hi m8 I am unsure from your description the yellow connector block you mention is the dim dip part which you need to disconnect from each other (ie pull apart) & then tape up to isolate there shouldn't be anything connecting to that block or the wires which feed it the uprated loom wiring should fee into the back of both headlights & then have one wire each side which reconnects into the original loom or headlight plug

lol the very same thing happened on my VR & is still like it - I quite liked the silver look :)

Need a replacement Aerial base and gasket for 95 VR6
g0ldf1ng3r replied to John Blount's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
I recently brought a couple of these soak in some hot water prior to fitting & they just about squeeze over the top of the aerial base http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REPLACEMENT-VW-CORRADO-BORA-ROOF-AERIAL-ANTENNA-RUBBER-GASKET-GROMMET-SEAL-/281611976603?hash=item419161bf9b -
indeed - I like the way it is a blackberry in the pic too :D
-
indeed & what a cracking little synopsis.... But when you can spend less than £5,000 on one of the best front-wheel-drive cars of all time, why would you buy the Audi? The Corrado VR6 is sweet handling, great to look at and offers a glorious soundtrack

LOL m8 if you look in the top right corner of the classic page it has a language button you can click so as to set to UK ;) I too struggled navigating the site for parts, it was so much better before they changed it if I was you I would either send AnnaVR6 on here a PM, as she works at Heritage, or call Heritage & ask them to identify the correct part. they will be able to do it from your VIN they will order it from classic in Germany for you, takes about 3-4 weeks EDIT: not sure why that log in page comes up. try going to the classic parts home page, set language to UK & then click into the shop part & on the corrado link on the left hand side

ha ha ha well wouldn't you know I had a quick google to find the place I mentioned but saw this instead http://www.pwmotorsport.com/pr,108,bbs-centre-caps-carbon-with-silver-logo-bbs-56mm,shop,bbs-products,bbs-centre-caps.html genuines, 56mm which I believe is correct, and less than £50 notes EDIT: actually upon looking better it lists the different models of BBS wheels for each centre cap as they differ ;)
-
I too need to do similar ray I have been considering buying some BBS stickers as original options are very expensive someone pointed me in the direction of a tiny company in Germany who does genuines but for the life of me I cant find the info
-
finally found them for you - I really don't like the way classic parts have redone their site, it makes finding parts difficult http://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/en/kotflugel-corrado.html

LWS Design are now producing carbon fibre wings but they are not cheap also,i believe you can get new wings from http://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/ but buy them via VW Heritage
-
excellent - no blue lights chasing you then lol look forward to seeing some pictures ;)

I agree with the above. though KW are a more expensive solution they are more than worth it but suspension should not be skimped on my current V1's have now done over 50K miles with no issues & I run a similar '2 finger' gap between top of tyre & bottom of wheel arch my only caveat would be that in retrospect I would have put the extra funds to get the V2 version as they are ride adjustable as well as height. alternatively I am aware that Kev Bacon on here knows of an excellent compromise whereby you can request a slightly softer spring rate with the V1's finally, though it was over 5 years ago, I purchased mine direct from KW. I called them up & they matched the best price I could find

ha ha ha, hopefully the former lol

I knew I had seen an image somewhere about it taken from pdf here https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiA86n6lYHLAhVDtRQKHUQ5CK0QFggiMAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fumpir.ump.edu.my%2F581%2F1%2FRidhwan_Che_Zake.pdf&usg=AFQjCNGNta1mGemG-5Mb25UBYQl_3DqmZA&bvm=bv.114733917,d.ZWU

hi Wompa I don't believe the hi flow CAT, ie 200 cell, would have any impact on sound. all it will do is allow the gasses to pass through the CAT faster & as such reduce the restriction compared to a normal CAT however, IIRC the standard VR exhaust setup has a very slight step down in diameter after the CAT. again, IIRC, the downpipe is 2.5" which then reduces to 2" after the CAT. as such there would be very little performance gain from just changing to a hi flow CAT I think this is right as I recall Longlife saying the would match up the new exhaust diameter to that of the downpipe so as to aid flow of gasses I have a hi flow CAT on my VR which was fitted by Longlife when they custom fabricated my SS exhaust FYI I got my Longlife system for 400 notes all in, fitted & with hi flow CAT & it is freaking awesome!!! :D

another interesting read, this time about adjustable rear spoilers & the fact that they have become fairly standard items on 'proper' sports cars http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46755 corrado appearing at the bottom of the list ;)
-
the spoiler raising was functional - something Porsche cottoned on to as well I was looking for the change in drag coefficient the wing gave & came across this, nice read.... http://www.motivemag.com/pub/feature/retro/Motive_Retro_Review_Volkswagen_Corrado.shtml

Help with front & rear bumpers early / late dimensions
g0ldf1ng3r replied to g0ldf1ng3r's topic in Exterior
thanks Neale, the rear measurement would help too if I can get a couple of estimates I can then compare to mine the VR is in need of paint, again. unfortunately the body shop who painted the sides & bonnet turned out to be not the most perfect of outlets. after 18 months I ended up with micro blisters on the bonnet & they have gotten so bad now that the paint has started to crack between the raised bumps plus I need to have the sill which was repaired last year painted & though I have no idea how I am going to fund it the gf is backing me for a respray you may recall that I managed to get a full Kamei body kit, as per what it on the valver minus the front spoiler, from goldie on here. original intention was to find a Kamei front spoiler & put that on the valver to get that to how it was when I first owned it however, the devil is on my shoulder & shouting 'put it on the VR' there are so few rado's with the Kamei kit, which I believe was a factory option for early versions, I don't know If I can resist -

Help with front & rear bumpers early / late dimensions
g0ldf1ng3r replied to g0ldf1ng3r's topic in Exterior
thanks Neale I had heard the same too I had also thought about measuring, it seemed the most sensible option, but how to go about it is what I wonder all rado bumpers seem to naturally 'fit' slightly different to one another I guess if I could somehow make a datum point which raised up vertically from each out edge of the bumper I could measure the gap between the 2 but I don't fancy adhering anything to the wings to hold an upright I also didn't really want to have to remove them off the valver & vr to sight up & measure that way - I was kind of hoping someone who breaks rado's might have one of each stored & would see the post & compare them it would be great if you could produce a decent measurement m8 -

bump - anyone? help pls lol -
I always use a KUR2Y loom, user on here, as he builds them with triple relay. 1 relay for each side dipped beam & 1 for main beam, thus if a relay fails you still retain at least one side of dipped beam. there is someone building new versions with waterproofed relays but I believe they are all currently sold I also match them up with ring xenon ultima bulbs which are superb

http://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/en/sitzheizelement-corrado.html try that one in chrome browser Jim not sure why the parsed link in my previous post sent you to a log in page as I don't have a log in lol but if I copy the link into internet explorer (IE) it goes to the log in page or just search for 535 963 555 B on http://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/ ;)
