When i get back im gonna check through the history to see what the previous owner ordered from vw. Have spent ages trying to bend the blade to sit flat on the screen but it just wont, not 100% anyway. Will have a look into the dg autotech looms, do you know how much you paid and was it alright to fit? Thanks.
-
Thanks mate, i was wondering whether that would be the case. Can anyone confirm this?
-
Sorry if this seems a bit slow, but just had a couple of questions. Has anyone had any problems with their lupo wiper mod not being in full contact with the windscreen? Is it a case of bending the wiper a little in places to get it to lay on the windscreen properly, or do you need two of the same side?? (If you can get that?) My car had this mod already but one of the wipers has always smeared, or doesnt touch part of the screen. Lastly, has anyone got any recommendations for uprated headlight looms? Ideally ones that wont start a fire or hinder the rest of the electricals. And has anyone had any problems come MOT time? Any reply is appreciated. Thanks all.

Been a while since i posted, but replaced and cleaned around the foliage seal which has solved the leak coming in by the passenger footwell, but unfortunately still water, though not as much, in the rear footwells. So, next day off will see the headlining coming out to see if it is the sunroof drainage pipes. Fingers crossed! Thanks for all the advice guys.

Thanks for the advice dsilva, ill have a go at that too.

Right then, will try and replace the valve first. Am goin back to the tyre fitters tomorrow or the day after so will hopefully just replace the valve for me. And hopefully, that will be it. Will no doubt be posting again if the problem still choses to persist! Thanks for your comments and advice guys.

It does sound like a similar problem, though since it started it has let air out overnight parked in a few places...flat on gravel, passenger side up on a kerb. Is there a way of testing for this? Could the wheel have developed a flat spot since fitting the tyres? I dont think ive hit any potholes etc to cause any damage to it. Im kinda hoping its something as simple as the valve.
-
I got them fitted about 1 month ago, but went back 2 weeks later because of this problem. So its only been about two weeks since it was re-fitted. The first time around i think it was because the tyre wasnt sat on the bead properly because i could hear the air escaping from the wheel rim. But this time i just got to the car in the morning to find it flat. Funny thing is, its been fine until now. :( Unless when parked in a certain way i.e on a hill or kerb etc it causes air to escape from the valve due to its angle? :confused4:

Thanks guys, ill have a look into those. I never really drive the car that hard so shouldnt think it could be that. It seems to lose air while parked up as the car is fine the evening before. Pumbaa your ideas about tyre valve could be a possibility, Im hoping its not a flat spot on the rim as they've been fine for the last year and a half nearly, only when i stuck new tyres on this has happened. The other wheel, with the exact same tyre and wheel size is fine. :confused4: meh!

Hey all, For some reason I keep losing air in the front drivers side tyre. The tyre is a Toyo Proxes T1r, 205/45/15 on a 15 by 9" wheel. Ive already been back to the tyre fitters once who took the tyre off and re-seated it on the bead, then put it in a wheel bath to check for air bubbles and all was good. But now, a week later this morning it was flat. I realise ive gone for a bit of stretch, but there was an even skinnier tyre on it before with no problems whatsoever. Cant think what could be causing it, so if anyone has any suggestions or advice id be much appreciated! Thanks alot :)

The Schmidts look sick man, a trip south will seal the deal :) what dimensions are the wheels and what tyres you runnin'?

Just having a think....how would i go about looking at the pipes that drain water from the sunroof to see if it is this that is causing the collection of water in both rear footwells. Has anyone done this? Thanks.
-
Thanks for the advice, will be sure to check that too!
-
This morning it had actually gathered into a small puddle and is lookin like it is predominantly collecting in the drivers side. Bearing in mind the car was parked pretty much flat. Walked into work and found a water leak aswell....Damn water!!

Mimjed - aaaahh  i am now on the same page. Might give that a try! Butterfly - Yeah both floors behind the front seats were wet. Im having trouble trying to find the cause, though im guessing the door seals. But neither sill is soaking when i open the door. Aaarrgh. i guess i might as well try and replace the foliage seal and maybe give mimjeds idea a bash and see where that gets me. Gutted. Hope i can find out where this leak is coming from as the rain in Wales is most definately falling more frequently at the mo!

Thanks for your comments and advice. I think ill try and get hold of the bits needed to change the foliage seal (Now i know what it is, Doh!) as it seems that is the first port of call. Just out of curiosity, with this being on the passenger side of the car it would explain the water around the passenger footwell, but would it contribute to the water in the rear footwells directly as this would be 'upstream' if the car was parked with the drivers side wheels up on a kerb? Would it be worth looking into renewing the rubber door seals? Mimjed - Bend the top of the door inwards :confused4: Im not really understanding your method, apologies if a little slow on the uptake! what does it remedy? or does it just get remaining water in the door out?
-
The car was parked with the drivers side wheels up on a kerb. Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by the foliage seal? The plastic sheeting behind the doorcards? Davidwort - If water could run in from the rear light seals would that lead to a wet boot carpet aswell? As mine is dry. Both the plastic door membranes are still there but ill check how sealed they are when i get home from work. Also, where should i be looking for the heater blower scuttle cover seal? Lastly, i also noticed i little bit of water dripping down from around the door hinge area inside the passenger footwell. Could this be down to any of the above mentioned? Your comments are welcome, Thanks again.

Hey All, Got in the Corrado to go to work this morning to find the floors behind the front seats soaking wet :bad-words: . I cant see it being the heather matrix as this has happened over a rainy night parked up on the drive. There is no water running down the pillars from the sunroof. I havnt had a chance yet to try and source where the water is getting in, but just wondering whether anyone has had this problem before and where to start looking really?? Any help is appreciated. Thanks peeps.

Well finally got round to the headlights yesterday, and the marker worked a treat. I ended up leaving the recess inbetween the main beam and full beam 'cos like you said V-Dubstar, it was a bit of a nightmare to get to! But they look kickass now and I gave 'em a good clean in the process. May split them again as i wouldnt mind paintin the full beam inners yellow. mmmm :)
