Okay after a few hours of wire tracing I have removed the alarm and the car works. However only one key starts it with the other key it starts and immediatley cuts out. Do the keys have a code in them? If so how do you recode a key? Also in the process of removing door card I have managed to break the electric mirror positioning switch any one have a spare?

tried the ignition on, battery on, ignition off and press fob for 10s. didnt work arrghhh!!!

I think I have one of those scorpion 918 alarms that came with most VRs. Anyway battery flat went to jump and its gone mad, won't unlock, immobiliser won't go off so the cars dead. Done the google search and many have had the same problem but none of the bas**ds puts up a solution. Anyone know how to bypass this sodding thing, is it easy to rip out.?

The kit is made by Extreme sports kits, and in the flesh they look spot on you couldn't tell if it's a genuine ferrari or not. However interior, engine and most important drive is crap. So appart from eye candy it's useless. All in with alloys and good seats exhaust etc, it will cost 15k so why not add 10 more and buy a real Ferrari?

Be careful mate, you need a cpl to have a paying passenger regardless of profit or not. You can fly a buddy and they can probably tip you after the flight but not pay for it.

The rv8 is not a microlight, too heavy I'm afraid the max takeoff wieght for a microlight is 450 kg for a 2 seat and 300 kg for a single seater . The rv8 is around 900 kg.

Micro light is def worth a go as it is far cheaper it is a separate rating to to light airplane. A PPL will take 40-60 hours and you will need good weather so summer is the best time in the UK. You could consider learning in the US it is a lot cheaper and some schools can give you a UK PPL (well at least they did not sure if that is still the case but should be). Btw You will have to do your ground school and radio exams here if you do take the US option.

I have exactly the same problem, looked at the scuttle seal and it all seem bone dry, my suspicion is the windscreen. Anyway remove the pax seat, remove lower dash tray (5 screws), remove the lower electronics cover panel (2screws), pull off interior door sill trim and last of all there are some plastic large screw cover things just under the dash. Let me know if you find anything. Mines been in the garage for a year got kicked out by the wife and now its been the wettest month ever fffffuuuuuuu!!

Is there anything special about car carpet? Could I replace it with some carefully cut piece from carpetright?

The only issue with the car is the heater has stopped working after a matrix replacement, however I have a full climatronic system and dashboard setup from a 996 which will be included. Will be back in the country in April for viewings etc.

Sorry Alex VR is far far superior G60 is not in the same league ( I've owned both btw) the 1.8 lump was crap and the hairdryer just made it acceptable :D I'd go for a 2.0fsi with turbo and supercharger as a compromise but vdub dont do this so all hail the VR6!!!

Passed the MOT with flying colours and only one advisory (front suspension bush worn). Whilst doing th emmissions, bonnet open and walking round the car the tester says it a G60!

Have you check all the fuses, I had a very similar problem the last thing I check was the fuses and one of the 30amp ones had blown, replaced and started perfect.

so......are you saying replace them!. just kidding thanks for the replies will look at some new ones, need a mechanic though dont have the flange flare thingy!
