  10. MK3 are preaty good. My rat daily 1.4 is still going strong. My brother uses it when he is back from uni and he thrashs the pants off it ( so do I) and it just keeps going only need new injectors in the last couple of years its been with me/brother. It doesnt burn oil, doent loose water, starts every time, drives perfictly and I dont think it had a service for a good 2 years (20K miles or so) and when Graham ( DG) changed the oil in it he said it looked preaty good and clean. Its a great little car
  11. Your own two feet Economical - Tick Reliable - Tick Cheap to run/insure/repair/maintain - Tick Under £1k - Tick Decent size - Tick Something I can just turn the key and go without worrying about anything. - Tick dont even need a key  Sorry couldnt resist 8)
  12. My throttle pedal would do that. It turned out to be part of the cable catching on the tunnel through the fire wall. Take the lower dash off and have a look by pressing the pedal down and watching the cable and you will see when it catchs. you can easly move/bend the arm that connets the cable and the pedal so it doesnt. If its not that and you have floor mats chack they havnt ridden up to far and the lip of them is catching the bottom of the peddle And the grinding noise is most probably down to surface rust on the discs Hope that helps mate

  17. That sucks mate but at least you are ok. Either way it sounds like you have a case against him and even her for letting him take the car. My mate was hit by a drunk driver last year in his MK1 and was lucky to come away with minor injuries as the golf looked like a bannana and the floor pan was folded over itself  They arrested the guy and he was 3 times over the limit he was released the next day and vanished for 2 weeks. He was in all the local papers descibed as a loving family man :confused4: who wouldnt hurt a soul :cuckoo: . The case is still ongoing :censored: Just shows how the criminal has more rights than the victim :(
