a look at the route prior to the drive. If you have sat-nav, tap it in. Also, don't go crazy on the drive- some of the roads are a little narrow, twisty, bumpy etc with concealed farm entrances. There could be a slow tractor around the corner... Off to book the table :)
  14. Ah, thought I recognised it. Very sad- deffo looks too good to break :(
  15. Thanks Josh :) Yeh, got a drive/curry meet planned. Keep an eye on the Events section...
  16. Spoonfed Tuning are the only people currently making this sort of thing AFAIK.
  17. Should idle higher for a few seconds, then settles down. Sounds like it's duff- send it back! I bought one of these a couple of years ago for a previous car, and it worked perfectly.
  18. My bet would be the ISV. Do you know anyone else local with a known working one? Alternatively, there are some brand new pattern ones on Ebay that I've used with no probs whatsoever. £50-60 IIRC. Otherwise, it could be the MAF.
  19. Thanks ladies :) Rams, no snow lance, but I may well get one soon... Jon, I believe it's your turn to come here ;) Still got your clocks and rad!
  20. Sounds like a complete idiot. Why don't you drop Ebay a message?
  21. Welcome! It looks like a good project- first thing I'd do is ditch the cone filter- G60s don't like cotton filters at all!
