kvwloon, i been lookin on e-bay and am tempted by Audi VDO gauges but i`d have to buy senders etc for them? demon tweeks do all i want inc senders and adapters for £80 for the lot!!!! i want ones which will do the job for now as funds are limited-but you know how corrado`s are.... they only want the best so i`ll probably have to upgrade anyway  anyone got any experience of these gauges?? jimsG60, Google search of Autometer starts now!

hey i`m after some gauges for my car, i`ve done some searches on here but i`m a bit confused... 1. is there many difference between makes? ie TIM and VDO 2. i`ve read about capillary and electrical gauges, whats the difference in quality/accuracy? i understand about one being on a wire with a sender and the other having a feed of oil for example 3. i`m after oil temp, oil pressure and battery gauges, are these the one`s i need? 1.8 16v, 99% standard so no boost gauges or A/F meter needed, i dont think! any help or links to othe posts/sites much appreiciated! ben

if you got your old seats it might be a case of swapping them back over for MOT time, looks like harnessess are your option for driving, but they can be quite restrictive when trying to lean forward to look round junctions for example, i think you can get some that have retractable adapters??!! check out demon tweeks for lots of motorsport options

you got no way of knowing if its early/late by grill type they could`ve easily been changed! check your V5/chassis/VIN number.... etc i`d just buy a set of springs to match that-lower it 35-40mm and you shouldn`t have too much problems!

what do people do about spares with aftermarket alloys?
ben16v replied to chrishill's topic in General Car Chat
just keep your 15" spare in the boot, it should be fine to get you home after a puncture -
dubbprince, yeah it explains it in the manual, remove interior light-it just pops out remove the two visible screws to take off the surround look on the motor you should see a slotted round piece of metal about the size of a 5p-its got a pin in the middle of it just use a screwdriver to push the pin in and manually wind the motor i`ll put a pick up in a minute
-
can you not just undo the whole mechansim after removing the roof lining? theres about 10 nuts on there and i dont think mine was open when i removed it! can you not open it with the manual winder behind the light /sunroof switch cover if you have to- or is your roof too bent??

No your Honour, I wasnt going 115mph.....Honest!!!
ben16v replied to paddyg's topic in General Car Chat
IIRC the limit is or was 35 mg, so no matter what you were well over (not being arsey) i wrote off my first car due to drinking but i failed the roadside but got 34mg on the station breathalyser after being arrested had to do a driver improvement course etc ... but i was lucky to get all that i did, safe to say i dont DD as a rule, occasionaly have had A beer a driven but i dont do it any more and quite regularly boll`ck my mates when they do its all too common nowadays, and it just made me think how i`d feel if some pi$$ed person(ie me)slammed into my car we can only learn from our/others mistakes hope it works out OK for you-goodluck!
