I suppose i could give it a go with the marker and i could always paint over it if it doesnt work out too well? Only thinkin 'cos i got a marker now to give it a go with! :)
-
So, finally gonna get round to detailing the headlights and gonna pop down to halfords or somewhere to get some hammerite. Also thinkin....C488ADO, you said you used a permanent marker to do yours, did you find it left a mattalic kind of finish? Sometimes those permanent markers leave a purply colour. Is it noticable or did it not leave that colour? :) Thanks.

Kempy - when you gave me the heads up on Harris Bros for somewhere that does stretch, was there a particular one you had in mind? They have 4 fitting centres in Swansea and apparently the one on Kingsway is the one to go to. Just gonna get the C through its MOT then head up there as i need to change these rears, not the look i wanted really. -

Ah legend, starting to run out of idea's. Will definately pay them a visit once i get the C through its MOT. Everytime i look at the car at the mo, the wheels are doin' my head in! What size tyre is that on the golf? im missin the 195/45 stretch on my 15 by 9's. :) -

Well, yesterday i popped down to Harris bros to get two rear tyres hopin they would be able to stretch the 195/45 i wanted over my wheels. 2 hours later and it was still a no-go so ended up havin to put on 195/50's which have good stretch but just too much sidewall rubber and to be honest they dont look much good. Hats off to the guy for tryin but am pretty gutted now. Gonna get the car through its mot then have another go i think. Does anyone know anything about fittin stretched tyres? theres some pretty crazy vids on youtube with people using hairspray, settin it alight to bead the tyre. But also some people just manage to use a bead blaster. Anyway, just thought id share my experience, it was a long day! :) -

Someone else had mentioned Harris Bros to me aswell, will give 'em a bell and see! Hopin they can pull off the amount of stretch i want. Thanks for the heads up Kempy :) -
Ideally i wanna do both, paint the faces of the inners black and the inners of the full beam yellow. Just wonderin' what paint to use for the yellow? mmmm. Am guessin you cant mask off the lights 'cos you'd wreck the reflectors, so a carefull and patient hand is needed i guess?

The wheels are a set of Gotti's. Really love the stretch but want the person fittin them to know what they're doin'. Id consider driving up to Cardiff to do it if you've heard of someone who can? Or if you or anyone knows of anyone nearer Swansea. And not a member of the local forum at the mo, which one is it? Thanks. -
Anyone got any pic's of this mod or any pointers on what best way to go about it?
-
Sorry for the hijack of this thread, but was thinkin about doin the same thing to my headlights. I have also seen people detail the inner around the full beam in yellow, has anyone done this and what did they use to do it? Thanks.

Bit off topic but thought id ask, Does anyone know of anywhere that can fit stretched tyres properly in the Swansea area? Dont really want to leave it to any numpty to do it. Have heard it best to fit the tyre over the back of the wheel, to stop them from splittin the sidewalls and that they keep air. Does anyone have any knowledge on the matter? :) Need new tyres soonish methinks. Any reply is appreciated :) -

Hello fellow welsh dub peeps, Gotta black g60 and livin' down mumbles area in Swansea. Seen a few more Corrado's around but always good to hear of a few more! And Smiffy-g60, that pinstriping and those schmidts look awesome. :D Peace out all! -
Is there any way of modifying the standard corrado subframes to accept the fiesta recaro's? or does it seam like a hunt for some not so easy to find parts is on the cards? Has anyone else heard of this special subframe from the US and dont suppose they have a UK dealer do they? :) Thanks.
-
Hey All, Im thinkin about gettin a set of Recaro seats from a fiesta rs turbo to drop into the Corrado but was wondering how much work will be involved? Do the Corrado subframes have to be modified or if the seats come with the fiesta subframes can they be used? Thanks :)

great, thanks for posting mate. Will have a look at it on my next day off. May just replace as they're pretty cheap from GSF. Thanks again.

Hey all, I just wanted to ask a quick question. It seems i got some major cat screechin goin on under the bonnet on turnin, especially on parking. Am thinkin its time for a new power steering belt unless it is possible to adjust the tensioner on the existing one? Im wondering, is it a hard job to replace and where exactly am i looking for it in the engine bay? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks guys.

After trying the handbrake idea, where as you said if there was a juddering through the handbrake and car it could possibly be the rears.....but nothing. So guessing its the fronts that are gonna have to be replaced. Its only at braking from higher speeds that it is noticable, bit gutted they gotta be replaced so soon but hey. Thanks for the advice mate, looks like problem solved, well, once i get some new front discs on there :) Would it matter what speed i was going when applying the handbrake?
-
Sounds like a good plan, but think ill make sure no-ones too close behind when doing it :) Wont mind too much if its the fronts, just want to pin point what it is so i can sort it out. Would rather not have to replace the discs all round! Thanks for your help, ill see how it goes trying your handbrake idea.
-
Yeah thought as much, could it possible that its just the rear discs as the fronts were replaced not too long ago? Or would it only be the fronts that cause that kind of shuddering in the steering? Thanks for posting mate, much appreciated. Gonna try and pop down an MOT station on the next day off. :)
